  1. Isn't lithium medication used to treat mania? Might be a bigger market for it than people think.
  2. In other words the exact same as it has been at night for a month and a couple of degrees hotter during the day.
  3. NG=nose guard, DT=defensive tackle, OL=offensive lineman
  4. On American Samoa, they're most likely to end up as NGs or DTs. Funny, I thought the OL most likely. But not so.
  5. I agree with you. I've often thought about going to AS for the past 10 years. For US citizens the problem is getting a work permit, which is hellacious. Retirees can apparently stay indefinitely, as long as they arrive with a forward bound air ticket, but working is a real problem. And there is only one hospital there, although it's rated highly. I'm in the retirement category myself, and so have researched into this before.
  6. Not as easy as you might think. American Samoa is somewhat restrictive, including being restrictive for US citizens who want to stay long term. https://www.legalaffairs.as.gov/copy-of-immigration-office-1#:~:text=If an immigrant wishes to,petition described in detail below.
  7. The "poor farmers" are mostly sub contracted to big agribusiness and doing the burning at their direction.
  8. Perhaps the court should implement it's own plan, as the government refuses to do anything. Create its own plan and enforcement. Anybody refusing to follow court directions goes to jail, including big shots at the top of the agribusiness totem pole.
  9. I know what happens with a tsunami. The people drown and die.
  10. As I said, I don't use it. And I don't understand people opting for condos and such. But that's me. I'd rather have a hotel or resort. And I just see too much complaining about Airbnb to even think about using its platform. I want to travel in traditional fashion.
  11. Air is particularly poisonous today. And where is the man in charge? Playing in the snow in Switzerland. But at least there's another committee on the horizon, even if you can't really see the horizon for all the pollution.
  12. I've never used Airbnb. But I've seen a lot of complaints about it, with tacked on costs and overly regulated. Wouldn't a miserable Airbnb experience translate into a miserable Thailand experience if this article is true?
  13. Who tells them about it? How many of the repeat tourists even know?
  14. Which is why you confiscate the land where the burning is taking place. Also look into big agribusiness cartels which are behind this, paying "small farmers" a subsidy for growing sugar cane. Things were a million times better when they just grew rice.
  15. The most effective countermeasure would be to ban the burning right now. Today. Arrest those caught burning and confiscate their land. Anything less is not a serious response.
  16. National news is hard to avoid. As for the local news out of my hometown, I have no idea what is happening.
  17. Myanmar's military government is about to become the most vulnerable "group" in the country. Unless someone sends them some "aid."
  18. Sure glad I got Sinovac, instead of Pfizer/Moderna. I will never take a booster.
  19. These people are the end of it all. This is what national collapse looks like.
  20. I suspect that both carry the odor of the nursing home about their person. That things have descended to this state of affairs in American politics is depressing.
  21. Trump and Biden. The two biggest turds left in the bowl.
  22. Do hospitals do so? What if someone dies in a hospital. Do doctors inform the embassy?
  23. Depends on if the death is reported to the embassy in the first place, doesn't it?
