  1. Yes, I think the housing market must crash to give another generation a chance.
  2. It must be revoked. What she did was actually worse than what the Swiss doctor kicker did. Anything less than the same punishment will mean Russians are getting treated preferentially.
  3. I was six years old when my mother took me to the credit union and had me open up a savings account.
  4. I think this is true and is at the core of the problem. I'm not sure what financial strategy can even help you buy a house in the US today. It's just beyond reach for everyone starting out.
  5. I knew there were going to be problems when, a few years ago, a news report said millennials weren't buying breakfast cereal because they didn't want to clean the bowl after eating from it.
  6. RFKjr the only rational choice, when otherwise left with the two doddering, brain-impaired, criminally prone Biden and Trump.
  7. I have had a terrible time with miners, especially Canadian miners who pay themselves huge salaries and then issue shares left and right for their own options. An example, I bought and held Yamana for several years, because I knew it had good properties and was reducing debt. Finally, the company turns around and starts to move. The stock I bought between 1.50 and 3.56 looked like it was ready to move, goes to over 5 and Poof! company does a rug pull, takes huge buyout sales gains for ownership and leaves the shareholders with stock and cash. I'll never get stuck with another Canadian miner again.
  8. Yesterday's dovish Fed development really spooked me. Powell and company are going to let inflation rip. They're going to let QE rip. There will not be a safe way to protect yourself from inflation. Gold just won't do it. Call it FOMO or YOLO, whatever. At this point, got to take at least a little risk in the hope of keeping even. And the more I think about things, particularly with nothing backing bitcoin except other people owning bitcoin. Well, you can say that about almost any class of investment, dollars, gold, art. No difference.

  10. The UK is a third tier country which is not part of the "Indo-Pacific region."
  11. Yeah, I was thinking that. My capitulation might mean a Bitcoin top.
  12. I've reluctantly come to the conclusion that Bitcoin is, god help me, for real. It's been out there for over 14 years and seems to have penetrated into the financial ecosystem. I've always thought of it as digital tulips, and I preferred gold and silver. But the latter never seem to really go anywhere, which is why I bought miners, which are even worse, as it turns out. It might be time to start looking for an entry point, just to have a little, just in case.
  13. If you thought the checkout lines at 7 Eleven were long before . . .
  14. Getting more and more mobbed up down there every day.
  15. Has the Russian woman had her visa revoked and been blacklisted? Need to have exactly the same treatment for her as for the Swiss doctor kicker, who got what he deserved.
  16. So far, the Swiss doctor kicker story looks to have been accurate. So, too, the Swiss grocery store assaulter. Now, we have the two New Zealanders and the Russian woman. At least as things stand, the Thai media record is pretty much accurate and intact. The spitting motorcyclist/skateboarder/would be assaulter is the only one I haven't seen an update on.
  17. At least it was a Thai who won the big lottery pay out this weekend, instead of a falang. Whew!
  18. BTW, remember last year when the Chinese embassy complained about the nationality of its citizens being mentioned in crime news stories? And then an edict went out to prohibit the mentioning of nationality? What happened to that?
  19. Russians, Swiss, and New Zealanders trying to see who can act the most primitive.
  20. Happy I don't do my extension until late August. People doing it over the next few weeks better step lightly. No exasperation, no loud rants, no questionable gestures.
  21. Happiest person out there is probably the 41 year old skateboarder who spat on a Thai womans windshield and tried to abduct her out of her car.
  22. What authority do they have to do this? And it's not "disarming and subduing" but stealing a police weapon and physically assaulting a police officer.
