Thai schools to re-introduce disease precautions as Covid cases rise
Bim Smith replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Rather than panic people with this nonsense and the kids are once again on the frontline in terms of paying a price let's see the breakdown of these deaths. Vaccinated or not. And was the cause of death from Covid primary, secondary or incidental. We are not falling for this again -
RIP Ubon Joe - ASEAN NOW visa expert
Bim Smith replied to Rimmer's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Devastated to here this news. In addition to helping me through the years with advice Joe helped me in my deepest darkest hour during the pandemic. I was at an absolute low and that one message of reassurance with a visa issue lifted me no end. Rest in Peace Joe. I will never forget you. -

Bim Smith replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I just explained the new rules to my lovely Thai wife. She looked at me like a dog who had just been shown a card trick, smiled then walked away. -
Thai Expert Explains High Electricity Bills in Thailand
Bim Smith replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If the last three years have taught me anything is that as soon as the word "expert" is mentioned I switched off. Absolutely nothing to do with OPEC and others cutting production then. In addition price caps on russian sea bound crude should mean prices are lower.- 124 replies

Same here. Weird that isn't it. Went back to the UK last April for 7 weeks at the so called height of infections and not even a sniffle. The mandatory mask wearing of the plane was difficult though

Sends out an unjustified fear mongering notice and asks the public not to panic. I thought the majority are vaxxed on what we were told was a 95 percent effective vaccine. Or is this just to look important. Get on with life.

If only people knew it's sauce is actually Bara a fermented fish that smells like a biological weapon for the stomach. If you want to be on toilet for weeks go ahead. They make Bara (pronounced Bala) at our local market and it truly is the worse thing I have ever had the misfortune to smell. -

Prevent your retirement visa in Thailand from expiring
Bim Smith replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"You can complete the 90-day reporting within 14 days before or up to seven days after". Has anyone tried online reporting. I want to try it for the first time next month and always thought it was 7 days before due date and 7 days after. Can anyone confirm? Thank you -
Finnish man accused by neighbours of insulting Thai people

I agree. There is no reason not be polite in such situations. He could shop somewhere else. -
Finnish man accused by neighbours of insulting Thai people
Bim Smith replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
I find a few home truths often anger local Thais especially when they kill each other by burning trash and go around poisoning the local dogs. I don't hold back in my anger as such events but more than aware they hunt in packs so carry a weapon of some sort with me. But in the main most are polite and don't do the above but losing that public face can get you in trouble. Unkindness to animals is my one trigger. But their are many who are not so keep that sword sheathed until absolutely necessary. -
UK-renewpassport.net really. For every scam you need a dumb customer and anyone dumb enough to use that URL shouldn't really have a passport. My country like my US cousins is a falling nation. Glad I got out. Love my adopted home. Thank you Thailand

April Fool Day jokes in Thailand again under surveillance
Bim Smith replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If you're stupid enough to fall for the old cow urine joke then there is no hope. In other news there is a severe shortage of calculators in Thailand during the month of May. -
Ex-PM Thaksin vows to return to Thailand post-election, face jail time
Bim Smith replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
When I met my Thai wife back in the UK some 16 years ago she told me that she would always want to die in Thailand. Meaning at some point she wanted to live here permanently. I thought there is no way I am living in the place like that and this relationship won't be going anywhere. How wrong I was. It seems the wanting to return home is strong in many.
