  1. Transferring money to a family member can be tricky as a bank will ask for a copy of that person's ID card. When told that country does not make ID cards mandatory, the banker asked, "Well how can anyone know he is who he says he is?" "He will tell them who he is," was met with puzzlement.
  2. This is really confusing as the Lese Majeste law only protects the king, queen, heir-apparent, heir-presumptive, or regent. I am not really interested but thought someone might know why non-monarchial personalities are included.
  3. Not ill enough for a prolonged hospital stay I guess.
  4. Getting the first likes on Tik Tok is such a dangerous game.
  5. This type of incident is not just confined to Thailand but are reported in developed countries too. From the US. According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), retained surgical bodies after a procedure is an issue for surgeons and hospitals. They estimate surgical instruments get left inside patients between 0.3 to 1.0 per 1,000 abdominal operations. https://goldenlawoffice.com/medical-malpractice/how-often-do-surgical-instruments-get-left-inside-patients/#:~:text=They estimate surgical instruments get,1.0 per 1%2C000 abdominal operations.
  6. If he hadn't been motionless I would be more disturbed.
  7. If the microphone for one is turned off while the other is speaking, will the open mic pick up background noise?I don't think Donnie will stop ranting.
  8. I hadn't realized having an anonymous social media account was somehow illegal. So much for ASEANnow members.
  9. Another outrageous action to shock innocent expats.
  10. I doubt he has much mortal authority as head of a church infamous for pedophile priests. Better to start with an atheist's idea called the three laws of robotics. Just exchange the word robot for AI. 1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3.A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law. (This is the problem when you can't delete a post)
  11. White people broke every agreement they had with various tribes across North America. Thus, compensation should go to the tribes they had agreements with. The theory that god had given them a right to the land was called Manifest Destiny. Similar to the "Promised Land" being a god-given right to the land of Judea.
  12. Pretty good analysis. Proportional representation would help keep the Tories out of government. Unfortunately, only the losing parties ever agree it is a good idea.
  13. Seems like he is making a good point that the Move Forward Party has the right idea.
  14. The article isn't clear. Will SAAB sell directly or go through an agent? Without an agent, how will the RTAF top brass get their commission?
  15. This is such a complex problem. A manufacturer makes a product that people don't reuse so the onus falls on the manufacturer - who does not sell directly to consumers - to take a major role in the cleanup. Never mind that consumers do not reuse or dispose of plastic waste correctly. On the other hand, a manufacturer who makes a product that definitely kills hundreds of thousands a year is never to blame. When was the last time a car manufacturer was censured for the deaths of people? Because it is ludicrous to blame them for building cars that can go 40km an hour faster than the legal speed limit?
  16. When tourists find out they can't swim in the ocean, bang goes the tourist industry.
  17. The conservatives have been in government since 2010. The council is not in charge of the police force.
  18. You could have been right if Covid hadn't happened. It looks like he inherited an upward trend.
  19. There is plenty of video around showing how healthy he is. If he had fallen sick in just a few hours, the court could request the medical records.
  20. Thanks for replying. It is only the reply box that doesn't work. I can read the site. I haven't changed anything recently, or at all in the last few years. Also, the icons except for "like" do not pop up. I had assumed that AseanNow had changed or updated something recently. P.S. I tried to download other browsers, like Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Opera, Edge etc., and all of them refused to download and install because of iOS 12 .
  21. Thanks mate. I had tried that previously and tried it once more just in case. Still doesn't allow replies as seen on this photo (taken with my Samsung)
  22. I only have Safari and a text browser. Every other browser won't download because they require iOS 14 and up. Thanks.
  23. I have an old ipad with iOS 12. Everything regarding ASEAN Now worked fine until a few months ago. I am now unable to respond to items as the reply box has become small and unusable. See the attachment. The emojis don't work either. I can login and read the site. Everything is normal on my Android phone, PC and laptop. Has anyone else has this problem? How can it be solved?
  24. Good to see young people getting involved in politics.
