    Agreed, but I know people who went to study and just stayed there. Also, one couple who went on tourist visas have been there for 10 years. The Thais in America may have adopted local culture but will face some problems without visas or work permits.

    Why would anyone compare Bangkok with London, Singapore, Stockholm, and Milan? Income is very different and driver discipline totally different (except perhaps for Milan) Once the fee is introduced, expect it to rise whenever the government's coffers are declining.

    The UK has 8 public holidays, plus up to 28 days' vacation = 38 days off per year. France has 11 public holidays plus 35 days' vacation = 46 days off a year. Thailand, 19 public holidays and 6 days of vacation = 25 days off a year. Good luck Thai people.

    Are there any state boarding schools in the UK? Military personnel have to move about and wouldn't want their kids to change schools often. Continuity of education is provided by private boarding schools.

    This has been discussed so many times. If you declassify a document by thinking, what evidence is there that it was declassified? If documents are declassified, there’s usually a painstaking process of blacking out what information still stays secret.

    Like a broken record. The tourism industry contributed 2.78% to GDP in 2022, and 7.24% in both direct and indirect contributions. Whereas manufacturing contributed 35%. I know where I would focus. Forgot, they need people uneducated and unskilled to work as labor for rich people.

    You can live well in Thailand until your health suffers. It isn't the occasional doctor visits, medicines or even some surgery that costs too much, it is the constant return visits for dialysis or something really chronic. Getting health insurance is really expensive. I can understand why Spain might be good if the same health requirements are free or cheap.
