  1. People seem to have trouble differentiating between Israelis and Jews. One is a state, the other a religion. You can like one and not the other.
  2. It used to be that if you tried to help someone who subsequently died, you could be prosecuted for manslaughter. Giving CPR, pulling someone from a wreck, you could end up in court. People began to ignore anyone in distress as they didn't want to go through the court process. Then Good Samaritan laws were implemented, and it was easier to try to save someone's life without being jailed for it. These laws generally encourage bystanders to offer assistance to others and reduce their hesitation to act for fear of being sued should they fail. Good Samaritan laws provide limited immunity from being sued in specific circumstances. In many instances it applies only where help is being provided without the intention of reward or financial compensation.
  3. Free money. Who can resist. I don't suppose the contracts they signed have a legal basis to sue?
  4. A generous gift. Who pays for the fuel and maintenance?
  5. When will the authorities start to provide offroad space for these guys and girls to enjoy themselves? Freestyle events are very popular as are enduro and speedway. A particular favorite, hill climbing (motorcycle trials) is great fun. With no real hills in Bangkok, manmade hills could be created. Give young people an outlet for their energy.
  6. People sign up to defend their country all the time. The handwringing snowflakes who denied them the chance because they were so afraid of those guys should be demoted.
  7. I suppose Musk was in with a chance but they chose the organ grinder not the monkey.
  8. There was a famous incident of the school girl in Bangsue walking along railway tracks gabbing away and people in the station shouting at her that the train was coming. Taken out of the gene pool immediately.
  9. The gold simply means, "I have no savings in the bank and all my net worth is around my neck."
  10. Perhaps the Werewolf Division should look at what happened to the Werewolf Division during the war. They were all executed when caught for wearing allied uniforms.
  11. Could have been something innocuous in a packet that was made of magnesium? Would Russia be so obvious? Maybe...
  12. He looks like he has the moves to serve on the front without a gun. Next: welcome back to Russia, comrade.
  13. It has implications in many fields, but astronomy will get to the point of seeing the big bang.
  14. I think he's serious. Do these people understand what a laughingstock they make of Thailand with their pronouncements?
  15. Rode a 500cc motorbike around Europe 40 years ago and did a year of courier work to save money, I had a Suzuki 125 in Thailand for a few years - went as far as Aranyaprathet one time. The thing I would point out to people not wearing a helmet is that you can be the best rider in the world but when you get shunted in the back, you will fall off. And when you fall off, the injury that you will suffer most frequently from is the skid marks on your head from sliding along the road. Those marks can be deep and can take your ear off. It's just not worth not wearing a helmet.
  16. They are all just Jimmy Saville in a robe.
  17. Poor woman. The temple should never have admitted her. She needs hospital treatment.
  18. What is wrong with religious people? Unfortunately, monks' attire doesn't make them holy.
  19. No point in pouring a bucket of cold water over them I suppose. When the feeling starts, no other choice but to act before it dies off.
  20. The way the media makes it sound; Reeves made the whole budget in secret and Starmer had no idea what was in it until she revealed it. Load of rubbish, there would have been at least some discussion, and everyone signed off.
  21. I believe that, while the quality of healthcare in the US is good, as long as you can afford it, Musk cannot just lower costs without understanding why they are high. A key issue will be the culture of profit before people will be hard to shake. Except maybe for doctors and nurses (I hope), everyone involved is out to make profits, from the hospital administrators to pharmaceutical companies. I once had a discussion with an American economist about the pros and cons of the health systems in the EU and US. He was proud that a European hospital was forced to send a patient to the US because it had treatment unavailable in the EU. However, my point was, the patient would not have to pay for the treatment in the US, while an insurance company in the US would unlikely pay for someone to receive specialist treatment in the EU if unavailable in the US. The capitalist system was supposed to lead to lower prices due to competition, but the USA has the highest heal costs of any country in the world. So, what can Musk do? It isn't as if everyone in the US can afford healthcare, let alone the same healthcare as Musk. Hence the poor lifespan compare to similar countries. Moreover, there is an entrenched for-profit mindset that will keep cost to consumers high.
  22. Maybe they should check the hotel swimming pool. Lots of scantily clad people there.
  23. Getting old is an opportunity to find new interests and hobbies. You don't have to be bored of life.
