  1. The US had in the past long supported groups like the IRA with guns and money. Somehow I am not surprised.
  2. Not willing to die for money but Israel pays more than Thailand. If only "a government" could raise up the lives of Thais they wouldn't go to Israel
  3. Here's an interesting factoid. Why is the foundation called the Don't Drive Drunk Foundation and not the Don't Drink and Drive Foundation? I asked someone at a famous alcoholic drinks company that sponsored the foundation and was told they didn't want to stop people drinking and driving, just not drunk. Makes you wonder.
  4. Yes, I read that. Don't think they got a referendum when the British took it, but that is long past now. They are British and proud of it.
  5. I work in an office where everyone is bilingual or even trilingual, so I can speak English all day. However, there are some who I don't expect to speak English when outside. Speaking to them in Thai brings a smile to their faces and facilitates communication: It's just politeness and it works.
  6. Many police wives will be happy.
  7. Sunglasses at night. Cool but stupid.
  8. Why do people wield the word "treason" here and elsewhere with such impunity? Treason is the only crime that is given a definition in the Constitution and nowhere does it say, "someone I don't like".
  9. I hear she is a Marxist/Communist. So, in that case, Fema, a Marxist/Communist arm of the government created to help people using taxes raised by hardworking folk in blue states, should close.
  10. How about offering their nuclear scientists a bank account full of money and nationality wherever they choose (as long as the recipient country is willing)? Identity change, wife and kids to join. Seems like a peaceful, capitalist, method of avoiding nuclear weapons development. There can't be that many nuclear scientists in Iran.
  11. It doesn't seem unreasonable that with all the trouble the UK has financially, as well as with having migrants entering willy nilly, that it would seek to lower its expenditure in its foreign conquests of the past while maintaining national security. The last word needs to be with the locals, however.
  12. The UK is out of the EU. There are richer, more populated countries in the world so why is the UK a focal point of these aggressive tactics?
  13. I doubt the U.S. President needs to have studied geography. Or any other subject. He just needs to know how to cook a dog.
  14. I like my company diesel-powered Innova. Never goes wrong and easy to maintain. I doubt I shall buy an EV in the future. Too many negative stories.
  15. In India, men will grab the breasts of western women and run away. They also rape then murder children.
  16. The governor of the BOT is an economist. He doesn't have to listen to politicians. Funny how Thailand was a famous SEA Tiger and exports grew when the Baht was 25 to the dollar.
  17. I always found it amusing that he was found guilty by a bunch of coup makers who, naturally, had to invent a reason for their coup. Other governments realize this and treat him with some respect.
  18. This happens every year, they will never correct it.
  19. Admittedly, she is very lucid in this chat and comes across as able to speak off the cuff. Others, not so much.
  20. If God were real, She would certainly prefer a female president. So many successful leaders have been women.
  21. Not sure how old the photo is, but didn't he lose a lot of weight? Maybe not a lot.
  22. After 30 years it is the companionship that is most appreciated.
  23. Saw an article recently that diesel cars are rising in favor over EVs. Not the environmental answer really.
  24. The military base is probably the biggest moneymaker that Mauritius has so it is unlikely to break their agreement.
