  1. Why on earth would people criticise her jeans and not the quality of education under her control?
  2. It seems that some visitors resent the hard push to buy a lottery ticket. The Pattaya Mail reports one saying, “I buy food, I rent a condo, I tip generously. Why would I need to buy a lottery ticket to support local business?” asked one longtime visitor. “What’s next — tipping the construction workers?”
  3. Just hope he will receive a jolly British welcome of eggs and yoghurt. The cheek of the fellow.
  4. Bit of a bummer for anyone wanting an NK holiday. Thailand would have real competition - not.
  5. No one ever says they are going to find out why there is a demand for drugs and figure out how to lower demand.
  6. Perhaps Thailand hasn't realised other countries are attractive as tourists search for something "new". Businesses think they can increase profits indefinitely. But national economies can only do this by switching to a variety of new industries that meet new demand so that overall they can keep growing. Thailand has got stuck on the idea that there is only one industry that can grow indefinitely - tourism. It appears they aren't interested in developing people to enter new industries.
  7. "Not more immigrants?" says Farage. Never mind - they're white.
  8. Fireworks are attractive to look at but should be controlled by people trained to handle explosive. The Germans haven't learned that it seems.
  9. Shooting those who tried to escape was a tactic used in WWII by the Russians. It reflects that the Myanmar leaders cannot win the hearts and minds of people to fight willingly.
  10. Well, I heard he was very happy because doctors recommended raising his legs to assist blood flow. He told his friends it was the first time he had seen his feet in 10 years
  11. Strange. Whenever my SCB account gets to a certain amount I withdraw it and move it to GSB. The manager runs over every time and wants to know why I am moving the money. I tell him it is because I can get a better interest rate elsewhere. With the government wanting to lower interest rates to increase loans, they should know we will look for the best interest.

  18. Shirley someone's noticed. The OP's "expats" are all male. There are female expats here, for whatever reason. There are educated expats who don't hang out in bars all day.
  19. There are shooting ranges around Thailand. You could rent one and shoot away at targets.
  20. Well, that's the end of my late-night snacks then.
  21. Maxwell's lawyers are probably bargaining right now to shorten her term if she spills the beans to Congress. Can't kill every prisoner.
  22. Thanks for making this statement, Sir, but I regret to inform you may have to search for "childhood diseases" to discover it is a commonly held understanding of what they entail. Many diseases hit children first but can also affect adults later in life. In developed countries, vaccinations for certain diseases start following birth and into school. diphtheria measles poliomyelitis tetanus Chickenpox Mumps Rubella Maybe it would be better to say, "diseases that frequently occur most often in childhood". Measles is a hot topic today and most who catch and spread it are children (I guess because of close proximity in school). http://www.bccdc.ca/schools/Documents/EN_Guide_Childhood_Diseases.pdf https://www.cdc.gov/parents/children/diseases-and-conditions.html https://www.britannica.com/science/childhood-diseases-and-disorders Have a good day.
  23. My parents agreed to me being vaccinated as a baby and further into junior school. I was not given a choice. In school it was, "Join the queue and roll up your shirtsleeve." I got none of the childhood diseases except for chickenpox. The polio vaccine was given dropped on a cube of sugar. It was great! If vaccines killed up to 30% of those vaccinated, I would understand if people said no. But they don't.
