  1. They can return the islands and pay rent for the military base I suppose. If they were to leave completely, how long before the locals begged for financial help?
  2. I am at a loss to explain why if Thaksin was guilty of corruption, his billions were not confiscated. They must have had the evidence.
  3. I have read about the history and found that there were no major wars except Vietnam and Korea in the 20th century. They were the only ones where America took the lead in fighting Asians. They didn't spread to other southeast Asian countries.
  4. Do all those little islands have economic value or are they just symbolic? Seems not worth dying for.
  5. Rape? Incest? Health issues? Why is abortion even a question?
  6. There is a rumor that Melania is a transsexual. I don't believe it. Who spreads these rumors? 🤣
  7. Burma, switched from driving on the left to driving on the right in 1970. If I remember correctly, all vehicles still used cars with steering on the right.
  8. I understand the were seven charges: reckless driving causing damage to others’ property, reckless driving causing death, failing to stop and assist the victim, failing to report to authorities, drunk driving causing death, and speeding. As they have mostly run out of time under the law (statute of limitations), I wonder if new charges can be brought once he arrives in Thailand? Failing to appear at a court to answer charges strikes me as one. There may be more.
  9. It has already started. Some parts of Sukhothai flooded. It's as if the government want people to remain poor.
  10. In space, no one can hear you scream. And scream.
  11. Well, the Pheu Thai was going to give THB 10,000 to everyone. Is this new idea going to replace that giveaway or be in addition to it? It sounds like a sneaky way to register more people for tax later.
  12. After the next flood, will we hear that the government was caught unprepared again?
  13. He is a Southern political representative and may be justified to oppose the Pheu Thai lack of interest in that region. Can't argue with that.
  14. If they have this legal right there isn't much to discuss.
  15. It seems like a smart move. With her nomination as President coming late in the election process, being able to show your Vice President to the voters, and both respond to questions on a real news channel as opposed to a self-confessed entertainment channel seems like a good idea. It is all a very compressed timeline for both of them. I presume the public want to see them in action together to get a feel for how they will get on as a key part of government.
  16. Either his team or supporters think it is fine to break the law.
  17. These guys are so clever and tech savvy one has to ask why Africa hasn't developed more. Seems clever guys make more money from crime than office work.
  18. Always confused when developed nations' blue collar workers want higher wages but complain about cheaper Asian products. Can't blame them for wanting a better standard of living.
  19. It will be good to punish the police who helped him get way. But what about the current police who know where he is and refuse to act?
  20. Sounds like a lot of people were looking forward to de-stressing... but now, back to the rioting.
  21. I think it celebrates victory in WWI, which saw Thailand on the side of the British and French.
  22. I just completed this quiz. My Score 20/100 My Time 72 seconds
  23. Libraries are a place of freedom and access to knowledge. Censorship had been proven not to work. If people can't read Lady Chatterley's Lover in a library, they will pass around on grubby illegal copies. Books just don't kill people. Not so sure about guns.
  24. Don't gamble except in a government casino.
  25. The Great Fire of London started in a bakery too. That's how things start. Just saying.
