  1. I find it hard to imagine people sneaking up on him and stabbing him. There must have been an argument during which he used the usual for letter words. I suppose it will come out which is the son of a policeman.
  2. I hadn't realized these were so different.
  3. I have seen a middle aged Thai businessman throw up for quite some time in a main road after mixing durian and Thai whisky. I was persuaded to try durian in a bowl of coconut milk, which masks the smell. I love a piece now and then but will never mix it with alcohol.
  4. The junta is always trying to find ways to control the Senate. Getting their mates to stand for positions is the most obvious loophole. Military doctors, Chulachomklao teachers, friends and relatives. Anything to win.
  5. How is this possible if the police don't agree?
  6. Alcohol again. Much more dangerous than weed alcohol is responsible for more deaths than I've had hot dinners.
  7. Isn't it funny that when a national calamity hits Iran, they don't suspect that Allah punished the people who died? Suddenly, it is about technical errors or bad weather.
  8. After 37 years here there is nothing to make me go back to my place of birth. A house, which is full of "stuff". Planning on leaving the guitars to Mahidol music school. The computers to a mate. Her indoors doesn't want it and will probably sell and go upcountry. I will be dead so why worry? Why change if you speak Thai and have lovely staff and friends?
  9. She isn't a pensioner so they have to be pretty rich to consider retirement to Thailand. Money can get you a lot in Thailand.
  10. Are they sure it was alcohol and not cannabis? The PM needs more cases to justify banning cannabis.
  11. When a real estate magnate runs the government, of course these infrastructure projects will boom. Forget about technology and manufacturing, subjects he doesn't understand. I won't be surprised if he owns land in Phuket.
  12. They have the transcript. Like the famous video of the "tour" made by rioters, the audio could be edited to score political points. They simply need an official document that swears the transcript has not been edited.
  13. Like every other politician, de Santis will be begging for government money when the seas rise and the hurricanes hit. https://apnews.com/article/ron-desantis-hurricanes-biden-government-and-politics-florida-0e744d06ce002f399e37b0f968854e89
  14. Hamas had *killed* the pair during their brutal attack and taken their bodies to Gaza. Nothing about them being held hostage but okay, not something I will quibble over.
  15. Isn't that a long time to store dead bodies?
  16. The land bridge has been mooted since time immemorial. Singapore has been whispered to have sunk it in the past and it will die another death if it is seen as able to hurt the Singapore and Myanmar economies. As for green energy, didn't the junta leader go to COP 26 in Scotland, 2021, then return to order six more coal-fired generators? How credible is Thailand? EV manufacturing here will force Thai labor into screwing together car parts while the profits go abroad. It might look good, but not as good as creating Thai brands. MDB (Must Do Better)
  17. Some reporters sure do have a lot of time on their hands. The joke's on them as Bangkok will be flooded by the time they finish and that will be shocking to Bangkokians.
  18. This will become interesting. Having a government declare a group of citizens mentally ill, will real psychiatrists be able to hospitalize this group or will the result be "so what"?
  19. It will be so nice that foreign tourists will be able to snap photos of the Thai submarine just a few feet below the starboard bow.
  20. ... have not done anything to help.
  21. Does this just mean the justice system requires a lot of money for innocent-until-proven defendants: or does justice have anything to do with it?
  22. Are they all Burmese or Thai Burmese, because if they are Burmese nationals they can be sent back over the border. Became intrigued how Thai law works when I read: The police intended to visit each residence of the teenage members for questioning and to arrest those found guilty. No court proceedings needed?
  23. It is always fun to read people making stuff up instead of simply looking at long-term scientific data. 100 years of temperature rise is not simply "well, it's summer, duh." It has been tracked and studied over 100 years. The sea level is up because the tide is in? Well, that has been measured over 100 years also. None of this is opinion, these are charts only.
