  1. Firstly, apologies if this has always been the case and just a heads-up, when l arrived at Mukdahan bus station for the international bus to Sawannakhet I was approached by immigration police to check my "visa is correct and not late". This was at 06:20am and the first bus is now 06:45am. The other expat taking the bus also had his passport checked.

Could someone please confirm if l need to do a TM30 upon return to Bangkok?

    Regards.

But You could have changed the creased one at the exchange booth next to Lao Immigration, I Did with a DIRTY One I Had,NO Problem....

Last time I went my USD was rejected although it looked fine to me. I am going next week and again have USD in good condition (my opinion)

Is the exchange booth open early do you know just in case? (I never noticed it last time).

Do they exchange them for free or ?.

    Thank you.

There are reports that they are not wanting a new report done every time  you leave and enter the country or if you make a trip within the country and stay in a hotel.

Hi Joe, I am doing the AirAsia Mukdahan flight and bus next week out 5th and back on 7th. Can you please confirm I do not need to make an immigration report after returning from Sawannakhet?

Sorry but I am still confused with the TM30.

Tuesday and Wednesdays are the least busy days. Monday and Wednesday is when the visa run vans are there.

Edit: Avoid Tuesday the 13th since the vans will be there that day since the 12th is a holiday. Only Wednesday will be a good day that week.

It's all a gamble but Wednesday has been OK..

Thank you very much, do you guys suggest to get in line  7am ish or 10ish? Do they give queue tickets or anything now?

Just we will check in to our hotel around 2pm.

    Many thanks again.

  5. Sorry if this has been done before, I checked a few threads but couldn't see it.

We will be staying in Mukdahan and going for a Thai wife visa in Sawannakhet in early August.

We have the paperwork, but unsure on which day is best to apply though not a Friday. Any advice also what time to get in line early or later on?

I would prefer not to wait in a huge line if possible.

    Many thanks.

  6. I have a nephew and his gf visiting in August and they will stay at our house on 4 different nights.

    1. Should I report them both staying on these different dates with us in 1 visit to immigration?

    2. If they put a hotel on their arrival tm30 card and do not go the that hotel will it be a problem?

    (not use my address)

    3. Should I report them at our home for the entire period?

    Thanks.

  7. Many thanks Yinn / Orton rd,  my all time favourite is (excuse the spelling etc) Sanya mer ci yang. Da da da dara da ....Reminds me of westside saloon in Hatyai from 1997 - 2002 when I lived there.

The band were excellent and still the same members playing there these days I think.

I actually heard it as a ringtone recently which I looked for but couldn't find.

Could you please find the video?

    Many thanks.

I just use one of those 'Otto' Pyrex ovens.

Works perfectly well for pies and pasties, costs less than 1,000bht from Tesco et al.

Mine's worked well for nearly 8 years. Some I made earlier.

They look exceedingly good, while your pastry looks like short crust, I use bought in puff pastry for mince n onion pasties, but often still have a soggy bottom and never thought to use my similar Otto oven.

Do you use the same temperature in your Otto as you would in a normal oven and position them top or bottom?. Is that the tin you put in the oven also?

Thanks and apologies for the many question.

  9. Mmm black pudding, in the working men's club I used to go in the NE of England about 25 years ago it was put on the bar (freshly sliced not fried or grilled) along with crackers, pickled onions and cheese at 11am sharp each Sunday.

I saw it in Villa 33 about a month ago but it wasn't Yorkies sadly. It was but the same company that produces the fancy flavoured sausages but I can't remember the name.

  10. Hi,

My shower unit is leaking water as you can see from attached photo. I am looking for some advice from anyone with more knowledge than me, do I need to change the whole shower heater unit or is their a simple fix?

Could the inlet pipe from the tap have something to do with it?

    Many thanks for any input.
