  1. Dumb statement, what’s going to change on 4th Jan? Nothing, apart from a worsening situation throughout the world and even more reason to keep the test and go shut. Why delay the inevitable, there’s no brownie points in it! All they are doing now is prolonging the economic disaster.
  2. Because maybe if the rules change and he has to quarantine for 10 or 14 days his work commitments will not allow it?
  3. When you have recorded covid numbers this low there is no excuse for this whatsoever. Morally and ethically it’s wrong
  4. When it’s 100 deaths, or 1000 are you still going to be holding on to that same, oh but they do not give us the details for the first death but it’s ok an LBC radio show had a caller that claimed he knew he was 70 years old and unvaccinated. Well if true then all the more weight that he did in fact die as a direct result of Omicron, it ties in with statistics from South Africa.
  5. Very scientific. Pass your information onto the relevant officials. No cough, 75% no symptoms, reports are confusing delta with omicron, the numbers are incredibly good. email [email protected]
  6. Typical anti vaxxers OP that takes a couple of google searches and a sprinkle of logic to send it where it belongs
  7. Another two cases in Thailand found today, mentioned in another thread. From Nigeria
  8. Amazing how these vaccines work to protect even with new variants they do not lose all their effectiveness, could that be one of the reasons that many cases in the developed world are mild?
  9. What’s fear mongering about a model that is predicting a potential increase to 100,000 a day of Omicron, it’s not saying 100k sick people just confirmed cases. The UK is already experiencing 46k cases of delta daily, with Omicron almost certainly being a much higher transmissibility variant then 100k could well be an underestimate. The importance is sickness levels which are uncertain.
  10. In a previous post you said you know 5 or 6, now it’s 6. I don’t believe a word of it and I’m surprised your post is still here. Your assertion that so many people have died in the families of people you know due to the inactivated Sinovac vaccine is misinformation at best but utter fake news in my opinion. Unverifiable claim that feeds into anti vaxxers rhetoric, you should be ashamed.
  11. Everybody wants this virus to end just that some people are more cautious on those early reports than others. Nothing wrong with that. No hysteria going on in Thailand.
  12. So that’s where you spend your time, YouTube. Must be true then if Flowers said it ???? Some bars maybe open illegally today and but he doubts if official till new year.
  13. fake news when it’s on the BBC, yea right, as I said over 8000 new covid cases, hospital admissions rising, this is all verifiable on many links including the one given to you above, regards the deaths, you can check any site such as your favorite worldometers or ourworldindata.
  14. The UK has brought back mask wearing in shops and public transport, in what world can that be called panicking? Sensible approach as is the reintroduction of PCR test on arrival. Funny how you are fine with it for Thailand but for the UK it’s called panicking.
  15. The beast has now surfaced in the UK with two cases confirmed in England. Just when there was a light at the end of the tunnel for so many people worldwide this now makes the one wonder. How long this is going to last.
  16. There you go, we are in complete agreement, I said “what went wrong for it to get that bad” meaning some infections are to be expected but it must be pretty bad to close a whole school over it. in the school I work at we have had 6 in total positive cases over the last few weeks but never closed the whole school, no need as adequate preventative measures were in place. Fingers crossed that will carry on.
  17. IMO school closures due to covid should always remain in the news, why did it close, what went wrong for it to get that bad, how will it be avoided again, what measures need to be improved.
  18. Thailand was late in its vaccine purchase and distribution or are you suggesting they should have been opening up schools before all the parents, teachers and extended families were inoculated? What would be the risk to that? Would you be willing to say it is a justified risk and see what the consequences would be. What if you were wrong and it didn’t go according to how you hoped and the result was uncontrollable spread that lead to far more dire outcomes. I’m a teacher and know the consequences of missed education however the consequences of further deaths in families and parents out way my educational wants for the kids.
  19. The situational poverty that has arisen here is a direct result covid with those in charge not willing to provide the lifelines needed to cover the basic necessaries of those they have put out of work due to the measures they imposed. Impossible to compare that to the UK where they had for months implemented the furlough scheme paying 80% of wages to 9.5 million people. Next you’ll be comparing the covid case numbers to Thailand with its testing rate compared to the UK.
  20. I’m a teacher at a large International school here and I can confirm it to be compulsory, my colleagues who have contracts in public schools also. Where are you getting your information from?
  21. From the OP “The minister started the pandemic calling foreigners dirty”
  22. That’s cool coz I didn’t expect you to acknowledge you were wrong that would never do, your post stands as is.
  23. CCSA must have a different dataset to you, only took them about an hour to prove you wrong.
