  1. this concept of selling something illegal to something good sounds ok on the outside,

but to me it sounds like if you confiscated drugs, sell them for a profit and put that money

into a drug clinic or drug education.

Probably plenty of places to sell marijuana or opium and totally legal too I'm sure.

In the end there is still a profit market for something illegal somewhere.

I say destroy it and be done with it. Any new ivory that shows up would be obvious to spot.

  2. Corrections Department chief Suchat Wong-anantachai urged prisons to conduct regular . . . . ? ? ? ? ? ?

    He is "URGING" ? ? ?

If he's in charge of the prisons in Thailand, surely he should not be "urging", but "ORDERING", or am I overlooking something ?

Yes you're got to remember you're in Thailand!

sounds more like you've been ordered to do so and "I urge you to comply"

  3. I see alot of things here.

Lack of exercise from watching TV and playing games.

Pregnant women that eat monosodiumglutamate have smaller children.

With all the meat kids eat today I have no doubt acidosis is prevalent thus the expelling of calcium from the body,

this goes even more for the huge amount of phosphoric acid kids take in with drinking soda.

Studies have shown that kids IQ's drop over the summer in the absence of a learning atmosphere, which is everyday here.

To be fat here for some reason seems to be a long time cultural thing that you must be rich therefore accepted.

Quit selling crap to kids and teach the difference between something being sold to be put in your mouth and food.

Kids are taught to stay out of the sun for fear of having dark skin which is considered low class thus the lack of Vitamin D.

Synthetic vitamin D in milk is not the same and the milk proteins expel calcium from the body as well as create food allergies.

  4. Definitely looks like a picture outside of detention and who wouldn't want to share their experience on social medias?

It looks to me like they were treated fairly although as it was posted:

"It's a body and mind training [exercise] to stay in a new place without prior notice," Taya posted.

so I'm sure there was some serious stress going on in there as their futures were uncertain.

Easy for posters sitting at home to make light of the situation not having experienced it themselves.

Yes they look very happy, they should be, they are no longer caged up, good for them!

  5. 30 baht healthcare. - Cost more than it was saving, so Abhisit abolished it so doctors could treat patients rather than do paperwork. Where did the 30 baht go?

Raised minimum wages. - For who? Bangkok only and then again no one followed it. It was supposed to be nationwide. then only degree holders. A promise that couldn't be kept.

Million baht per village fund. - Goes to the heads of the villages to keep support and create Red Shirt Villages. Vote red or your family is threatened.

Massive infrastructure investment (roads electricity etc). Where? A high speed rail for the rich built by a foreign country? What were the other upgrades?

OTOP for a national market for rural goods. - Any product that meets the standard can be sold under OTOP

1st car tax relief / kickback program - People buying cars that couldn't afford it. More traffic, more used cars flooding the market thus new car sales are way down.

Farm subsidies. - Right! The farmers didn't get paid.

    What was your point again?

  6. can you imagine an American General 'Suspending the Constitution'? maybe in a US TV series but this is 'supposed to be' REAL LIFE

Try to remember the absent convict who was running the government from abroad via puppets ... that wouldn't happen in the US either!

Sent from my XT1032 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

I think actually it kind of is

  7. I haven't been to Poipet in years, but I was always amazed at how fast it was growing with all the new buildings and all.

Obviously a supply and demand situation created by those the constantly had to do frequent trips to the borders.

I wonder if that's going to slow down. Rather than creating a great place to live, they seem to be set on doing the opposite.

Again, why don't they make it easier for people to work, collect taxes, create diversity and grow like the developed countries have?

Who knows, we'll just eventually see how it all turns out.
