Lazada deliver copies to your door. Here's a copy bought locally.... There are clues in both the packaging and the plug itself.
-
....preferably in Patong but Kathu or Phuket town is fine. Lazada etc. is awash with fakes as are the couple of bike repair shops I visited today. ( Model CPR8EA-9 ) TIA

Thai tourism faces strain from sluggish Chinese, Japanese economies
pookett replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Only TCT, TAT and THA dared to dream up predictions different to the blatantly obvious. Chinese group-tour-hordes only put money into Chinese owned businesses, no real gains for Thailand. The independent travellers market is where the money is, sanity NOT vanity. Poor recent publicity for Thailand with tourism incidents and political wobbles only add to the misery. All that before you factor in the world wide problems effecting long-haul tourism in particular. -
Luxury car owner threatens debt collectors with pistol before fleeing
pookett replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Surely silly strips of masking tape can only antagonize? Not a wise action here. Plus, owner returns, removes tape and items or the entire car, retapes and claims missing items and/or stolen car, really daft approach. Either arrive ready to clamp/tow or use proper security tape that shows tampering. Note to repo-men. Masking tape is designed to be removed without leaving marks. ????????♂️ -
Is there any news about the CB150X coming to Thailand?
pookett replied to Rhys's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
Not seen anything to that effect. I was hoping for the CB350H or GB350 but neither pegged for Thailand. We got the CL300/500 instead which is just a rehash of the Rebel. Yammy XSR300.... nope. A few notable others....nope. Do the Thai wings of these companies play too safe? Maybe we'll get the little Triumph/Bajaj 400 next year.... The 350 scoots are too damn physically huge with their plastic fantastic overload! -
The quality of the stores seems to be very manager reliant. We use 3 different Makros, Patong (our home branch), Phuket town and Karon. Patong is very badly run, frequently out of major/basic lines, dirty and smelly but our nearest and most convenient. Only saved by a few good staff that once "befriended" are very helpful. Phuket town has the best range and availability due to it being much larger. Karon is well run, clean, reliable range that has never failed me on stock. BigC has become more pricey, our one, Patong, is also poorly run.

What is the alternate cash tree of teak wood in thailand ?
pookett replied to AppuVinoth's topic in Central Thailand
I assume you did not apply the essential "thinning" process for teak trees. A combination of two thinnings should be carried out every four years. One is health so that any unhealthy/runt trees are removed. The second is selection so that only the straightest trees remain. After twenty years you have a smaller yield obviously but all trees will be of top price. The only other alternative I've seen is pine trees, dependant on your areas climate -
Issues with reporting 90 days online..
pookett replied to AlexRRR's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I can no longer do my 90 day report online. The new reason being quoted is, "Visa was obtained in a different province". This is true, I'm usually on the mainland around visa renewal time ( 2 month stay ). On returning home I make sure the TM30 is redone and complete my first 90 day at the local Immi. office, in person. However, this is no longer good enough, according to the online system. I asked my local office if they knew of the change or enforcement of this but only received blank looks and shrugged shoulders. -
The bitten child is apparently the instigator here, with two previous uhappy meetings with this dog according to the article. This time the child had a stick, the dog retaliated. Dog might have bad tendencies, child definitely does. Both dog and child need better training and control. Ultimately a biting dog still cannot be tolerated unless antagonisition can be proven.

Patong fight between restaurant staff and foreign tourists

...ideally in Patong, otherwise Phuket-town or southern half of the island and DEFINITELY open/functioning. I'm particularly searching for a couple of "half euro cylinders-35mm" and a neat entry lock for frameless glass doors, rf tags preferred over number entry. TIA

pookett replied to billd766's topic in General Topics
Aye, obviously but only one of the two is less than ideal. -

Did I miss the link for the Aseannow calendar 2023? -
Did you pay the hotel directly or an online agent. Some agents quote an initial "before tax" price to boost their listing above others. When it comes to pay, "taxes"(sic) are added. The amount has little to do with tax...

Blocking is the answer. Line is hopelessly unsecure as an app.( far worse than WhatsApp) and very easily hacked.

...on a high floor. Damn things have been there months now. I thought they'd raise young and go but it seems this might be a non stop cycle. They attack surrounding balconies if people are there. There was another thread with no definitive answer Here A BBgun was mentioned but on checking, shooting at animals here is a crime, even if the noisy flying rats are attacking. Too many keen-to-report, money-grabbing do-gooders to risk it. Is there a way to have them removed? Like the snake services? (Phuket)
