  1. This is one where you need to discuss with immigration office. Some offices do not even accept combo method. Also various offices have their own interpretations as mentioned in this attached thread. https://aseannow.com/topic/1104150-combination-method-for-retirement-extensions/
  2. What did you enter Thailand with. Tourist visa? Just do a TM86.
  3. Off topic but hopefully someone can advise. So tomorrow off to Land Transport office building 4 Chatuchak. What's the go for Car Parking?
  4. Next time keep it simple... "Nana Hotel Soi 4" works fine.
  5. In that case you need to attend CW for a certificate of residence. There is not appointment possible however if your widow is open for current 90 day report you can make an appointment for 90 report and the io will process the residence certificate immediately after the Report. You can renew at 6 months expired. Think the cut off is one year.
  6. Sometimes io at entry to Thailand airports ask that question. Can also ask about accomodation by way of asking your travel plans. Proof would not be required. I often suggest to folk to have clear prepared answer to plans for visit. Less is best. Itinerary (fabricated) is good plan. Especially with visa exempt entry and recent history in Thailand.
  7. Yes. Immigration in Thailand at eg airport would not ask to see onward flight.
  8. For your flight to Thailand the airline at departure may ask to see onward flight within 30 days. That's an easy get around with rent a flight ticket such as "onwardticket.com" It's recommended that you have 20k baht or equivalent currency however that is almost never checked by immigration at arrival. You do not need to show proof of accomodation on arrival. For the 30 day extension you will need a TM30 from your hotel. Which immigration office would you be dealing with.
  9. Suggest you have careful read of the OP. I realize that the OP was not changing from "based on marriage" to "based on retirement" however in that situation the wife needs to attend. In regards for attendance of child at immigration for extension, this thread has first reply from ubonjoe indicating that it depends on immigration office. For change of basis of extension it's possible that some office would require presence of child. The OP did not provide rental agreement or mention TM30. Rather referred to some court agreement for address. Irrelevant. The rest was added salad dressing..
  10. That email simply means that your report has landed. In "Check Progress" it will say "Pending"
  11. Agree. Also bit of a joke as I was under impression that home visit was to see the married couple even to the point of sitting on bed together. Ridiculous.
  12. 6 weeks. Do yourself a favor. Enter visa exempt (if your pp allows) and obtain 30 day extension. Allows 60 day stay. 1900b
  13. You are posting about io making a mistake. That's different from what OP was asking about. Also the thread (2014) you also posted about concerns mistakes made by IO. There currently are no tm6 forms submitted at airport arrivals.
  14. Correct. Confirmed with Tok 1500b. My earlier post was concerning Bangkok where agents I have contacted cannot obtain residence certificate. OP to date has not (I think) indicated where he is obtaining license.
  15. When? So your suggesting that someone with a SETV in their passport upon presenting at io counter says words to the effect of... " Hey bud just ignore that Tourist visa and just wack a visa exempt entry stamp 30 days in my pp"... You also state "comes up quite often." Care to fish out a relevant post.
  16. Possibly because it's ridiculous. If it was possible to enter visa exempt with a valid SETV in passport then that would be extremely popular. You state..... "As said this was often done a few years ago" I have never heard of it. What can occur for example is if someone had reentry permit with only few days remaining that person could ask the io to overlook the valid few days and stamp in visa exempt 30 days. Even that would not be a given
  17. Here is old thread, however the OP lists what he provided and ubonjoe points out few things. https://aseannow.com/topic/902108-1yr-extension-based-on-marriage-hua-hin/ Assume that you previously did your annual extensions at CW. Don't overlook doing a TM30 when you move to HH
  18. Think you will find that CW is the outliner regarding need to have done a 90 day report in order to apply for certificate of residence. Most immigration offices will not have that requirement. Aside point: For folk dealing with CW. There is no appointment possible for certificate of residence however I discovered a week ago that if you make an appointment for 90 day report the same io same desk will process your certificate of residence. BTW: Mine was then posted out within one week.
  19. OP, as others have point out the 30 day extension is basically automatic. Regarding onward flight within 30 days for visa exempt travel the airline should accept your ticket out within 60 by explaining your intention to obtain a 30 day extension. In the event of any issue...step away from counter and book a "rent a flight" . Sites such as "onwardflight.com" will issue that instantly. Think that for future visits you have other options especially being married to a Thai.
  20. OP, US embassy does not provide letter. Which immigration office? You need to obtain certificate of residence. Have you done a 90 day report? Some conflicting information in this thread. https://aseannow.com/topic/1214055-5-year-driving-licence-renewal-with-5-year-thai-elite-pe-visa/ Actually I am doing my 5 year license Wed and using agent for hand holding. BSR bikes. You can ask them questions via messenger or phone, without using them.
  21. That is because they are nut case immigration office. TM30 is the current requirement.
