  1. Online work has been "tolerated for years" Not allowed is income from Thai customers. You stated "a lot of retirees" Nup. Vast majority are not working on Non O
  2. Many off topic posts removed. Actually should be lot more removed. Stick to thread.
  3. Doesn't help as immigration offices are a law unto themselves. You could have asked them what a TM87 form is for or even stick it under their noses. Granted would have gotten you nowhere.
  4. Without a reentry permit he would have been given visa exempt stamp. In any event his 90 day count will commence date of entry to Thailand.
  5. It varies. Here is cut and paste from a post in thread regards income method.., "I applied for my retirement extension a few days ago, using the 65k method, at Jomtien Immigration. They required me to show both the statement from the Thai bank (which, btw, took a week to get...no-one mentioned that part to me lol)...and also some proof of where the funds were coming *from*" I suggest folk provide a 12 month bank statement. True BBL take few days (5), however other banks on the spot. You can obtain that day or two prior to attending immigration. Cost: 200b
  6. Some offices will insist on 12 month bank statement.
  7. Don't think they will allow you to apply 6 weeks early. 30 days prior to expiry is normal. 45 at some of the large offices. BTW: Like the way your immigration office provides quick review prior to obtaining bank "stuff"
  8. Indeed over 15 yrs ago. Also the OP is planning to obtain extension from another office to where stamps were issued.
  9. Not sure what you mean. A 12 month bank statement will date back to 12 months prior to application. BBL is only bank I'm aware of that requires 5+ days to issue. Others are on the spot. No.
  10. The OP obtained stamps in Bangkok. In addition it was done in one hit as outlined in Tod Daniels posts. The OP now wants to deal with Ranong. Also using his own financials.
  11. My guess is that you have a 12 month permission of stay. The typo of 30 day report is referring to TM47 90 day report. That is due when being in Thailand for 90 continuous days. Every time you exit Thailand the 90 count stops and resets upon reentry. As a example I didn't make a 90 day report for 7 years prior to covid due to travel. You must have purchased a reentry permit prior to exit. It's half page stamp in your pp. Check it out.
  12. Don't follow any of this sideshow. The OP title in part "..... strategy to live in Thailand permanently" Non O visa and subsequent 12 month extensions allows for ongoing living in Thailand. Albeit the permission of stay is "temporary" On the other hand a 30/60 day visa exempt entry while can be extended requires one to exit and reenter for another visa exempt entry. At airports this will have a limited lifespan. At land borders we are seeing recently compulsory 1-2 night stay. Requests for return flight out of Thailand. Accommodation etc.
  13. In other words a personal guess on what may occur. Meaningless.. While both provide a temporary permission of stay tourist class status is different from extensions based on Non O.
  14. Usual scaremongering post. Your common theme. There is zero indication of you state immigration "force me to pay agent" My most recent extension retirement Nov 5 (CW) was same as every other year. Easy peasy.
  15. Yes that's an option and eVisa for Non O retirement in Oz takes just few days. Be aware that you can apply for eVisa outside of Thailand at nearby consulates. All done using eVisa (online) does not need to be home country. My pick would be Saigon
  16. Let's back this up a little. So where is agent that you used located?
  17. No need. What you outline is clear. This is not a visa. Rather extension of stay and prior to expiry (2/Sept/2025) you will obtain your next 12 month extension. For next extension apply one month prior to expiry with the bank statements and if there is an issue just exit and start over. Which immigration office refused to issue the Non O. Guessing prior to that you entered visa exempt.
  18. Have had first hand positive reports. Not cheap however good price for peace of mind.
  19. The system is flawed. In any event any exit and reentry is not in sync with reminders. Frankly dont understand what anyone even concerns themselves with reminder email. Enter on Google calendar due date and 15 days prior also.
  20. So an agent was able to obtain the 12 month extension at same time as the Non O retirement. Did you provide the 800k in the bank at that time OR did agent cover the financials? You received a Non O visa that provides 90 stamp and at same time agent was able to obtain 12 month extension added to 90 day permission of stay. Suggest you obtain bank statements back to issue of the Non O. So in effect this means ~15 months of bank statements when you obtain your next annual extension. Out of interest, if you had the 800k yourself in Thai bank account in your name only why did you even bother with an agent.
  21. Out of interest having read what's required for the 60 extension are you going to give it a shot tomorrow? Immigration may allow you pay short overstay to organize docs. For sure attend immigration office tomorrow for advice. The other option is to exit asap and start over. You would receive 60 day visa exempt stamp on reentry and then at some point obtain on O marriage at your local immigration office Where are you located in Thailand
  22. Yes. Assume that you have previously not obtained a 60 extension to visit wife And your renewal is due tomorrow? Good luck with that. Cut and paste from ubonjoe. Difficult to organize on same day as expiry.... "Your wife must be with you when you apply for the extension. Best to have the original marriage certificate with you in case they want to see it. A copy is also needed. You will need proof of residence to prove you are living where the office is located unless living where your wife's house book registry is for" The attached link includes posts to exit Thailand and reenter visa exempt to start over.. https://aseannow.com/topic/1327691-60-days-extension-to-visit-family-restrictions/
