Retirement Visa Medical Insurance
DrJack54 replied to Trucker24's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Won't continue the debate. CW insist upon a TM47 to issue residence certificate. TM30 and lease will not do. The alternative is to obtain "letter from embassy". This is also the case for TDL. The problem is some embassies eg Oz , USA and others to not endorse address. In some provinces yes immigration may/will issue certificate of residence with eg TM30 and lease etc. Not possible in Bangkok. -
Retirement Visa Medical Insurance
DrJack54 replied to Trucker24's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Previously that was the case. Now requires a certificate of residence and that is not possible in Bangkok since to obtain a certificate of residence you need to have made a TM47 and that not possible on visa exempt or tourist visa entry. -
Son with thai and EU passport??
DrJack54 replied to beammeup's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, this is the correct answer I quoted. He needs to exit on EU and reenter on Thai passport and may/will not be possible at land border. -

You use an agent. Nothing to do with immigration.. -
Retirement visa renewal and passport expiry date
DrJack54 replied to Tazmo's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Forget the pp renewal. Doubt you will have sufficient time. Skip the "emergency pp" that's not applicable to your situation. As for Thai pp that is processed in days. No issue. Your next extension will have expiry date of current pp. -

Retirement visa requirements.
DrJack54 replied to Paddy 696's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You have two choices. Non O with extensions based on retirement or if married based on marriage. (if married to a Thai) Some married guys choose based on retirement due to much less paperwork and no under consideration period. Some choose based on marriage because the financial requirements are much easier than for retirement. -

Non o 90 day visa application
DrJack54 replied to stix40's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No . And not even if you exit Thailand and reenter. Which immigration office. CM is one office incorrectly requiring TM30 for inter province travel. Ridiculous really. -
Non o 90 day visa application
DrJack54 replied to stix40's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
BTW ...the 400k only needs to be in the bank on day of application for non O. There is one rogue office (Jomtien) insisting on two months. -
That is rare. Most immigration offices would reject a double sided form printed as two pages. I suggest folk ignore this advice from post I quoted

Non o 90 day visa application
DrJack54 replied to stix40's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes. You actually have to apply at your local immigration office. You need 15+ days remaining on your permission of stay. Longer at some offices such as CM -
Travel in another city
DrJack54 replied to Jack1988's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I use my passport to travel extensively in Thailand and exit and reenter Thailand. Have never ever done a TM30 living same address for 10 years. Only few crackpot immigration offices such as CM have not read change of rules 2020. Not everyone has a Pink card or TDL. -
