  1. Completely incorrect. Many airlines from various companies require onward flights for visa exempt travel to Thailand.
  2. You are referring to FD account (fixed deposit). Think minimum deposit for most banks FD account is 1k baht. You can certainly do two transfers or deposits into a FD account. Most folk that use an FD account just leave the 800k+ in the account all year round. I use an FD account and now thinking a savings account would have been best.
  3. With your history both options will work. Personally I would enter visa exempt first and obtain the SETV later. Especially since you plan to travel outside of Thailand for a period. Be aware of the airline map ask for onward flight if flying visa exempt. If your country has e-Visa (eg UK) then obtaining the SETV first is also good option.
  4. OP both answers above is the way to go. Do not do the plan you suggested.
  5. Here is post from ubonjoe in 2019. He doesn't state when change occurred and I cannot recall. "It has been 30 days at land border crossings for a few years now. They made it 30 days for everybody when the rule went into effect that limits them to 2 per calendar year at border crossings".
  6. Ancient history. 30 days visa exempt entry at land borders.
  7. You completely not understand immigration rules. There is no rule regarding visa exempt entries via air. There is no stated limit. And certainly not the ridiculous info from the website you posted earlier. That is false information. Many folk have posted over the years that if Thailand had a definitive rule for visa exempt entries per calendar year then things would be more clear. In similar way that there exists a rule for visa exempt entries via land and sea. That being 2 per calendar year max. At airports it's up to the io. The insufficient funds rule does exist and that the reason the io can use.
  8. If you fly into Thailand visa exempt you would need an onward flight. You can rent a ticket. Google "onward ticket" and several companies provide that option. Flying into BKK or DMK you will be questioned with your history. Keep your "story" plain and simple. Also have 20k baht or equivalent with you and print out of your onward flight out of Thailand.
  9. The websites are wrong. There is no such rule.
  10. Please don't tell me that's "Integrity Legal" 6 visa exempt entries via air in a year, especially with extensions and back to back would provide a one year stay. And 100% would result in refused entry. Ridiculous nonsense. Again
  11. https://aseannow.com/topic/989464-denied-entry-at-suvarnabhumi/ Start with this thread way back in 2017. Can post many others but it's boring. Seemed to reach a peak in 2018, 2019 when it was common. Folk refused entry using too many repeat entries via air. Sometimes only spending couple of days out of Thailand. This was most common at Bangkok airports. Some folk were even selecting CNX as a safer entry point. Since covid things have had a reset due to the amnesty and covid extensions for couple of years. Rest assured overdoing visa exempt entries and resulting in refused entry will start to pop up in the future.
  12. 1. No. However you simply purchase a multi reentry permit 3800 2. Covered in attached thread along with couple of links 3. With this annual extension you are not required to leave Thailand you can exit and reenter (with reentry permit) as often as you like.
  13. There is no stated limit however back to back visa exempt entries via air would soon lead to refused entry with extended history in Thailand without spending time out of country.
  14. The OP is asking about the application for visa. Possibly eVisa online application. The other reason that folk obtain these tickets is to satisfy airline at departure to Thailand flying visa exempt.
  15. The io should have fined you 1500baht for 3 day overstay. You caught a break. Very unusual and also very poor advice.
  16. Took your advice. So little report for others.... I arrived (car) early..ish 8.30am. Wondered what all the fuss was about as parking was available. Directly opposite building 4. However when I left 11am the parking was a circus.. Chock a Block. So regards DTL. If you walk back to entrance and walk left you can obtain medical certificate 150b. Location shown on map earlier. So word of warning...don't bother with an agent. I met my agent and she explained that today was just to make the appointment. So made the appointment myself and back tomorrow to do eye test etc. Didn't feel bad about ditching her as she had other clients sitting with me.
  17. OP, which immigration office. Jomtien requires 800k in the bank 2 months prior to application. Crazy but true.
  18. Ignore mail receipt. Follow the online report due date.
  19. In that case you could consider return to home country and return when you can support a non O with annual extensions based on marriage. The money only needs to be in bank for couple of months and then can be used as required. A ME non O marriage is available from Savannakhet however the cost of visa runs comes into play. Not available in Vientiane. If 50yr+ an agent assisted non O retirement with ongoing extensions is also an option.
  20. OP, you don't loose any days by applying early . The 30 day extension starts from expiry of your current permission of stay. Actually bit silly to do it on last day. Do it week or two early.
  21. You will use a TM87 form as you entered on visa exempt. Here is copy and paste from ubonjoe is old thread and explains the difference. "You can do the application with a tourist visa or or visa exempt empt entry. You must have at least 15 days remaining on your current permit to stay. The only difference between the 2 is the form you use to apply for the visa. With a visa exempt exempt entry you use a TM87 form visa application form instead of a TM86 change of visa status form. You will need 800k baht in the bank on the date you apply or proof of 65k baht income or a combination of the two totaling 800k baht. If using money in the bank you need a letter from the bank confirming the funds came from abroad."
  22. Thankyou for very detailed answer. I'm going tomorrow for 5 year TDL and have appointment. I'm obtaining my medical from clinic shown in pic and there is a parking lot there. The red circle shows the clinic and parking lot. The red X is entry to DLT . I could take MRT but leg but doggy currently and looks like taxi might be my best option?
  23. OP, where would be applying for this visa? Years ago was available in Penang. Not currently available. Also not available at Vientiane or Savannakhet
