  1. I realize that numbers go up and down and shouldn't connect dots that are not there.... ..good to see Vietnam cases ease to 7,244 and it was trending upwards to over 8,500. They have strict lockdown think the curfew is 6pm. Not suggesting that for Thailand. All this of course useless without vaccination push.
  2. Exact same thing with my Thai friend. Has wife and 2 kids had just decided to "isolate" at home......... Hardly isolation and why for another 2 weeks. Seems rubber stamp process.
  3. Many have. Pre the insurance requirement and of course Mr Covid......the non O-A was a ripper visa and suited many. In fact some folk obtained one every 2 years and didn't even do extensions. You will no doubt be aware that all you need to do is exit Thailand without reentry permit (in the future) and reenter visa exempt and then welcome to world of non O (RT) and extensions without bs insurance. Anyone with a non O-A and happens to be married would be aware if they do their extensions based on marriage in lieu of retirement then no need for insurance.
  4. It's an interesting one. Some expats here due to age and or pre existing medical conditions perhaps cannot obtain insurance. Think one sticking point even for greedy gov might be for the group marriage to Thai. The Thai insurance companies would love it if it was Thai only companies.
  5. Pure guess work imo. However that's what forums are for ......... various opinions.
  6. Not saying that the numbers are accurate. However I was just looking at weekly averages say first half of June compared to current numbers. The bigger picture is the weekly average increase. Week or so back some folk were saying Bangkok numbers on the decline. What's your take on Chonburi. Do you think that the numbers could be much higher or .....
  7. OP, you can buy the cheapest onward flight ticket as a throw away. You could also Google sites such as "rent a flight etc. It's a cheap option. As for extension. Immigration will want you to first obtain a 30day extension to your visa exempt entry. After that you could obtain 'covid extension' 60 days. The availability of covid extensions most likely to be extended.
  8. @ubonjoe can you answer this question. Is it 2 months of transfers or longer.
  9. A Non O-A is a multiple entry visa. Valid for 12 months. Every time you enter Thailand in that 12 months you are stamped in for a year. If you exit and reenter Thailand just prior to it's expiry you will be stamped in for 12 months. You would not need to apply for an extension for almost 2 years.
  10. If he arrives in Thailand with tourist visa or visa exempt he would first up obtain a Non O and subsequently apply for 12 month extension.
  11. You can obtain non o (retirement) in some home countries. Some you cannot eg Australia. You can also enter on tourist visa or visa exempt and then obtain a non o (retirement) at immigration in Thailand. The visa exempt entry gives 45 days permission of stay. You could apply for the non O with 15 days left on you POS. The non O rt would require you to have 800k in Thai bank on day of application. The non O grants you 90 day stay. You then can apply for 12 month extension. You would need the 800k to be in bank for 2 months prior to applying for extension. Do you have a Thai bank account. Personally I would avoid a non O-A at this point in time.
  12. The gf just told me this news. Her comment......"this make the big news soon"
  13. Don't take any further advice from me. I was under the impression that domestic flights were cancelled. I know that Phuket had flight to U-tapao. Wasn't aware flights Phuket to CM
  14. How are you planning to travel? Car? There is a download form that you can fill in. Last time I looked the field for "reason to travel" was optional. No joke. Many people are posting experience of regular inter province travel without issue.
  15. Do you actually think any of this through prior to posting. Very shallow stuff.
  16. Yes. Best to contact agent. You could check out Thaivisacenter if located in Bangkok.
  17. Why the capitals for ALL. The thread is about 90 day reports. 1. Online: for some doesn't work and sometimes is down. 2. In Person: For some not convenient as long distance from imm office or wanting to avoid crowds. 3. Via Mail: Easy option (small # of offices might not accept mail option) 4. Use of Agent. Some folk concerned re security etc. Very convenient and cheap. 5. Fail to do it: 2000 baht fine no other issues. However will need to do next one in person. Personally I use mail as too many issues with online. Hit and miss. Folk should choose option that suits them. Then perhaps daily threads about 90 day reports could end.
  18. I already posted above that there is a simple mail option also. However I guess that might also make some folk skittish.
  19. Good option. Some agents pick up and drop off passport in the Bangkok area. Also no under consideration stamp. All done in one hit.
