You can obtain a single entry non O at immigration using your visa exempt entry. Prior to obtaining the non O you could obtain 30 day extension to your visa exempt entry + 60 day extension "to visit wife" Process outlined in attached threads https://aseannow.com/topic/1315828-visa-exempt-to-90-day-non-o-spouse-visa-conversion-in-thailand/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1328106-marriage-visa-from-visa-exempt/

It's possible. So if he obtains 30 day extension to tourist visa entry and also to his border bounce visa exempt entry that would be 60+30+30+30 =5 months when he applies for SETV at Vientiane. Vientiane requires appointment. He might have some questions from immigration when entering after 5 months in Thailand. Next time better he obtain an eVisa METV

The snip of rules I posted above your post is very clear. Seems you were given incorrect advice. -

It doesn't matter. uj once posted it's date of your actual non O visa. I always just put dates of current extension. -

We posted same time. I clarified in post above yours. Most offices for extension based on retirement do it on the spot eg CW. -
Bank funds for retirement visa
DrJack54 replied to whophant's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If using the funds in the bank method, for annual extensions based on retirement it's 800K THB deposited in a Thai bank for 2 months prior to the date of submitting the application, maintained for 3 months after the extension is granted. -

I can go one better: I have never provided a TM30 for my 12 years here on extensions from a non O (retirement) That includes annual extensions, certificate of residence, 90 day reports including in person and online. Also April renewed pp and for stamp transfer did not require TM30. MANY trips out of Thailand. Same address 12 years. Few current threads running on this topic. Seem mainly to do with online reporting require updated TM30 to sync.

OP, just exit Thailand with both passports. The current permission of stay is still valid. You planning to exit Thailand via air or land border. -

Help with parental visa
DrJack54 replied to Kenny202's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Clear up few things first. Extensions to visa exempt and tourist visa entry is 30 days . Are the children Thai nationals. Is he married to a Thai citizen. He did not enter on a 30 day tourist visa. Seems he entered on visa exempt which provides a 30 day permit. Here is short thread with some links posted by ubonjoe https://aseannow.com/topic/1275570-visa-based-on-child/ -

True. I'm one of those guys (not expert) and sometimes post incorrect info. Few threads running on this theme. An alternative is to do 90 report via mail if your immigration office has that option. -

Any change to TM30 situation?
DrJack54 replied to steve0101's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you entered Thailand visa exempt then you will apply for 30 day extension at IT Mall LakSi. Most likely they require a TM30 and yes checking into a hotel should work.. Obviously check with hotel first that they will give you screenshot of the filing -

Spot on. Not to mention ongoing insurance requirements for each extension (unless married) and last entry prior to expiry of the non O-A visa. OP best to kill off the non O-A as outlined in your post quoted above
