I realise this would be too much for Thailand but in Queensland AU. when you rent a property the tennant pays 4 weeks rent as a deposit or bond and the Landlord has to deposit the money into the Government Bond Board. The money stays there until the end of the lease when the tennant applies for a refund. If there is any damages or money owing the landlord has to prove it to the Board and they make a decision on the amount of refund....not the landlord. A very good system that works very well.

hmmmm.never tried the ants...been sampling the Graku tablets lately...the usual flush but bad heartburn! ????
Did you know that Graku tabs that are sold as natural and herbal are not exactly that ? An internet search reveals that the FDA have put out are warning that they actually contain Viagra and Cialis. Thats ok, but some people cannot take these drugs safely and should be careful.

I always enjoyed Barretto, Olongapo,
NIce beach resort with a load of bars and resorts catering to foreigners, you could even buy Aussie meat pies. Didn't even need a VISA, you could turn up and stay for 3 years, many Australians and business managed/owned by Australians.
Baloy Long Beach was my favourite place to hang out, clear, clean water, beautiful sand.
I agree I always stay at Blue Rock Resort.

If the Philippines are so good why does your lady not live there?
It would be fair to say that she left home to go Australia as she probably came from a poor family and is working 3 jobs to support her family in the Philipines.

The normal problem with plastic getting into the environment is that it breaks down into micro-particles that are extremely injurious to marine and terrestrial life.
Plastics mixed in with asphalt however, are bound in a way that prevents them breaking down into micro-particles.
In addition, according to the research, these composite roads "have better wear resistance than standard asphalt concrete roads. They do not absorb water, have better flexibility which results in less rutting and less need for repair. Road surfaces remain smooth, are lower maintenance, and absorb sound better."
great idea but i see a problem. when they get a pothole in the road the council workers would need hundreds of different shaped pieces in their truck to fit into the jigsaw....see picture.

Watching the Channel 32 news right now, and it sounds like the case has been solved. Seems it was a Thai man. 2 men and a woman (his wife) have been identified as the culprits. Seems he was drinking to much for the wife and had a Mia Noi, and the wife had enough.
No sense of umour tat wife.!!!

You can try more salt, more magnesium and B vitamins. I had severe cramps and only vitamin B pills helped in the end. I ate a lot of tofu and vegetables at this time. Perhaps I did not have enough B12. Since I take vitamin B pills occasionally I never had a problem again. If I stop them I will get cramps after a while again.
Years ago when I worked in underground mines we were told to take salt tablets everyday to replace the salt/elecrolites that we sweated out and they worked .Now salt tablets are frownded upon by doctors. Sometimes I think the old remedies were better.

Just be careful that they don't say for instance that you paid only with 500 Baht or even only with 100 if you gave them 1000. Happened to me already two times. I don't pay with big notes there anymore. I always use Tops or Big C. Never ever had a problem there.
When I pay with a large note in a 7/11 I hold up the note and announce loudly what it is for all to hear. This prevents any problem with the memory of the shop assistant.

I could tell you many bad stories of my medical experience here in Thailand. The worst was a wrongly diagnosed lung cancer at one of the top hospitals here. A doctor on the Philippines clarified this within minutes when he saw my x-rays and scans - he could not believe such a stupid diagnosis. I better don't write here what he said. Many of the doctors there studied in the US. And my dentist over there is one of the best I ever had.
What is not so good is the infrastructure for Western people in respect of transportation and accommodation. In respect of food - it is up to you what you cook. But it should be a paradise for Americans - endless fast-food restaurants.
I would recommend the philipines if you are planning to retire and find a wife who can look after you when you get older.Phillipinas generally make good wives and they can speak perfect english which is a good start for sure As others have said immigration and visas etc. are easier than Thailand but infrastructure and transport services are nowhere near as good .When it comes to medical if you have the money there are good doctors and hospitals and for minor problems the local hospitals are adequate and very cheap. As far as safety and security goes depends where you go but I think that Thailand is on the whole safer.

A high percentage of chinese companies that invest around the world are state owned. You wouldnt know going by the name but they are.

Surely once a hotel is deemed a quarantine facility it is no longer possible to book in as a normal guest?
In Australia the quarantine hotels are open to the public..but I think they put the covid guests on seperate floors. I doubt that I would book into such a hotel.

To be fair, this is the sort of innovative spirit that allowed a small windswept island to rule the world.
The reason why the crime rate is so low in Singapore is because the gov. is so strict and dont fxxxk around dishing out big penalies if you break the law.Its a pity other countries such as Australia wouldnt follow suit.

bandaid solution; upgrade driving skills here by requiring road tests, to be passed
I would have thought that making all drivers complete a proper practical driving test or defensive driving course was the best way to go.
