I know of one that had a lovely mature lady that he came to live with for three months every year. For her age she was a good looker and did tend to all of his needs while he was there. Except one time she said she had got a job in a bank in a different town, but not too far away, while he was in Thailand. Everything was accepted but she lost her new job after a week.

In reality she had 6 mentors paying her money from overseas and would normally be able to coordinate the visits, but one arrived unexpectedly for a surprise visit. Most of us knew what she was doing but she was still a charming women looking after her men.

The relationship ended after the above episode but he was better off with her than the next one that got him.

Good story and if one of the boyfriends happen to visit out of turn She will take one out of town and when the other one goes to the bar where she works he will be told by her workmates that mama sick lady go back village. dont know when come back.which is B.S..

I would’ve said Queens Park Plaza but that closed last year. There are various bars scattered around soi 22 and it’s sub-sois that have some connection to Washington Square but that’s about it.

Of course nobody’s drinking anywhere now due to this accursed virus.

Yes, its sad to see the old places  gone .Bourbon street was a great restaurant  /bar great food and cold beer run by the yank but he had to move out and has relocated.I had some great fun over the years  at the New Square One bar. It was pretty run down in the finish but the girls were great and Taffy the boss used to go home early and after that there no rules... if you know what I mean .Just fun fun fun.!! Oh those were the days.

thai governement should strenghten road traffic rules and promote driving schools construction.

so far, road accidents have killed more people in thailand than the infamous covid, i reckon

You are right. Last week more people died in road accidents in one day (80 ) than the whole total of covid deaths (69) at the time.

Whether its allowed or not, why do people have to wait until they receive orders to do something? If you are allowed, surely its better to ask yourself if you need to travel or not taking account of the risks associated with human contact?  Governments can only go so far, at the end of the day each and everyone of us has a duty to behave responsibly.

Well said K. Whilst the Covid is around anyone who doesnt have a good reason to travel anywhere should just stay where they are until it settles down. In Australia thousands of people set off interstate for holidays .There was an outbreak of the virus and the states slammed the borders SHUT leaving them stranded  and unable to get home without 14 days hotel Quarantine at $3000 AUD. In these uncertain times you are better off to stay where you are so you dont get caught out.

Right, but not even draconian Australia would be so protective of citizens as to ban alcohol sales. For me it says a lot of a negative nature that Thailand's knee jerk reaction to elections, religions and covid is for the government to ban alcohol sales. Limiting people's ability to move around would seem a more reasonable first stage restriction than banning alcohol sales. And if stuck in lockdown with curfews, banning alcohol sales as happened last time seems a particularly cruel restriction to apply.

Last march when the covid got serious and  the Australian gov. introduced the lockdowns, they closed all non - essential premises but left hardware stores and bottle shops open and even gave cafes and restaurants that could only do takeaways a special license to sell alcahol with their orders. This was done so the people could live some kind of normal life and whilst they were home could do renovations at home and have a well earned beer after-wards.This kept the wife happy and also supported the busineses and maintained employment .In fact many of them thrived and took on extra staff. This is gotta be the way to go rather than close everything down.

Interesting that we never hear of anyone in the military or government getting the disease. Military is supposed to be patrolling the Burma border where all this disease is supposed to be coming from and government reps seem to want to visit any area where there is an outbreak to show they are “in control” yet other than Anutin’s voluntary quarantine nothing. Are they all immune or too big a “loss of face” risk to report those numbers??

The answer is simple..they dont test them..NO test  -= NO covid..Get it ????

They have a few....probably none working now, but after something like 3 million fines sent out, I think only 3% were paid.....no-one cares!

Thats the whole point .these cameras cost a lot of $$ to put in and maintain and if nobody pays the fines its not viable.if they had demerit points system and cancelled the speedsters licence..that wouldnt work either because most of them probably dont have one.

I remember when it was fixed and there was a big fuss. The winning numbers were 00.

They made it more transparent and got new machines,

How could that possibly happen ??? Surely they would have representitives from the Justice Dept. , the Military and the Police Dept.to supervise the draw ..surely !

No but there is scientific proof that people who drink flaunt the rules more then those who dont. Getting drunk during a meal is harder as getting drunk in a bar. It makes perfect sense. Just not to bar goers who see their fun being curbed.

So does that mean that you can go into a bar/ rest. and drink 15 pints and then have meal and you wont get drunk???

    From the factcheck link...

“Ultraviolet is able to kill COVID-19 if it is exposed to the concentrated UV ray in a certain amount of time and distance,” Dr. Pokrath Hansasuta, an assistant professor of virology in Chulalongkorn University’s Department of Microbiology, explained to AFP by phone on March 18, 2020. “However, that level of UV exposure is harmful to human’s skin. Most likely, it will be in the light bulb or lamp as the natural UV from the sun is not strong enough to kill it.”

    From your link

'While UVC lights are used commercially in products like phone disinfecting devices, UVC light can cause severe burns of the skin and eye injuries.2 “They need to be properly positioned to avoid causing eye or skin damage, which is essentially sunburn,” Nelson says.'

It appears they both say the same thing, but the first refutes the original claim by Icelandman that Thailand has less covid because of UV (via sunlight).

    Again, from your link..

"UVA and UVB rays are transmitted through the atmosphere. All UVC rays are absorbed by the Earth’s ozone layer, but the UVC rays are often used in commercial light disinfecting devices. UV-LEDs are a form of UVC lights. "

Which also suggests that sunlight (UV) that we receive has had the useful UVC rays removed and is thus not useful in virus killing.

Conclusion: UV via sunlight, does not kill covid19 and Thailand's figures are, therefore, not low because of UV.

    It's something else (unspecified).

Yeah I know what it ..the government health minister failed mathematics at school...
