One proffessors as of 25 years experience and a quiet a few Dr who say this virus is not killing people as made out to be doing asked Boris how can a virus be identified in such a short time, they are saying it takes years to identify as does making a vaccine what works, what I would like to know is after all the quarantine, lockdowns, tiers 1,2,3,and 4 and the magical vaccines don't work will we just able to get on with our lives
I agree we have just got to get on with our lives .protect the vulnerable who are aged or have underlying medical problems..yes. but the rest of us just carry on as normal. We cannot go on for ever like this. And by the way ..the death toll of covid is only around 5% and most of those are over 65 and had comorbidity and had 1 leg in the grave already.

Thais eat a lot more white rice which has a high glycemic index and results in type 2 diabetes.
The Philipines has goes the same way as Thailand. Since the people started eating western/american style food like burgers ,chips, kfc instead of their normal food so many are overweight and have diabetes.

I'm encouraged, four days ago it looked like we were at the start of a rapid (if not exactly exponential) growth in case numbers. Now it looks as if the control measures might be having an effect. This is three weeks after the four-day long-weekend we had in December, and there don't seem to be any clear signs yet that the nationwide travel during that period spread the virus in any serious manner. And don't forget that, three days ago, the disease control dept warned us that there were still a lot of test results in the pipeline and we would see these coming through over the next week, resulting in high case numbers. Hopefully, what we're seeing now is just that, and the underlying trend of what's actually happening in terms of falling case numbers is masked by the backlog of positive test results. Maybe I'm being over-optimistic, but I certainly hope not.
I really think its time to put this vovid pandemic into perspective.Last Friday 80 people died on the roads in Thailand..in the last 4 days 267 (these figures dont include people who died after the event } In recent days there were 216 new case of covid 19...the total number of deaths..64.So what do we do ?? PANIC, Total Lockdown CURFEW .BUT more people died in one day from road accidents than from covid in almost a year since it started !!! So lets take all cars.busses, trucks and @ motorbikes away and and close all highways , roads and streets and everybody can walk around ....problem solved ..no more deaths. How about that ?????

theThai. government has done many wrong things concerning this virus, but I agree with this one, just because you have jab does not say poof it is gone and all is well, it is possible you could still be breathing out the virus and what of a change of cloths, and old cloths burned, plus all new vaccines since the first one ever, has had floors and have had to be stopped or altered, I for one of millions am not ready for a rushed vaccine lets see how things are in6 months after all this time that is not long to see the outcome
Very good point.Vaccines in the past took 18 months to 2 years to develop but these have been rushed out because of the "covid panic". Who knows how good they will turn out to be in the log run so you cant blame them for being cautious can you ?? It wont worry Big Pharma they will still make big $$$$.

When it is proven I am sure they will reverse this decision. Pretty sure they are not idiots.
The UK has started vaccinations, but also just had their worst week for infections which will probably lead to the worst month for deaths in January and February and have a new mutant highly infectious strain that is now making itself around the world because of people traveling.
The only countries who are vaccinating currently rushed into it out of need. So we don’t really want them here do we.
If they don’t want to abide by Thailand’s rules, then bad luck, stay home. Look what happened at the Swiss ski resort.
I applaud this sensible decision.
The Australian authaurities have announced the same as Thailand re quarantine.

I had this especially in Vietnam and on the Philippines. Often they have a hidden button that let's the meter jump further. I always watch the meter and if the counting looks suspicious I immediately stop the taxi and get out.
And never pay before you got your luggage from the trunk space.
And avoid taxis that are waiting for customers.
And...
I got a taxi once from Manilla airport and after going only 50 metres the meter was 60 Pesos. The flagfall was 30. When I got my wife to challenge him he first denied that there was something wrong with his meter but after she called b.s he reached under the meter and hit a button that put it back to 30 Pesos. So when we got to our hotel I deducted another 30 Pesos off the bill NO tip and told him what I thought of him .He wasnt happy and spun his wheels as he drove out with several people waiting out the front of the hotel laughing at him.30 Pesos was only 50 cents but it was the principle.

I read many online articles about this, and am puzzled as to how a cardiologist can prescribe one of the many many meds available out there from a preliminary exam/check up/ECG/ pressure chart. And as many articles say, if the meds are not working or give you side effect, go talk with him and change to another of the many many available. It's hit & miss.
For a Cardiologist to be wualified he probably has to do 15 years of study and training plus further study after that..Me -thinks they would know a bit more about the human heart than DR. GOOGLE !!

Dr Taweesilp gave three projections, with the worst case scenario being 18,000 daily new cases by January 14th.
This doctor might not know what other countries currently experience.
Last week in Germany from Friday to Saturday 55,000 new infections and more than 500 deaths.
Is it possible that they are dreaming and talk out of their thingy?
The numbers could easily be much higher, no need to be a doctor, or a fortune teller.
What nobody has mentioned here yet is how many people with serious illness such as stroke., heart attack, diabetes lung diseases , cancer, etc. are admitted to hospital ,are tested for covid and later when they die are recorded as cause of death ...COVID.They were gonna die anyway..saves the doctors doing a post mortem. How many times has this happened around the world I ask.????

The weather bureau uses the same computer modelling to predict weather events such as floods, droughts., rainfall and cyclones etc....how accurate are they.???

Back in March, the government directed the response centrally on the advice of the CCSA, and as far as I'm aware they never ignored or over-ruled it. They delegated certain decisions to the provincial governors, but they usually did the least that could be expected of them, you may remember that at one stage there seemed to be a small competition between some of them as to who could impose the harshest restrictions.
Now they seem to have delegated everything to provincial level and sidelined the CCSA, which is presumably why we're getting all these dire forecasts from them. The CCSA has shown that it's competent and capable of handling the situation, at least in the early stages of an outbreak, so why on earth isn't Prayut listening to them any more? We need doctors and scientists leading the response, not corrupt local politicians with all their business friends pressuring them not to shut anything down.

Australia has a similar problem. The Prime Minister set up a federal cabinet that met every week or so and all state Premiers were given the latest advice and recommendations regarding the best way to handle the virus from the government expert panel .However each premier had there own ideas and some states put in restrictions, some partial lock-down,some closed their borders altogether. Its been a total mess and has destroyed some states economies and confused everybody.

It is not just your liver, your brain, your heart all your organs you should worry about.

Dont worry about your liver .Its the only organ in the body that can re-generate.If your liver is destroyed by liquor...just grow another one.

with 60 official dead in 10 months, with 65.000.000+ thai people
why would thailand get priority ???
or even get a vaccine for a disease you have to get tested, to know you have it
and maybe most of us have it and got over it, in the magical thailand
Good point..NO testing..NO covid..Who needs a vaccine ?? The smart countries prepared for this a long time ago by investing in the R@D of the vaccine and therefore got to pre order supplies .e.g. Australia ordered 50 million doses to be ready by March 2021.

TAT press ahead: Governor expects TEN MILLION foreign tourists in 3rd Quarter
REUTERS file photo for reference only
Thailand's Tourism Authority governor said he is pressing ahead with attracting ten million foreign tourists to visit the country.
Yutthasak Suphasorn said they wouldn't be coming until the third quarter of 2021 but then they would be here in their millions.
That was the target.
And they would be spending a whopping 500 billion baht, he told Thai PBS.
Even though there has been a new wave of Covid-19 infections he was anxious to stress that it was still all systems go to return Thailand to mass tourism.
Even the New Year period was destined to be good, he said on Friday, with 2.7 million Thais expected to travel spending 17 billion baht in the process.
The lack of lockdown would help along with clear guidelines of how to handle visits from tourists in tourism areas.
The upbeat message comes as Thaivisa reports today of complete obliteration of tourism at New Year in Rayong and a desolate Christmas on once thriving Koh Samui.
In Rayong nearly 100% of seaside tours were cancelled and hotel bookings were down 80%.
Thaivisa notes that there appears a strong disconnect between reality on the ground and the pronouncements of the TAT governor.
Yutthasak was with the Digital Council of Thailand and health authorities on Christmas Day promoting an online platform for booking 14 day ASQ and ALQ quarantine facilities.

Not exactly..Firstly any new Vaccine / drug must be approved by the government health department and deemed to be safe. After that if a Hospital or Medical centre can sourse supplies of said product then their doctors can decide who gets it and who doesnt. Otherwise there would be all kinds of fake medications being used that have not been tested and are not safe.

There's a bit of hypocrisy going on with the Australian complaint about UK pensions. When the Australian government paid out the COVID stimulus cheques to pensioners, I did not get one. AFAIK no-one deemed to be living overseas did.
I would say that the reason you didnt get your cheque was that the whole idea was to stimulate the economy by spending the money Australia so if you are living Thailand you cant do this. Does that sound fair ??

Australia has a different Pension system to the U.K. Everyone who meets the criteria gets a Pension automaticly and you dont have to pay into any government fund.Yes you pay your taxes all your working life but they brought in compulsory superanuation contributions from your employer which is paid into your own private account into which you can add your own money. The idea of this according to the gov is that you will live off your own money when you retire and you wont need their pension saving them $$$$$ They insist that in Australia a Pension is a a priviledge not a right .If you dont have enough in your fund they will supplement your income so you dont go hungry.
