    About time.

    Senario:

If I had a business, and according to Thai law, I would not be allowed to lift a finger, not even to clean an ashtray!

The ironic thing is, I"m allowed to pay for and invest in a business but must have a Thai partner that normally invests nothing, but they must hold 51% of the business shares that they did not pay for!!! Thai style fairness...Would you invest in Thailand? I know I would never do such a stupid thing. Wasted time, effort plus funds.

So, if I was reported or caught for cleaning said one astray, I could face a possible fine, the business shut down, incarceration, deportation, refused re-entry, some if not all just listed, so in my opinion beg-packers should also face the above possible outcomes as do those foreigners wishing to invest in a local Thai community, but are persistantly,  penalised for doing so.

In many other countries a Thai can own their own home, land, business, be accepted into the community, do almost any job, pay taxes, get free helth care, a pension and so on, but a foreigner in Thailand lives in an open prison, restricted but expected to pay for everything plus everyone and the extended lazy family plus hanger-ons with open.hands.. In the end, the foreginer ends up with nothing!

    The true T.I.T

I agree, excluding large companies that know how to break the law, only those who have no business sense invest in Thailand and their fate everything to lose

When the point comes I am denied entry or refused a VISA, I'll just abandon my son, step-daughter and gf.

And default on my mortgage repayments, already been looking at houses in France.

But I'd rather it was the Thai government everyone sees as the 'bad guy', than me seen as a 'deadbeat dad'.

Too old to worry about other people now, I only think of me.

I agree, nice country France, I see for buy house next future too.

I have asked this at several hotels regarding a future booking, and most of them say No, must book online.

At one hotel in Pattaya they offered me their own computer to extend for a couple of nights, they would not take the cash!

Not only Thailand, this the norm most country if you have reserved with web site Airbnb or similar, and many Hotel have contract with them

It's like Amazon or any other "big site of small shops"; you must check who you are buying from !

Many times, for a same item, cheapest prices come from shops that are new (a few months at best) with no (or few) comments and rating...

For a few baht more, you will find the same item from a shop doing business on AliExpress or Shoppee from several Years and with globally good Comments and Rating.

Guess from which one I will buy ?

The problem is China product sale with not fair-play, only make money and scam is current way, also Amazon not escape, read this  https://wolfstreet.com/2019/11/11/murky-business-of-chinese-merchandise-on-amazons-us-site/
