Here's a review of the EVA air business class between LAX and TPE. The passengers have their own "pods" and there is no way a passenger is going to encroach on the personal space of another. Also, there is mention of how the business class toilets are very spacious and the seats fully recline, complete with sheets and blankets. Looks like a very nice way to travel. Someone would have to be very large indeed not to be able to fit into this seat.

31 stone = 434 lbs = very large indeed. He would not fit into those seats.

animatic, I'm sorry for the loss of your friend.
The article in The Sun claimed that your friend said his hand was injured which is why he requested assistance from the flight attendants. That would be a logical explanation about why the incident happened.
The toilets in business and first class are definitely bigger than those in economy. You get what you pay for. Now that Hubby and I are getting older, we opt for business class on long flights so we can actually get some sleep and prevent swollen ankles, etc.
Your friend made the mistake I've seen many others make. Men who come to Thailand every year and are very familiar with making the journey. However, as they age and develop health problems they forget that they aren't as resilient as they used to be and what used to be an OK journey at age 55 becomes a grueling trial at age 75. Why not pay for business class and stay overnight in the transit city? After all, it's not like you can take your fortunate with you and that trip to Thailand could very well kill you.
It sounds like man was too large to fit in a single business class seat so he did what he had to do. It's unfortunate that the tone of the article is what it is.
FWIW I always fly business on trips back to the states. If I don't have the money for a business class ticket, I don't go.

From the normally Trump-hating New York Times no less.
Barr Is Right About Everything. Admit You Were Wrong.
After Trump’s vindication, the liberal media and its allies in government should face a reckoning. I’m not holding my breath.

The only thing the Dems have is this smear campaign against Trump. They have no candidate, no issues, no crimes against Trump, nothing except the smear campaign which has gone on since the day he announced his candidacy. The voters see through it and Trump will win in 2020.

The Democratic party is toast. They put all their eggs into the "get Trump" basket and lost. It makes no difference who they run, it will be Trump in 2020.

President Trump is indeed completely fit to be president and this is why he was elected "fair and square" in 2016. He will be reelected in 2020 as the US continues to benefit from his policies.

Thai immigration, or should I say the Thai government, will realise some day that the more expats and long time stayers that they chase away, the more their income stream will go down and they will find out that they will have to find ways to encourage expats and long term stayers to start coming here again.
While I'm here, what does OTOH stand for? Looks like we have another member of "the lazy typists brigade".
Thaivisa is a social media forum on the internet, therefore people use abbreviations that all experienced internet users understand. You can Google OTOH to find out what this common abbreviation means, unless you're a member of "the lazy typists brigade."

From reading the Mueller report, officials (starting with Barr) know that the best way to save their head is to refuse to obey Trump's attempts to obstruct justice.
In the context that the perpetrators of the attempted coup will be brought to justice.

Southern and again I'm right. Not literally, but in so many words, Barr telegraphed my sig line.
It's all in automatic now. Nothing anyone can do about it since the new sheriff is going to do the right thing.

5 hours ago, Jingthing said:Yes, it's a political decision. I don't agree with you that it would be that damaging if congress impeaches and the Quislings in the senate don't convict. This isn't Bill Clinton. This isn't about lying about adult consensual sex. This is ten counts of obstruction of justice and countless counts of presidential abuse of power. Mueller left it for congress to decide. It isn't for Barr or Fox News to decide. Mueller respected that a sitting president can't be indicted. But he was very clear, a sitting president CAN be impeached, and that's what the constitutional power of impeachment is about -- situations like this. But because of the timing now with 2020 coming up, of course it's still a political decision about whether to proceed. I have no predictions yet. It's way too early to know whether they will proceed but it's not too early to see they have strong grounds to proceed.
A count means a criminal charge. There are no counts, no criminal charges. Impeach away, I say. Trump will just call it out for what it is and it will end up helping him in 2020. No matter what happens, Trump will win in 2020.
The only criminal charges coming out of this will be against Obama and his gang for attempting the bloodless coup.

Yes. This goes all the way to Obama. Under normal circumstances, I would have believed Obama would skate, but not this time. There's a new sheriff in town and he's aiming for truth and justice as he has recently demonstrated. Obama's going down along with Brennan and all the others.

Lots of people 50+ yo are leaving CM due to the changes in the Immigration laws. So for those of us who remain, will things be better or worse? I could see things getting better once those who are living essentially at the poverty line leave. Some I know spend their days complaining about the cost of things and trying to squeeze the Thais for every last baht, thus giving us all a bad name. OTOH, those of us who remain may end up worrying about when the next shoe will fall. Will Immigration raise the financial requirements from 800000 THB to a million, or two? It could happen and one might ask why wouldn't it happen?
So will CM improve or get worse for retirees?

Barr has telegraphed to the American people that he knows what happened and will pursue it. It's a given that Obama will be charged, no doubt about it. But IMO it's important to remember that Obama like all Americans deserves the presumption of innocence until he is found guilty in a court of law. Not sure when that might happen, maybe even after Trump's reelection, but it's hard to believe Obama will skate, given the mountain of evidence against him.

This is horrible. This worldwide idea seems to be to convince people that working until you drop dead at your desk is a good thing.
No one ever said on their death bed, "I wish I would have spent more time at the office."
Reminds me of the movie The Bridge Over the River Kwai where the head of the prison camp says "Let us be happy in our work"

"The party of inclusion" front runners are old white CIS gendered males. They really should run the "most qualified woman" candidate like last time. She barely lost and did indeed win the popular vote.
Trump 2020 is guaranteed.
