  1. I've done it before so I don't see any reason why you can't have a single re-entry followed by a further single if required.
  2. i.e. like myself, paid in advance. Sensible. You then have control of you pension weekly and transfer to a Thai bank account when the exchange rate is favourable.
  3. It turns out the story of an Indian tourist colliding into a jet ski and running away was incorrect and fabricated and the owner of the jet ski, which was unlicensed, that was involved in a fatal accident that took two lives is being charged. #Pattaya https://thepattayanews.com/2023/04/26/update-only-one-jet-ski-involved-in-fatality-of-8-year-old-kid-and-jet-ski-rider-in-pattaya/
  4. But the questions remains, how will the fee be collected? According to the Tourism and Sports Minister, Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, the starting date of the Thailand Tourism Fee (TTF) has been postponed from June to 1 September 2023 to ensure that the TTF system will operate smoothly, https://twitter.com/prdthailand/status/1651110521628946437
  5. Correct. You get an 8 digit account number and a sort code.
  6. It must be that time already. The Supreme Administrative Court orders National Anti-Corruption Commission to reveal its findings of their investigation into the undeclared luxury watches of Dep-PM Prawit Wongsuwan, leader and top candidate of the ruling @PPRPofficial. The NACC cleared him in 2018. https://twitter.com/SaksithCNA/status/1649306782781837313
  7. Reminds of the Bentley driver. (1/2) A 20-year-old Mercedes Benz driver was charged with drunk driving and causing harm to another person after he rammed his new car into a motorcycle taxi rider and escaped, said police Thursday. The incident took place on Sunday at night at Rama IX Intersection. #Thailand (2/2) The driver confessed but said he wasn't aware he hit someone & sped away because he found himself surrounded by 20 motorcyclist taxi drivers. The man has negotiated to pay 50K bt to compensate to the rider & damaged bike after being demanded 100K bt. https://twitter.com/KhaosodEnglish/status/1648966457861210112
  8. I understood links to Bangkok Post were not allowed in this forum? Reading the full report, it directs you to the source namely the B.P.
  9. Referring to report from the B.P. Link not provided. Richard Barrow: No surprises here. Airlines have come back to tell the Minister of Tourism that they won’t add an additional fee for certain groups of passengers. The mishandling of this unpopular tourist tax has done much to damage #Thailand’s reputation abroad. And it hasn’t even started.
  10. A simple search will tell you that US passport holders do not need a visa to enter the Netherlands.
  11. A full blood test you would pay no more B700.
  12. I remember reading a report very similar to this about 23 yrs ago. Nothing will ever change regardless of whatever government rules Thailand.
  13. Correct, and Wise Ltd is accepted as one of those UK based accounts.
  14. Perhaps someone can enlighten me as to why many members here are paid their state pension either 4 or 13 weeks in arrears. For the past 18 months or so, I requested and this was approved by state pension, to pay me weekly using Wise Ltd, i.e. payments in advance rather than 4 weekly payments in arrears. Every 4/5 weeks I transfer to a Thai bank. Admittedly, there is always 3 or more weeks payments on hold in Wise. Pros: Payments in advance - wait for a decent exchange rate. Cons: 3 or more weeks payments tied up in Wise.
  15. Another useless report which wont go any further.
  16. All Thai banks will be open as normal on the Monday.
  17. BANGKOK — The long-awaited relaunch of Thailand’s Songkran festival could be overshadowed by the country’s air pollution. In the northern city of Chiang Mai, a thick haze of air pollution has been present in recent weeks, and experts are warning that conditions are likely to hamper tourism surrounding the upcoming national holiday. https://www.voanews.com/a/thailand-s-air-quality-could-cloud-songkran-festival/7037810.html
  18. I would guess that as from Monday 17 April, there will be no more water throwing.
  19. A doctor in Chiang Mai urges tourists to postpone their holiday. “Our local economy depends on tourism but a responsible host would put their guests’ health concerns above anything else.” So why is TAT still promoting #Songkran? Why aren’t embassies issuing travel updates? https://twitter.com/RichardBarrow/status/1644150184430153729 CHIANG MAI CITY LIFE: 6% of death in Thailand due to air pollution, according to Chiang Mai University oncologist https://www.chiangmaicitylife.com/clg/living/6-of-death-in-thailand-due-to-air-pollution-according-to-cmu-oncologist
