Sure, unless you are in a condo and the local wifi has no batterybackup and you dont have data to share on your phone (cheap and easy)
-
Depending on what your needs are, I found at home , YES, power that router as long as you can, turn off big screens/PC get onto the Notebook/tab to continue work. I even got a puresine wave inverter which I feel from the trucks battery, works well. Then there are the condos which dont have any backup so the inernet dies anyways. So considering mobile data is so cheap now it seems kinda pointless to battle the outages... yes I trade online and spend all day and half the night online.. so in that is my thought: spending say 8000 vs 1500 THB to gain 1 hour on my big PC seems kina pointless... however, can power the notebook for hours so that could be worthwhile.. but even though I have quite some sums floating up/down in the market I can easily use my phone/tab all day if needs.. yes the charts are <deleted> but I can get by until go to a nice cafe and sit there all day... So my take on the expence of a vps and that you should change the batts every 2 years (costs) which seems to be my last smoky scary short out (4 years I think) on an AOC 1400 I think a small 1400 thb just enough to turn of my big pc in the middle of writing a big email or such. Again, why spend x 10 and still go to the cafe? What is important is it seems the cheaper units dont have spike protection and wont protect your hardware.. my ol APC 1400 use to switch and slide when power was unstable, seems to work well.... All the best guys.. POWER to yee all

A very good topic... but powerstips will not give you and power... you need batteries for that.. in fact they can hardly handle s decent spike/drop..

Transfer stamp to new passport
Seeall replied to pontious's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Transfer Stamp to A New Passport Form 1/ Does anyone have this for applicable for Phuket? I have spent days looking for a good one, they all seem slightly different.. 2/ Now came across some the Bank Book copy at times.... 3/ Can't find any info of the amount of mess they will stick in the new passports, there were a couple of posts that its a certain stamp that simply shows old/new numbers . (Seems clever.... if true) 4/ 90Day due 13 days time, of course the online not working, and I can imagine trying to 90 day at office with a clipped old PP (is it just me or are most passports getting less and less pages? Seems even that is the modern goverments business model) 5/ No mention of time limit to transfer.... despite PIV site saying "ALL info here" Let me know if anyone is interested in this "adventure" and I will post it (it most likely not that popular as its not day to day..) Thanks all, stay safe and enjoy... -

Expatvac was exclusively Pfizer - NO!! When I went for my Pvac there was another guy that had organised to have AV (which was an option on the for for me too) The organises told him over and again to insiste on AV which he did depite one all wise nurse loadly saying they are only doing Pziser that day... so he insisted, saw the bottle and got what he wanted.... once again, dont beleive anything, and even then things can be "adjusted"

TIME to bring in AUD!!!
Seeall replied to Seeall's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
As for investments as opposed to my short term trading... I comment on BTC .. (bitcoin) all the hype news.. I say its a <deleted> of a chart (I am a chartist) but as an investment its hard to ignore... sure if elon farts it might drop 50 % but... considering inflation is eronding our cash, and the fact the govsare printing paper money against fund they dont have (like the old gold) are you really comfortable haveing your life savings floating in the bank? erroding at inflatioary rtes of 8%/year? just look at my charts and simple buy on dips.... anyways, again, just giving some of my stuff out there YOUR WELCOME .... -

Just giving back to this site as a thanks for all the helpful people here , like ubonjoe over the years... thanks. I am a trader.. I not sure I posted this in the correct area... anyways.... the THN has dropped... the TH gove will most likely intervene and inject to ptop it up, so now is a good time to move funds at a good price. Transferwise is very good for small amounts.. nice how you can lock in rates for 24/72 hours.. but dont play around too much or get banned... AU/THB keeps pushing up.. I waiting for the top... As for big money you can actually nefotiate with the banks...like hold cash and realease it at the best rate... many tricks... DONT convert to THB in home country thats the worst scam... thanks all have a great day... you are welcome... how often do people give? yeah thats me.. thanks all

The old TH bandwidth again... the tech I have gotten to know laughs at all this and says we are luck to get 3mb ... all these tests not real and waste of money on the "2000 mbs" ads.... there might be still the real highspeed option, as it bypasses the TH bottleneck to outside TH but not many I know want to pay 4k-5k / month for it.... might be more viable if apartments share router wifi on one account. a few years back I want back to ADSL from fibre and it was faster... yes, 10 years of this on 4 properties... seems best to download during your browsing/whatever day and build a collection.. stick em on a drive and share with your local friends...
