  1. I have one of these and I gave another one away to a poster here. If I didn't get free wall boxes from MG, VAG & BYD, I would still be using mine now. IMHO there's no point in paying for a wall box when one of these is functionally equivalent. Further, if you are fitting a wall box, fit one of these 32 amp plug & sockets in-between the consumer unit and the wall box so you can take the wall box with you if you move. My ABB wall box is on a 32 amp plug.
  2. They have anti-Islanding software built-in, I’m not sure exactly how they know, but they certainly do and they all shut down simultaneously.
  3. Yes, I have 3 of 6Kw grid-tied inverters. It’s too many, but 6-9kw is fine.

    Aircon

TCL are excellent and can be operated almost silent, can't hear them at all. 9000 BTU budget about 7,500 baht
  5. Then both you and pattaya beer garden broke the law.
  6. You cut my quote, I said in Thailand. Thailand's Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) is barring cryptocurrencies as a method of payment, starting 1 April 2022, citing financial security concerns. https://research.hktdc.com/en/article/MTAyNDg1MDk5Nw#:~:text=Thailand's Security and Exchange Commission,assets%2C which are still permitted.
  7. Pizza Plus is one of my favorites too, I usually go for the Turkish Pizza and my daughters choose Spaghetti Carbonara and Spaghetti Seafood Kee Mao. Great food and nice hosts.
  8. Whether you can overtake safely at all depends on several factors, is it a straight road? Any risk of traffic joining the road from a junction on the RHS? Road surface? How far away is any approaching traffic? And does your car have the performance to execute the maneuver safely? With approaching traffic the performance of your car is key to being able to execute the maneuver safely. I think we will have to agree to disagree on this. I appreciate your point of view.
  9. Actually it’s the safest way. You should keep the time you are overtaking to a minimum. On the highway between chiangMai and Chiang Rai you may be doing 70 or 80 km an hour behind a long six wheel truck, the faster you can complete the maneuver the safer it is. I have had a few Rolls Royce’s in my time, here’s my first with a 31 year old JBChiangRai.
  10. The key words is there are "holding cryptocurrency and utility tokens", not trading them.
  11. I use all the power of my Seal Performance when overtaking in the dry, I could use a lot more power. The issue with high power is grip. I drive slower than most in the wet, in the dry I will use all the performance in a straight line and some of it around bends. The Seal is under-tyred, changing the weels for an 1" wider helped, but it's still under-tyred in the wet or on dusty surfaces. A German performance EV's tyres are typically around a third wider at the rear to get the grip and are a lot safer in the wet. At what point do we say there is too much power or you can't use it on the public highway? A Seal with 530bhp? A lotus with 905bhp? A Bugatti Tourbillon or Rimac Nevera with 2,000 bhp? It's down to the driver to judge when and how much power he can use. I haven't heard anyone say you can't use the power of a Tesla Model S Plaid and I think that is around 1,100 or 1,200 bhp.
  12. This post didn't age well.
  13. That's because you're not accustomed to fast cars. Some people would use all of that power and yearn for more.
  14. There's no VAT currently. I explained the tax situation very clearly for (say) BitKub if you are tax resident here. I'm aware some people dispute this because they are ignorant of the tax situation. Thailand Cryptocurrency Income Personal Tax - SHERRINGS The issue with Coinbase-UK bank-Thai bank is you could incur a CGT liability in the UK if you're a British Citizen, your UK bank should ask questions if it's over 10,000 GBP due to AML, when you bring it into a Thai bank, if you're tax resident you still have a liability here in Thailand even though you're bringing FIAT (overseas capital gains are subject to PIT here when remitted unless following year with LTR visa).
  15. You misunderstand the nature of crypto. You can't "spend" it in Thailand, it's illegal to pay or receive payment for goods or services in Crypto. You need an off-ramp to Thai Baht. That means an exchange, all of them in Thailand practice KYC and you incur up to 35% tax liability. If you are a UAE or Singaporean resident it helps, no crypto tax there, but fundamentally you bring crypto or FIAT to Thailand, the former all counts towards Personal Income Tax.
  16. My promotion expires end of December 2026, maybe they extended it because of the other promotion. But you’re right, I will only be able to use a fraction of it, though it does make me think about driving to Khao Lak instead of flying
  17. I am hoping they don't extend the free charging promotion. I have 30,000 THB free charging credit for introducing another customer and the only place I want to use it is when I drive to Chiang Mai to see my daughters. I'm not prepared to queue for an hour to then be only able to share the charger with someone else. I may also do a road-trip next year but not if I have to take pot-luck whether I can charge or not. There is no point in me charging my car at BYD in Chiang Rai as most of the time one or two of my grid-tied inverters shut down because we are producing more solar power than can be used.
  18. Nothing that a plethora of stupid emoji's can't fix.
  19. Sorry you are wrong, Tax is paid under PIT rates, it could be as high as 35%. if you bought your coins on a authorized Thai exchange, then you pay personal income tax on the profit. If you bought your coins on a foreign or unauthorized exchange, then you pay personal income tax on the entire sale amount. I'm not posting what I think to be the case, I'm posting what I know to be the case.
  20. I think it is an area that needs exploring and professional advice. If you bought on BX the TRD probably don't have those records.
