Thai EV sales surge by 603% amid government incentives
Some condo management are more enlightened than others and have already installed charging points, but right now it’s very few. You could charge it at one of the many fast DC Chargers around, but it’s probably going to take you 20-30 minutes and whilst it’s still around 2-3 times cheaper than petrol/diesel, it’s probably 1.7 to 2 times more expensive than your own charging point. If I lived in a condo I would still have an EV but it’s too much hassle for many people.

Which electric scooter do you have?

He did say he has found a cheaper rental company.

Durability of Chinese EVs
Correct. My EV has a range a lot longer than I am comfortable doing without a break.

What utter tosh. Who knows EV’s better on this forum than those who drive and own them.

We have or have had 4 BEV’s, I will never buy an ICE car again. I enjoy the supercar like performance, the silence of the driving experience and waking up to a full tank of electrons. It’s also a big plus knowing it’s between 10 and 140 times LESS LIKELY to catch fire than a legacy ICE car and much less likely to break down as it has 100 times less moving parts than an ICE car.

Debit card scam
The only time I ever use my UK Credit Card is for renting a car there.

Debit card scam
I didn’t say it was, I asked if there was geographical correlation along with the temporal correlation.

Debit card scam
You have to look at this from the car rental company’s view too. All he knows is you booked a car with deposit and changed your mind. The fraudulent use of your card could have originated anywhere, and whilst there is a temporal correlation, it’s not conclusive evidence of it being from the car rental company. Are the Uber Eats transactions in the same city as the car rental company? Do you still need a rental car? I would still rent from there having put the manager on notice about the frauds and if I were the manager, I wouldn’t give you a refund either. Any (highly unlikely) future fraud would be dealt with by your bank in a timely fashion.

Durability of Chinese EVs
I should have said, No issues ever on the 3 BEV’s from China. A German BEV was trailered back to the main dealer in Bangkok 2 times for air conditioning failures. The German PHEV was trailered back to the main dealer in Chiang Mai once for a failed infotainment system.

Happy owner of 4 BEV’s and 1 PHEV here. No issues ever on the BEV’s.

I would go ahead with your booking but photograph and document every transaction.

7 day parking limit in condo
A window sticker doesn’t have to name the condo, it can just be a symbol. I lived in a condo 12 years ago, we had allocated parking. Every unit got a space and the two double units got 2 spaces. We still had problems with visitors and tenants taking other owners spaces.

Electric Vehicles in Thailand
I think you’ll find most EV drivers are very happy with their cars. In Europe the new version of the E Class is on sale, this campaign is on the old model, which I prefer. I think the dashboard on this model is superb. The manufacturers all seem to be in panic mode.

So they f?cked me twice, I paid 969k then drop to 869k and now 799k. I will definitely play hardball on my Cyberster order.

ICE vs EV, the debate thread
My youngest daughter has a 2019 Ciaz GL plus and we sold my other daughter’s 2018 Ciaz RS 18 months ago to get her the MG EV. The CIAZ is a bargain on the 2nd hand market and a fine car. I enjoy driving it.

I will stay around, don’t worry, or maybe you should worry! I’m not worried.

Are we saying Feb 24 EV registrations are less than Feb 23 EV registrations ? I don’t have the numbers to hand

Perhaps they were waiting for the model 3 refresh. At the end of last year there were only selling remaining inventory with few colors available.

Imagine this ! I would buy one
The mileage based charge is on the way in Western countries but it will be multi-tier, ICE will be more expensive, EV will be the cheapest, or maybe Hydrogen.

Imagine this ! I would buy one
that wouldn’t work as you can just plug into an ordinary socket. it would have to be an annual ownership tax or something like that
