Barbed Wire Fence in Moo Baan

No, the barbed wire went in yesterday. -

My mum always taught me "Neither a lender nor a borrower be". I have never financed anything (except houses/apartments in the UK), I am not sure we even can in Thailand, I would like a Thai credit card just for the EA Anywhere charging network though. -

I haven't noticed any vocal anti-merc or anti-bmw brigade here, but please feel free to start one if you feel it would be interesting -
And the scam I posted was exactly that. Item's arriving COD that Lazada tell you that you didn't order (the difference with this scam, is you think you did)

My nice neighbour has cut back his hedge on the 3 metre access road to his neighbours properties and installed barbed wire on the edge of the road. This road is the access road to more houses in the development and is often used for play and riding bicycles by a couple of 5 year old girls. One of the mothers has complained that she is worried, it could easily result in injury or death. The moo baan has never had a theft, home invasion or any other problem, I am interested in other members views.

Never order COD it's wide open to scams. For example, you order an expensive item COD on Lazada, it arrives and it's a housebrick, you complain to Lazada and they tell you that you didn't order it on their platform so get lost. And Lazada are correct, you didn't complete the sale on Lazada. Can you work out what happened? and btw, it happens all the time. If you can't work out what happened, ask me and I will tell you.

Someone posted a study a day or so ago of Tesla's, they have 82.5% battery remaining after 18 years equivalent of average mileage. Some early manufacturers of batteries took shortcuts and allowed you to operate between SoC 0% to 100%, nowadays they know better and lock off part of the battery for longevity. Some hybrid cars are guilty of using all the battery, some PHEV's use too much, but I think most, if not all, BEV manufacturer's have learned the lesson. The best side I can advise you to look at is www.batteryuniversity.com they explain the number of cycles depending on how you charge/discharge them. Let's not confuse battery recycling of mobile phone and laptop batteries, that's where most of the recycling is being done now.

Electric Vehicles in Thailand

I suspect the anti-EV brigade are fueled by jealousy. -

My EV has switchable ground clearance from 98mm to 140mm, mostly I drive it on 98mm, ride is comfortable and I only lift it for awkward situations. -
The problem with most electric bikes is they use heavy Lead Acid batteries, not so in China where they use a Lithium derivative. Some Chinese bikes are also available with Lithium but they are less price competitive. Look after your Lithium Battery based EV and expect to have over 80% capacity left after 20 years.

Electric Vehicles in Thailand

I expect Tesla prices to slide in Thailand to the price in China. Registered companies can import Tesla's made in China without tax, the model 3 is 1.3M baht in China. -
EV; seeking advice or suggestions.

You shouldn't get the same consumption, it makes me wonder if there is something wrong somewhere. The calorific content is a lot lower with Ethanol and the engine has to burn considerably more fuel to do the same amount of work. Maybe your engine was just running richer on E10 (regular gasohol). There are a lot of studies on the web about increased consumption with E85. -

JBChiangRai replied to Robin's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
E85 has about 70% of the energy content of 91 Gasohol (E10), so it needs to be a lot cheaper as your car will use a lot more of it. It's definitely not worth using today. -

His graphs look to have been sensationalised, not quite a logarithmic scale but definitely not a linear scale based on mileage. 82.5% battery capacity at 213,000 miles is not bad, taking the average of 12k per year, that's approaching 18 years of average use with over 80% of the battery left. I think it's probably likely that those 10 year old high mileage cars may have been supercharged more often which is a known factor for degradation. and probably charged to 100% every day which is against Tesla's advice. I read that report as saying look after your battery and it will outlast the life of the car. -
I think it hit an error trying my debit card and offered me a QR code, if I recall correctly

You might want to use EV Station PluZ, it's actually the only fast DC charger I have used. It was on highway 1 on my way to Kampheng Phet from Chiang Rai. Very trusting too, it let me charge my car then asked me how I want to pay for it.

I was at the MG dealer a week ago, she told me they were no longer accepting orders for MG EP+ with the 24% government incentive, it's back to 998k. She also told me to expect my 2nd MG EP+ between March & June next year (ordered in October). -

We have 2 EV's with a 3rd on order. A year ago maybe you would have range anxiety, not today, you are never further than 150km from an MG DC SuperCharger and if you add in all the vendors, a lot less than that. Certainly on the Superhighway they are every 10-50km approx. It's not just that they are cheaper to run over an extended period, it's the quality of the drive. NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) is what causes fatigue on long journeys, EV's don't have any of either. Regardless of whether you buy an EV, a Grid-Tied solar system is a no-brainer for anyone intending to spend 3 years or more in their current property. -
Problem with Lazada and Kerry delivery
JBChiangRai replied to PattayaKevin's topic in General Topics
Never use COD under any circumstances whatsoever, there are lots of scams with COD. In a dispute do you want Lazada holding your money or the transport company? (who may pay it out in minutes to a scammer). Here's another scam. You order COD, it arrives, you pay (you are not allowed to open the package until you do) and it's a housebrick. Lazada tell you that you completed the sale outside of Lazada so go fish. Have you figured out the scam? -
Pffft, of course it was Until late 2016/early 2017 their website was just a single page without the quote, they changed their focus in 2017 to additive chemistry, specifically around the area of cathodes I think. It would probably surprise you to know I do know my Lithium based batteries have a large solar installation at home with 28.8KWhr's of LiFePo4 batteries that I assembled myself into a pack with Ant BMS and Active Balancer. I also drive a 680hp Battery EV Car and have a degree in Electronic Engineering.

You are both wrong and out of date. Xilectric did do a project that ran from 10 years ago and finishing 7 years ago, but they are now focused on improving Lithium based based batteries, your quote wasn't from Xilectric.com but from the equally old US Department of Energy's Advanced Research Projects Agency, they also go on to state LiION batteries only give a range of about 100 miles. You're right "There is always one....."

Actually, on reflection, I could just use a double pole changeover contactor, I don't think there is anything in my daughter's house that would object to the absence of power whilst the contactor changes over, and I would use a Sonoff device to operate the coil, that way it's RTC would be synced to the internet.
-
Yes, you are right, PEA could change something without my knowledge, could you share a wiring diagram for your interlocked contactor setup?
