People think the government's data and digital systems are compartmentalized, they're not. Thailand 4.0 is all about knowing everything about everybody and with the right clearance being able to see a holistic view of an individual. Location (GPS) tracking, all phone calls, all SMS messages in & out, all emails, all bank accounts, all bank transactions, linking bank transactions to their GPS location, taxes paid, restaurant eating habits, flights, browsing history, search history, traffic fines, police station interaction, government office interaction, etc, etc, etc. For sure they will clawback unpaid traffic fines from your 10,000 baht digital wallet, same with o/s taxes.

You have to understand how the police system works to understand about BJ and the others. It starts with new recruits. They often have to "buy" their application. Once out on the streets, they are given a target by their immediate manager that they have to bring in each month, that gets handed up the line, everyone has a target except the Chief of Police. Everything the recruit brings in over & above that target, he can keep. If you play this game you get promoted. If you don't play the game then you never get promoted. What this means, is that everyone above the level of new recruit is corrupt. Not most of them, absolutely all of them. As you get promoted and often it gets competitive for roles, you play the game, sometimes you "buy" your new position and if you lose, you keep quiet and everyone's back is watched. BJ isn't playing the game. He has dirt on everyone, they have dirt on him. You can be sure the online gambling thing is true, but they must be holding back something much worse to stop him from spilling everything on those around him. He will have been told to "take his medicine" and they'll let him go quietly into the sunset. He is not taking his medicine. It's a very dangerous situation for all of them.

I use a Carwash run by a Chinese guy (can I say Chinaman these days?). He collects and delivers my car and offers a 48 hour guarantee, 72 if you wash on a Monday. If the car gets dirty, he will wash it again free. 340 baht. He is positively anal about the right way to wash a car to avoid swirls getting in the paint. Jet wash, Foam, Jet wash again, hand wash and then into the touchless rinse and dry machine before hand finishing. Like all good car washes, his crew are not allowed to wear belts, watches, anything with buttons or zips and any kind of jewelry.

Electric Vehicles in Thailand

Before you even start @vinny41 The R.Y. 1 figures above are the ones I'm interested in, and I suspect I'm not alone. Please don't start posting nonsense figures about road rollers, pickup trucks, tractors & commercial vehicles. We can start comparing those individually & separately if you like as EV models start to be sold in those categories. -
China do make them, but when I last looked (>5 years ago) they were all Lead-Acid batteries. An LFP battery would probably make it a bit heavier, with a shorter range, but it would be ideal for running around town, to Central Plaza too (if they would let you park it there).

I hope Rever enforce connected but not charging" overruns with a real cost. I was wondering if someone would leave their car connected overnight, or toddle off to have lunch. There's nearly always someone waiting to charge. I got my 30,000 baht charging credit for friends bring friends promotion today, it's valid until the end of 2026, I won't be able to use it until next year.

Yes, he's an indoor cat. He does go outside occasionally and comes back, a couple of times we've forgotten to bring him in and he's sat outside the front door at 6am. Officially, he's my eldest daughter's cat, but she now has a cocker spaniel and I get to look after him. I used to own at ATV adventure business, the whole fleet was 2 seater UTV's with a honda 150cc clone engine. Great fun, and the police didn't mind us going on the road. I would have one as a play thing if I could get an EV model.

Great news. I know someone with a tube of anti-gloating cream he can now use as a suppository on himself. And on that subject, can there really be any doubt that EV's are here to stay? -
I am a few weeks away from getting 30,000 baht charging credit from BYD. They’ve just made it impossible to use it. I drive to Chiang Mai every 2 or 3 weeks, I would really like to recharge there. It’s not going to happen. I will have to charge at our house there which does not have Solar Power 😞
-
Actually, MG & BYD CS are open to all EV's as long as you've registered with Reversharger & MG, whether you can do that without their brand car, I'm not sure. But those of us who have MG & BYD can charge either car at either dealership. Don't expect free BYD charging on your MG though! (although, who knows?).
-
I woke up at 6am on the dot, and checked Reversharger, both DC points already occupied at Chiang Rai City branch. I think they will need to introduce an appointment system urgently. Planning a road trip using free charging is not going to work.
-
I have been monitoring the Reverchargers in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai, you may want to rethink any road trips with free charging. Every time I check, they are all busy. Probably with a queue.
-
When I charged with Revercharger yesterday, I charged to 100% and at the end of the process it offered me 3 ways to pay, my stored debit card, 1,000 baht in my wallet from my previous German car or the Rever promotion which is free. Obviously, I chose the latter and got a bill for about 300 baht with an identical discount, net zero. No option to book a timed appointment at my local BYD, is that network wide or do some allow bookings?

Have you seen any ICE automaker offering a 20 year warranty? -
I am out charging at the BYD dealer and used the digital key on my iPhone to get here. There were 2 cars already charging, I was next in the queue. Two others started queuing whilst I was waiting. When a slot became available I had to tell the driver of an Atto, politely but firmly, they were not next and please reverse back out. I was with the sales guy, I told him it was going to be a bun fight in future and they need to come up with a system, you can’t book a slot here.

The battery can still be removed in the unlikely event it needs work. Unusual for you to state a true fact. -

That's too many miles for a 2 year old car. at 36% discount, I think it's too expensive. I prefer the 400 pro, she doesn't need that range. They seem to be keeping their value as if they were an ICE.
