I wouldn't describe my Seal Aircon as weak, nor do I have any complaint about the suspension. I have seen Thais changing the suspension all round for 40,000 baht, I drove one, it's a downgrade. So @ExpatOilWorker, not wishing to gloat BUT the percentage of cars sold being EV continues to climb, every month from February What does that suggest to you? I'll give you a clue, it's the one more likely to breakdown. In all seriousness, you really MUST drive them, it's foolish to buy an expensive car without a test drive.

I have 18Kw of grid-tied inverters with 22Kw of panels, the grid won't take more than about 10 or 11Kw but I flatten the curve by exporting more before 9:30 and after 15:30. They are cadenced in their shutdown voltages by 1v each. They will all stay on if I am charging the car in full sunshine. I usually charge the car between 9:30 and 15:30. They also all stay on in cloudy days. I peak about 95 Kwhr per day and average about 62.

A swamp cooler is perfect for outside, a bit ugly but they do work. They don't work inside unless you leave the windows wide open.

My local A/C installer who has a fleet of trucks and guys now sells TCL as his preferred supplier, I can't see him doing that if he can't get parts. I put TCL TV's and American style side-by-side fridge freezers in rental properties here. No issues yet. I bought my first TCL TV in Pattaya about 15 years ago when they first started here, it was a problem and overheated often, clearly a design fault but they seem to have got their act together now. We do have a TCL Service Centre here in Chiang Rai.

They will not contract direct with manufacturers because they won’t give backhanders, some obscure Thai company will act as middle man. Owned by someone in the procurement process.

We can't say that without comparing what happened in the overall market. The important thing is the precentage (to use your word) share of EV's . Is the EV share going up and the ICE share going down?

In the former colonies companies are already cropping up to repair Tesla battery packs and electronics, it's just a matter of time before we see it here. I kept my last car, a German EV for only 2 years, the Seal Performance is every bit as much fun to drive, not quite as fast but massively cheaper, my daughter wants me to pass it down to her, she drives an EV too. It's not about cost or retained value for me, it's all about the driving pleasure. I've had many exotic ICE cars but none of them compares to the drive of a performance EV. I doubt I will ever buy ICE again. BTW, only one of us demonstrated hubris, it was the one who said this... P.S. Unlike the Chinese Communist EV nut on AN, I am an actual Software Engineer who has worked for an EV company in California doing software so I know the inside story of EV subsystem issues unlike the dilatant cheerleaders 😂 Ring any bells?

You need to test drive them, one of those two drives superbly, one of them has a noisy engine.

HoHoHo, I bought them from Sendee Air in town, I think they are the distributor, they also have a huge warehouse just past HomePro, they do use young guys to install them, one was wearing his tech college outfit, not great, but we got there in the end. I agree if you buy their better units they are very good, probably the best. The issue I have with Mitsubishi and Daikin is value for money. I see A/C as a commodity now, I can get an 18,000 BTU TCL Inverter for under 12,000 baht delivered plus installation, 15,000 baht installed. The prices are crazy cheap for a quality unit. Our mutual friend (John E) bought one of the TCL WiFi models and was very impressed, he just ordered 3 more. They have a setting where it diffuses the air through lots of holes and gives no breeze, great for a bedroom.

I bought the Daikin "Smile" units, they were the cheapest Inverter models at the time. They have been a disaster.

I have 2 Mitsubishi Heat/Cool units. Chiang Rai can get very cold, last time was 2013 or 2014, highest temperature in 2 weeks was 11C. My Mitsubishi's are very sensitive to being clean, they leak if not kept clean. And they have gone yellow but then they are 10 years old. They've been yellow for at least 6 years.

There was a time when the gap between a poor A/C unit and a good one was significant. Today I think most of them are pretty good. We have installed well over a hundred A/C units as property developers. Hands down the worst 10 years ago was LG. In the last 5 or so years the worst is Daikin. They go yellow very quickly and are not properly protected for Geckos. The best value for money is the No.1 seller of A/C on Lazada and that is TCL. We've installed a couple of dozen in the last 4 years, no failures and all still brilliant white. Daikin is running at a 50% failure rate, always gecko's and we had to scrap one because the outside unit's control board went and it was cheaper to fit a new TCL unit than repair it. In a rental property you need it to just work. Daikin's need resetting sometimes and it's a pain to do that. Carrier's also need resetting sometimes.

I drank the last bottle last month, it definitely didn't contain any fruit juice. I was surprised by it's quality, I did a blind tasting at a dinner party against Brancott Estate and everyone preferred the Mont Clair, it was fresher with more zing. Apparently it was made in NZ but bottled in Thailand to save money. I think it was about 540 baht a bottle in BigC and a few Vivino users rated it at 4.0
