  1. Redirecting money from supporting rents to building affordable homes makes sense. Far too much tax payer’s money is being piped through to the pockets of buy to let landlords. Time to build the affordable homes the nation needs and stop funding private profits from public need.
  2. What do you have in mind, an attack on the Capitol?
  3. I agree, my true friends are people I’ve known since childhood. I refer to these as ‘friends with provenance’. We grew up together in a small community and know both each other and each others families since earliest memories. As for anyone else I know who’s gone down the conspiracy rabbit hole, life’s too short; that’s what the delete button is for.
  4. It’s gone beyond mild amusement and entered the realm of a medical situation, somebody needs to call the doctors: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/nov/04/tucker-carlson-demon-war-room-podcast
  5. That wasn’t criticized, that was a lambasting in response to her attempts to invent excuses for the behavior she was being called to account on.
  6. Labour’s report does not. It was a report made at a different time in respect of entirely different circumstances.
  7. I post links to support claims I make, as per forum rules. I don’t engage I personal attacks.
  8. Yet more misrepresentation of reality. Winter fuel payments have simply been means tested, by definition available to those in need of financial assistance not available to those who are not. ‘To spite wealthy pensioners?’.
  9. She got ripped new one. Her ‘apology’ was the stuff of much laughter. There’s undoubtedly more to come.
  10. I’ve explained many times why I don’t post videos, least of all this is a discussion forum. There’s a clue in the name.
  11. You posted the very video of her getting ripped by the speaker for trying to invent excuses to avoid the criticism she was facing. Only when she was completely humiliated did she make a half assed back down. There will undoubtedly be more of this to come in the future. I’ll say it again. I’m delighted she’s been chosen as leader of what’s left of the Tories, she’s a gift to Labour and the Lib Dems.
  12. I don’t post videos, plenty of links online if you want one. I am however surprised that anyone following Badenoch’s progress to head of the Tories is not aware of her well publicized run in with the Speaker. I’m sure she has more where that came from. She’s the choice I would have made for Tory leader, I’m delighted to see her appointed and look forward to her ‘performance’.
  13. But but but….whatabout. https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2022/sep/21/facebook-posts/biden-didnt-use-health-excuses-dodge-draft/
  14. I suggest you revisit Badenoch arguing with the Spear, it’s definitely it ‘a normal discussion’.
  15. The point is, Trump dodged the draft while someone else’s kid went to war in his place. Not the stuff a ‘Commander in Chief’ is made of.
  16. Letting ripped memes do your thinking again.
  17. Her performance in the house arguing with the Speaker is an example.
  18. Lots of claims there of who holds what opinions but oddly no sources to back your claims.
  19. What do you think is a reasonable time to pass after which a rapist should be free of any chance of prosecution for their crimes?
  20. I read the OP Brian. Please forgive for drawing different conclusions than yourself. Police responding in force in full riot gear within minutes and invoking Section 14 of the Public Order Act is not by any reasonable definition ‘light policing’.
  21. Righty-o I hear he wasn’t arrested, no breach of the peace occurred, he and his dog a presage and well. A good result.
  22. Because he approached the ‘protestors’ and acted to inflame an already tense situation risking a breach of the peace would be my guess. Again refer common law rights of the Police to move people to avoid a breach of the peace. Meanwhile invoking Section 14 of the Public Order Act and arriving in force within minutes to police the ‘protestors’ with officers kitted out in riot gear. No evidence at all of two tier policing.
  23. Nevertheless my opinion. I understand he wasn’t arrested and no breach of the peace arose. I’m pleased he’s safe and well.
  24. Well done plod. Regardless of any characteristic of the man the police moved on, the Police very clearly acted to keep the peace. I’m sure whoever he was he would like to able to further inflame a dangerous situation from the safety of being behind a line of police officers, the Police were wise not to let that continue. Refer the common law right of police to move people on in order to prevent a breach of the peace.
