  1. Brexit has failed, even Farage says so. From the article Mac Mickmanus linked: “He [Starmer]!highlighted recent warnings from the car industry that their future is under threat, claiming Britain could become a world leader in electric car manufacturing.” Do you suppose Starmer is listening to the UK’s car industry and their complaints regarding the damage Brexit is doing to their industry? And: “The Labour leader also said scientists and researchers face “an uncertain future” not knowing whether they will be able to access the Horizon EU funding programme. “ Here’s a clue to what Starmer is getting at - There is no access to EU Horizon science funding without joining the EU Horizon Program’ And then there’s this: “And he said the “failure of the Tories’ Brexit deal” had driven up food prices, which he called “unforgivable” during the cost of living crisis.” So a new deal with the EU, do think that’s going to be moving further away from the EU or closer to tie EU?
  2. Starmer is focussed on winning the next election. The key issues of concern for voters are, the cost of living crisis, the NHS, the economy, public services, law and order. Brexit is not a key issue, therefore not something Starmer needs to address. However, Brexit is an issue that is still dividing the Tories. Starmer is doing the smart thing. Focus on the problems facing the electorate and let the Tories continue to eat each other. Watch out for pro-EU policies from Labour (all in the cause of addressing “the cost of living crisis, the NHS, the economy, public services, law and order”).
  3. I think they are pushing for future regulation to distract from what they are doing right now. AI is here, and it’s being used now. AI is choosing what adverts you see, it’s choosing the feed you see on your social media. Corporations are gathering data on anyone using social media, shopping on line, viewing videos, reading online content and plugging it into AI. They are not doing it for your benefit.
  4. Sorry Jeff, I don’t view videos. Comments and links to credible sources supporting comments made, yes. Videos, no.
  5. What precisely is wrong with not allowing corporations to do whatever they wish regardless of the impacts on society?
  6. It’s not a law, it’s The Constitution of the United States. Hate Trump? What’s not to hate?
  7. Starmer understands something these ‘real Labour members’ you refer to don’t, there’s no point claiming to support leftwing political positions of you can’t win an election. Labour is electable under Starmer, it was not electable under Corbyn. On the subject of Brexit failure, Starmer has repeatedly signaled policy positions that will bring closer alignment of the UK to the EU. It’s an example of that essential political quality lacking in both leftwing and rightwing dogma - pragmatism.
  8. It doesn’t quite say it all. Washington are in no hurry at all to negotiate a trade deal with the UK.
  9. The bizarre thing here is the Government are refusing to handover evidence to the inquiry that they, the Government, established to examine the evidence. Nothing to hide, nothing to fear.
  10. On a number of policies the Tories are as far to the right as the BNP.
  11. So very often it’s the coverup that exposes the crime, and Corcoran is eager to talk about it. Jack be nimble, Jack be quick.
  12. Yep I agree A black man winning the Presidency and together with his black wife as First Lady. That really did trigger the hate.
  13. The significant issue here is not Biden waving the question of giving Trump a pardon. It’s the fact the news media are now accepting the very real possibility of Trump being in position to need a pardon. Trump being facing Justice is now undeniably a news item.
  14. Being more restrictive on borders than the Tories isn’t difficult is it? They’ve lost control of the UK’s borders with zero input from the EU. Another BREXIT failure.
  15. Being the other half of the election partnership that decisively defeated Trump at the ballot box.
  16. I think breaking 29 Ties in the Senate is an achievement, though I accept those enamored with the idea of government crippled by Republican intransigence might disagree. https://www.senate.gov/legislative/TieVotes.htm
  17. I’m not going to argue with you about gaslighting of Brexit not yet finished. You obviously missed out on the merchandising. https://amp.theguardian.com/politics/2020/jan/28/got-brexit-done-tory-party-sells-12-tea-towel-in-celebration https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/prime-ministers-statement-on-eu-negotiations-24-december-2020
  18. No, Farage is no buddy of mine, I’ve already said I despise the man. But as you said it is important to consider information from sources of a differing political view point. I did, and Farage very clearly said ‘Brexit has failed’. On that point I have no disagreement with Farage. Not a sunlit upland pasture insight. Brexit has failed.
  19. Thank you. I didn’t like to say so myself, I’m rather reticent when it comes to blowing my own trumpet.
  20. Educated people understand the principle of ‘simultaneous equations’. Ans to be frank, even that doesn’t require a lot of education’.
