  1. Only after having to visit two supermarkets, something that was not necessary pre-Brexit. Farage is right, Brexit had failed.
  2. No. I described my experience and backed it up by providing a news report that indicated my experience was similar to that of others across the UK. If you wish to ague that Brexit has not created food shortages do so, and we can deal with that particular Brexit failure.
  3. They have no connection to Brexit, which is the point. Since you seem to have missed the concept of a simultaneous equation let me give you a refresher. Economy A = Brexit + Pandemic + Ukrainian war. Economy B = Zero Brexit + Pandemic + Ukrainian war. Economy C = Zero Brexit + Pandemic.+ Ukrainian war. Economy D = Zero Brexit + Pandemic + Ukrainian war. Comparison of economy A with B removes the common impacts and leaves the Brexit impact. Fo the same for comparison A with C and A with D. Not too difficult to grasp.
  4. Via costly and time consuming trade barriers.
  5. Listen up, again. I have my own reasons for concluding Brexit is a failure. I agree with Farage’s conclusion, I don’t have to agree with how he came to that conclusion. ‘The UK is the only G7 nation not to have recovered its economy to its pre Pandemic level’. That in and of itself is reason to conclude Brexit has failed.
  6. The UK being the only G7 nation not to have recovered its economy to pre-pandemic levels will do as a start.
  7. The reason I’m referring to what Farage has said is, are you ready for this? “Nigel Farage: ‘Brexit has failed’” Is the topic of discussion. I hope that helps you understand the subject of the thread you are engaging in.
  8. I found what I wanted in the second supermarket I visited. Gone are the pre-Brexit days when I could get all my shopping in one supermarket. Others have the same experience, hence the news articles discussing food shortages.
  9. An on going failure. Ask Farage, he’s saying it on TV. People have heard him say it, people up and down the country are discussing the fact that Brexit has failed.
  10. I despise Farage, but that doesn’t get in the way of me hearing him say ‘Brexit has failed’. And Nigel Farage has said Brexit has failed. Moreover, the fact Brexit has failed is now being widely and openly discussed. Good luck putting that cat back in the bag.
  11. Nigel Farage says Brexit has failed. Fake news?
  12. So if Germany’s food supply is down and the UK’s food supply is down, which of these two nations do you believe EU food producers will supply first. Germany with zero trade barriers or bureaucracy? Or the UK with trade barriers, bureaucracy and delays at the ports?
  13. Listen up, so I don’t have to say this again. I posted my personal experience of not being able to get all the groceries I wanted from Tesco and having to make a second trip to Aldi to get the missing items. I also reported my observation of reduced stock options. The experience I reported is entirely consistent with wide spread news reports of food shortages, I provided a link to one such news article. What particular items I had to double shot for is of absolutely no relevance, my observations are consistent with wide spread news reports. If you want to know what is or is not in other people’s shopping trolleys, do so while standing in line at the check out. Now, getting you back to topic. Nigel Farage says Brexit has failed. Yes it has, and the fact Brexit has failed is now being widely and openly discussed.
  14. Lucky you. I couldn’t get everything I wanted in Tesco, I’m now on my way to Aldi. I have provided a link reporting shortages in supermarkets. If you are arguing there are no shortages, then say so.
  15. Brexiteers don’t understand how Brexit created trade barriers impact the UK economy. Why am I not surprised?!
  16. Bad weather in Morocco causes shortages in the ‘food market’, therefore suppliers focus on their nearest and lowest cost customers. The UK’s post Brexit trade barriers make supplying the UK the least best option for EU suppliers v supplying within the EU. UK suppliers would like to supply the shortfall, but they don’t have the workers to do so. Oops!
  17. Morocco has a trade agree with the EU facilitating trade between Morocco and the EU. Which is the nearer, easier and faster trade partner for Morocco, the EU or the UK? https://trade.ec.europa.eu/access-to-markets/en/content/eu-morocco-association-agreement
  18. Yes, so once again for your sake. A food supplier in Europe has a reduced stock of product. Does he ship it to customers within the zero tariff free trade area of the EU, or does he ship it through expensive and time consuming trade barriers to the UK?
  19. Not quite the whole story. Why bother delivering to the UK when there are trade barriers in the way? If a product is in short supply, feed it to the easy access market and disregard the market that has trade barriers.

  21. More whataboutary, the subject is not modern slavery. But please do request a thread on the subject.
