It’s fortunate that the UK can procure excellent military hardware and systems from its own defense industry and that of other European nations. No need to spend any increase in defense budgets with a U.S. threatening trade wars against the UK while sucking up to a tyrant aggressor on Europe’s borders.

Perhaps we need a standardized statement unequivocally condemning Hamas as a heinous terrorist organization and the attack by Hamas on innocent Jews and others in Israel as the heinous terrorist act that it was. It’s a clear statement that I and many critics of Israel’s war on Gaza have frequently made, so not at all contentious. We might then append that statement to any and all criticism of Israel’s war in Gaza or any statement on the rights of Palestinians. We could even have law requiring the statement to always be included when discussing anything about the plight of Palestinians or the conduct of the war in Gaza.
