  1. Musk has brought this mess on himself. He’s raised expectations amongst hate mongers that they’ll be allowed to spew as much hate as they wish. Does he know the income stream comes from advertisers? Go ahead, turn Twitter into a rightwing hate megaphone, see how long that lasts.
  2. You are of course allowed your thoughts, but once you post them here they are up for comment. There is nothing ‘odd’ about this news (it’s not a ‘narrative’). What is odd, sickening even, is your twisted attempts to misrepresent the facts, insert conspiracy and ‘false flags’. You’ve stepped beyond your usual bias into the realms of deliberate obfuscation and conspiracy mongering.
  3. Minimizing a violent attack on an 82 year old man, just because he’s married to some you’ve been told to hate. Have a word with yourself.
  4. Windfall taxes are not ‘illegal’. The investments made in the North Sea were based in the price of crude, and were being repaid with profits at the pre-war price. Nobody invested in North Sea exploration on the basis of the current war driven crude prices. Meanwhile what is actually happening is the Government are borrowing money to pay the profits of the energy companies, the borrowed money will be paid back with taxes, which you assert are theft, but these taxes are going to be paid for by the public. Cash handouts to corporations to fatten their windfall profits, poverty and more taxes for the public. It’s the Tory way.
  5. 2022 is really turning out to be a fabulous year for Justice. And keep in mind, Shea’s crimes were against the Trump supporters duped into handing over their money to this crook.
  6. Shell have done absolutely nothing to earn the profits they are receiving as a direct result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Everything above the price of oil before the invasion is windfall, wing paid for by increased consumer bills and inflation. The Government borrowing money to give to consumers to pay the higher prices is a direct subsidy to Oil and Gas supplier profits and will be paid for with higher taxes at a later date. The far more sensible and fiscally responsible response is a windfall tax and use that, not borrowed money to support consumers in need. Corporate profits protected by government borrowing is absolute lunacy.
  7. Like you, I use my ‘eco car’ for my main shops only. The rest of the time I use a bicycle (non electric).
  8. Have you considered ‘reductions in usage’ doesn’t have to be ‘no usage at all’. Objectives are achieved one step at a time, right now in 2022, technology is available that wasn’t available a few short years ago, and prices of clean energy sources are falling rapidly. The fact that an objective can’t be met today is not an argument against starting towards that objective. It’s people demanding change that has given rise to the technological advancements in energy that are becoming more available and cheaper. So less of this demanding of others that they go completely off-grid, zero fossil fuels today. Nobody is making tgat argument other than the fossil fuel industry shills.
  9. You are missing the efficiency gains. Efficiency of electrical generation and electric cars v efficiency of internal combustion engine.
  10. Oh, that definition of ‘Globalist’, who would have guessed: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Globalism
  11. I know a number of people who drive electric cars, I don’t know any that claim doing so will in and of itself solve climate change.
  12. You have reputedly made a connection between those who support tackling climate change and ‘Globalists’. Can you please explain the basis of the connection you make?
  13. There’s two parts to this thread. Global warming and human suffering. Oddly, those who argue against tackling the global warming, or that it can even be tackled, also argue against addressing the human suffering.
  14. Not all humans pollute to the same degree. Therefore, following your Malthusian arguments, perhaps we need hit the big nail and get rid of the big polluters first. Or perhaps its some others there are too many of?
  15. Where is your evidence that Oxbridge admitting more disadvantaged applicants is a reduction in educational standards?
  16. Poor deluded right wingers. Billionaires are going to Billionaire.
  17. I’ll make the point again. A billionaire narcissist hasn’t got your corner.
  18. I’m all for Trump getting back on Twitter. His handlers are less keen. Which is why he rarely appears in live broadcasts these days. And that’s apart from the legal jeopardy he puts himself in when he opens his mouth.
  19. Because you think a narcissistic billionaire has got your back.
  20. And his lies garnered him a huge following on the rightwing. Riddle me that.
