  1. You perhaps need to qualify that statement given every other nation in the G7 except the UK has recovered its level of economic activity to pre-pandemic levels, something the UK has failed to do. Your pro-Putin misinformation is noted.
  2. To within a stated degree of confidence. Likewise aircraft fuel loads are based on a prediction of consumption for the flight, a bit of a problem for those who need to occasionally fly but struggle with an aversion to predictions. It is of course not the predictions that bother Brexiteers, it’s the fact BREXIT is failing and voters can see BREXIT is failing. Not a ‘sunlit upland’ in sight.
  3. Yes, it was a prediction made by Brexiteers.
  4. OK, so we are agreed, the impact of the three events COVID + WAR + BREXIT are mixed and it is difficult to determine the individual impact of each. However, as time passes the impact of COVID is receding. Likewise the impact of the war. What remains is BREXIT. Hence as the impacts of COVID + the WAR recede, the impacts of BREXIT will become more apparent. This process is already underway and will continue. We also already see people from within the BREXIT campaign speaking out against BREXIT. Public opinion polls are continuing to shift against BREXIT. The Chancellor of the Exchequer has clearly stated ‘unfettered trade with the UK’s nearest neighbours would be good for economic growth’. After that statement the Government has had to go on the defensive to deny leaks of seeking a ‘Swiss-Style Trade Agreement’ with the EU. And all the while the absolute certainty the 65+ demographic group that provided voter support for BREXIT is dying off. https://www.statista.com/statistics/520954/brexit-votes-by-age/ And let’s not forget that failed BREXIT forecast. Not a ‘sunny upland’ in sight.
  5. You are lucky, you don’t seem to have an IP address.
  6. Has Trump appointed a Campaign Manager yet?
  7. I suggest you refer to the top of the thread where you’ll find a very clear indication of what is the topic of discussion.
  8. How about you try addressing the present. “Why is the UK struggling more than other countries?” COVID + WAR + BREXIT = Outcome ? I know you don’t like the answer but don’t expect the rest of us to ignore the outcome just because you don’t like the answer.
  9. The economic impact on the UK economy can’t be hidden, as COVID and the war in Ukraine fade into the past, the reality of Brexit damage will become more apparent. Time is not on the side of Brexit and the clock is ticking.
  10. Now it’s you who is looking into the crystal ball. How strange is that?!
  11. Do you have any comments on the subject under discussion?
  12. It’s probably best if you stop implying other members are racists just because they make the factual observation that the UK is having to import Filipino Butchers to replace EU National Butchers after Brexit.
  13. BREXIT has resulted in UK trade barriers between the UK and its largest trading partner. There is no need to have a crystal ball to see trade barrier will negatively impact the economy. Numerous examples of this are already being reported and referenced within this thread.
  14. Wait on there. I’ve stated actual Tory sleaze, you’ve come back with some imagined behaviour of Labour. One is based in fact, the other just dreamed up nonsense.
  15. No longer in office, no longer controlling national policies and certainly not handing lucrative contracts to chums without the inconvenience of going through formal bidding procedures.
  16. It wasn’t a ‘veiled question’. I very clearly used a question mark at the end of it, a question mark denotes a question. Nothing veiled about it at all. As I pointed out, the impacts of BREXIT are already with us. Refer multiple examples throughout this thread of businesses and business leaders identifying BREXIT as a cause of the problems they are facing.
  17. No, I did not make a prediction of the future. I presented two calculations identical except for one variable BREXIT and asked “which one will produce the most severe outcome?” That is not a prediction of the future, it’s asking a question.
  18. The outcome of COVID + WAR + BREXIT is already impacting the UK economy. That is the present any it will continue into the future. The impacts of COVID and the WAR will diminish over time, the impacts of BREXIT will continue. The UK is in recession, the only nation in the G7 with an economy that has not recovered to pre-pandemic levels, the only nation to choose to have trade barriers against itself.
  19. I don’t know any ‘Remainer’ who is claiming that all the UK’s problems are due to Brexit, I certainly never haven’t ( refer my post above in which I clearly state ‘VOVID + WAR + BREXIT’). I do however note you yourself frequently omit Brexit as a cause of economic problems in the UK.
  20. No you don’t, you need only look at the economic data. The UK is in recession, the only nation in the G7 with an economy that has not recovered to pre-pandemic levels.
  21. Did you miss math class when you were in school? COVID + WAR + BREXIT = Outcome A COVID + WAR + 0 = Outcome B Now rattle the old grey cells and see if you can spot which outcome will be more severe?
  22. The subject of the thread is a Tory Peer receiving offshore payments of £29,000,000 derived from a contract awarded her under the Tory Government’s VIP scheme. Nothing at all to do with any other political party. Your ‘whataboutary’ is noted.
  23. This is the worse than it seems. Not only has this Tory Peer pocketed £29,000,000 in profits paid offshore, but the profits arise from the delivery of PPE that was not fit for purpose, the actual bill to tax payers was hundreds of millions of pounds, with nothing useful obtained in return. And it gets worse. These hundreds of millions wasted on PPE supplied by a chum of Gove on Government orders was marked down as ‘NHS Budget’. Tory sleaze, lies and the Tory Chumocracy in full flow, while medical staff were getting sick and dying through a lack of suitable PPE.
  24. The weapon of choice in mass shootings is? Let’s start there and skip the diversionary ‘all guns’ nonsense.
  25. You don’t seem to understand the difference between accidental deaths and murder. Or perhaps you do but simply don’t care.
