You are forever thinking about safety AT. That is no bad thing here. Can easily get lured into a less than safe mode. I've noticed that ladders do not seem so robust as in the west. In fact, I saw one last week, used for telegraph work, made from bamboo, and it was about eight metres long.
The wheelbarrows here get some getting used to. I've had a couple tip over.
I bought one of those bamboo ones when I painted my house, 600bht. Awful ladder, never again. Price will no longer be a factor for me.

They were arrested for throwing water. Do you understand that there is no limit in dictating how one lives his life now. They weren't arrested for hurting anyone, they were arrested for celebrating Songkran, which includes throwing water. You make it sound as though everyone's intent when throwing water is to injure everyone.
For me I'm more afraid of where all this ridiculousness might end than I am of the virus.

It was a long time ago.
The dog slaughterhouse which was in Tharee, a small town on route 22 between Sakon Nakhon and Nakon Phanom has been closed for more than ten years.
(and I know Thai people who have already eat rabbit)
For the rest it is true, the province is home to a significant number of Thai people from Vietnam.
most of them continue to speak Vietnamese among themselves, to go to mass on Sundays because many are Catholic;
and when we enter their house, it is not the photo of the king of Thailand that we see first but that of Onc 'Ho ...A lot of Christians in Tharee, good place to see Christmas lights.

I would imagine that, in very poor regions, people will eat anything. However, the connotation that dog is part of Thai cuisine is false.
They don't eat it cause they're poor, it costs money. My old lady was cooking dinner one night, same as always, a bunch of food for everyone. I come outside and there's the MIL's boyfriend skinning a couple rats.
Lets see prawns and squid or some tasty rat. Same with dog, Isaan is part of Thailand.

In Sakon, dudes sitting around the fire drinking lao khao, they're the likely candidates for eating some dog.
I spent years there as a part timer. The fella nearest us was a drinker, he rolled by our place one day with a plastic bag of raw meat. Old lady said it was dog.
The MIL had a litter of pups each year, I didn't ask questions. The dog market is gone, but there's plenty of dogs to be sold.

For the most part it's all in good fun. We've probably all sat there a few times having a beer, I have.

I highly recommend looking for a woman who is the eldest child in the family. They are given far more responsibility growing up, and it shows. And remember, you are no longer in the West, which means you do not have to check your cajones at the door. Do not behave like you behaved back there. If you do that, she will take over. And take your time. Time is your ally. If it is good, it is only going to get better. If there are real issues, they will reveal themselves over time. Do not allow a woman to push the agenda. Be a man. Push back. Be strong.
I waited 9 years. I know that is extreme, but I recommend waiting at least two years or longer. It takes a long time to really get to know someone. I hear alot of horror stories, and most of the time the guy moved too fast. As I said, they are always going to try to push the agenda and the timetable. It is up to you to push back.
If you're going to cherry pick, pick one with no family.

And that's exactly the problem, all the people who don't complain and just accept this mask hysteria.
That is why the mask hysteria is taking such dangerous form, as we saw with this Thai facebook site that calls for foreigners to be physically attacked when they don't wear a mask.
All the defenders of such actions share responsibility for the extreme effects of mask hysteria.
People should complain and refuse to wear a mask. I know I will.
Too many other things to worry about. After you wear one a few times you forget about it. Just not a big deal and you make other folks more comfortable.

Vindictive and childish attitude is when shop owners think they can tell you what you should put on your face, and then try to prevent you from coming in their store. You can hardly complain if people retaliate and refuse to shop at your store, if you act that way in a crisis. Very selfish, childish and vindictive.
Plenty of wonderful stores which do not require a mask. It's not like we're forced to shop at stores where the owners think they're God.
I've been in non name stores that have the "Must wear Mask" sign. Nobody complains.

Thanks for that. Hadn't seen any official announcement but the missus mumbled something about the government's Facebook page. Good news for the mom and pop shops!
The shops near me in Rayong don't sell booze. It will make that beer after the ban ends taste that much better.
