  1. They can also love their man. However, the man definitely takes second place behind their children.
  2. Thanks for the advice. How would I be wasting my time?
  3. Isn't it a bit early to be drinking?
  4. I was the only foreigner in a COVID quarantine facility for 14 days, in a provincial hospital. My GF was much sicker than I was, because she had read Facebook, and rejected vaccination when it was available. Camping out in shearer's quarters in outback New South Wales was good preparation.
  5. Narcissism is a complex psychological disorder, with many facets. Such as the need for praise and attention, lack of empathy, a grandiose sense of self, entitlement, envy of others. I have none of those attributes. Calling me a narcissist, because my current relationship of more than ten years started off as transactional, is as shallow as a mud puddle. BTW, my previous two relationships were 28 and 16 years. Narcissists shed relationships like deciduous trees. Give me an estimate, if you know so much about it. What percentage of relationships between Thais and foreigners start out as the loving, caring type you describe, and how many started as transactional?
  6. You're assuming each and every Thai has family ties which would enable the borrowing of a scooter within 5 seconds. Statistically, that's nonsense. AFAIK most of the people using tuktuks and songtaews are Thai. You think those vehicles are solely for foreigners? Happy you are amused, You've reminded me of the small minds aphorism.
  7. Then the relatives have to find other transport. Pawn shops are not charitable organisations. There's the inconvenience of having to shell out for tuk-tuks and songthaews. What would you do if you lost your wheels for a month, smartypants?
  8. There is accommodation close to Singha Park tea plantation, 700 -1100 baht/night. Chui Fong is more remote, 40 km outside the city up Doi Mae Salong. IIRC there are a couple of resorts there too.
  9. I broke my arm in a scooter accident about a year ago, and spent a night in hospital. My GF slept on the floor next to my bed, to take care of me. She brought me food from outside as the hospital food was inedible.
  10. I am in Chiang Rai. Is dementia setting in, or are you p!ssed?
  11. You should. He's talking about you.
  12. That's just your opinion, which is slanted towards idealistic. Did I say a transactional relationship could not evolve into something else? I give my GF what she wants, she gives me what I want. Welcome to Thailand. So you don't consider setting yourself up as some kind of ASEAN moral crusader has an element of narcissism?
  13. There is no need to be lonely in Thailand, provided one accepts 99% of relationships are transactional. The OP once again demonstrates his ability to document his fantasized encounters.
  14. I wasn't too concerned about traffic in the US, even if I had to drive on the wrong side of the road, and remember where to look if I was a pedestrian. For the most part, I found American drivers to be sensible. OTOH, I did not feel comfortable in a country where every police officer was toting a gun. Although it is pretty much the same here. Every time I went to a show or sporting event, I was wondering if a crazy would pop out of the woodwork.
  15. Catholicism has taught plenty of people about pedophilia, some the hard way. It's a statistically inevitable consequence of a celibacy ukase, formulated for financial reasons. It has nothing to do with purity. Being a sexual predator probably ranks pretty low on the list of sins. <deleted> hypocrites.
  16. How much was the bail? Good to hear you are nearly mended physically, although I suppose you are far more wary on the roads.
  17. Zelensky has courage, and is a statesman. I can't imagine Trump defending anything but his own skin.
  18. I'm actually surprised Trump would go there, given the comments by Stormy Daniels.
  19. Palmer's daughter called it "a poor choice of approaches". Mind you, she probably got about $400 million as an inheritance, so she wouldn't want to bite the hand potentially feeding her too hard.
  20. Er - Australia has a Labor = leftist government presently. Judging by how the conservative opposition is losing safe seats to independents, could be some time before they are in power again. IMO Congress and the Senate could do with a healthy dose of independents too.
  21. Your memory is good, I made that slip quite some time ago. It's probably the only thing about you I like.
  22. In your dreams. The very large early voting and mail-in volume point to a Democrat landslide. United Stares LOL.
  23. Marxism and Nazism are at polar ends of the political spectrum. What you posted isn't word salad, it's word porridge. Many non-Americans are cheering on the demise of a felon, sexual predator and serial liar, hoping America will return to sanity. The usual obsession with leftists. News flash - Australia has had leftist governments on and off since Federation. They usually introduce the majority of reforms that benefit ordinary people. Tell me how giving tax cuts to billionaires, and slashing Medicare and Social Security, will help ordinary people.
  24. The fines are too small to be a deterrent, usually 200 baht. Take someone's scooter away for a month, it probably affects their livelihood.
  25. Let me know when you get past the taunts of a child.
