  1. Given Trump's history, he would probably find a way to fudge it.
  2. I have had four different types of cancer, in different organs. One more, and I'm applying to the Guinness Book of Records. I am in full remission from all of them, doctors never use the word cured. I am a fatalist. The only thing I fear is a prolonged agonizing death, not death itself.
  3. I have no problem with Biden being drug tested, provided Trump has one too.
  4. The spelling of GRAMMAR and SUIT reminds me people who live in glass houses should not throw stones.
  5. Er - I thought Biden got 81 million votes, Trump 74 million in 2020. Current polls mean nothing, it's November that counts. IIRC, GDP under Trump also went considerably backwards in 2019-2020.
  6. The poster you quote has a history of animus towards Thailand, IIRC he has even published a book detailing Thailand's defects. Most of which can be handled by people with a few brain cells. Most people in Australia anywhere near a major city are millionaires by definition if they own their house, it's insane. In Thailand, there's the house I gave my GF, and my condo. Two cars, two scooters. My son's internet is about 4 times the cost here, inferior speed. His car registration is 7 times mine. If I lived in Australia, more than half my pension would be going in rent. A basic pub meal is about 2-3 times what it costs in Thailand. People who move here to escape high living costs and political correctness IMO should be applauded, not derided. At least they had the guts to embrace change.
  7. Good point, thanks. My GF knows what cash I have - in Thailand. She also knows the longer I live, the better off she will be when I eventually cark it.
  8. You may be right. However, IMO it does depend on the amount of cash brought in. If I was to have AUD 50K on my person, exchanging that to 1.2 million baht with a money exchanger would IMO definitely draw attention. However, I doubt AUD 5 K would raise any eyebrows. Money exchangers and banks see transactions at that level by the hundreds.
  9. I give out small cash gifts to my GF's family at Christmas. They have never asked me for money. I am sharing the cost of putting my GF's grand-daughter through university.
  10. I have always walked on the side where I can see traffic coming towards me, and can step aside if necessary.. IMO having traffic behind me, particularly in Thailand, is akin to having a death wish.
  11. So you spend your time with HiSo's exclusively, who respond to your manipulation. Apologize. My BS meter is totally destroyed.
  12. I am guessing there will be thresholds applied, amounts more than 100K, 500K baht or 1 million baht attract the interest of the taxman. Lower than that, it's not worth the effort.
  13. Yes they do. Does that get reported to the tax authorities, though?
  14. The three ways I can think of in terms of reducing tax in Thailand are as follows: 1/ Getting married to a Thai, to take maximum advantage of allowances. 2/ Only remitting funds from savings which can be proved to have accrued prior to January 1, 2024. 3/ Bringing in cash to Thailand when returning from one's country of origin.
  15. Tried it once, frankly don't know what the fuss is about. Tasted like slightly sweetened grapefruit. My breath smelled like sewer gas for about two hours afterwards. Revolting.
  16. I assume a TM30 is filed for me at the hotel I stay at overnight in Bangkok, en route to Chiang Rai. There does not seem to be any requirement to do a new TM30 in Chiang Rai.
  17. Should be no problem at all. I opened a joint account at Bangkok Bank ( already had an account there ) for exactly the same reasons as the OP.
  18. Why anyone would consider purchasing a bike under dodgy circumstances, when there are so many legitimate ones available, is one of life's mysteries. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
  19. Not surprising he is feeling the heat, being that obese. Most people leaving Thailand IMO never did thorough research before coming here.
  20. A tad immobile due to minor foot surgery, binge-watching "Justified".
  21. AFAIK your qualifications and experience with "science" consists of being some kind of retired nursing assistant. I suppose next, you'll be posting advice on neurosurgery for glioblastomas, given your extensive background in medicine.
  22. I am thinking more of the frequency a 20 yo would be demanding from her partner. I'd agree older guys can sustain the sex for longer than a teenager, and a more experienced partner helps. If you are claiming you can manage sex 4 times in one night at 77 yo, I'll file that in my BS bin.
  23. Agree. Why anyone would allow their account to be used in an arrangement which shrieks to high heaven of money laundering is beyond my comprehension.
  24. How well do you think 64 yo Percy would work with a horny 20 yo? I don't want my body repatriated. Keep it simple, cremate me here.
