  1. In my case, it comes from talking to caddies and massage ladies. The consensus seems to be they can't compete with the 20 and 30 yo women, so why bother. It seems to be a culture thing, I have had quite beautiful women caddy for me who don't think they are beautiful, and too old. Of course, they could just be telling me what they think I want to hear, but I don't think so.
  2. I would say the majority of Thai women are also unaware sex after menopause exists. IMO most think once they hit 50 sex is finished.
  3. I was married to a Western woman, once was enough. IMO it is completely unnecessary to marry a Thai woman, as long as one "takes care" that is enough for most women here.
  4. Can't say I have ever fallen out of love with Thai women. Western women, definitely.
  5. Or you could try ExpatAuto in Chiang Mai, they have a good reputation. https://expatautocm.com/
  6. I'm not. I'm obsessed with staying in good health, and time. Money is only a tool to me, as long as I can live comfortably I don't need more.
  7. That thought, analysis and planning was deficient, because Putin had surrounded himself with yes-men. He did not have anyone in his inner circle of advisers to say this is a bad idea. Russia does not have undisputed control of Ukrainian airspace. America had total control of the skies over Vietnam and Afghanistan, wars are won or lost on the ground.
  8. Perhaps you should be telling Australia that, it is in the process of signing a very large trade agreement with India, and also is the venue of choice for many young Indians seeking tertiary qualifications. AFAIK India is still a democracy, it sides with Russia because the majority of its military hardware is sourced from there. Although given the performance of Russian equipment in Ukraine, it should be having second thoughts.
  9. I have only ever been fined once, for going down a one-way street the wrong way. Never seen a cop smile so much, gave him 200 baht and I was on my way with nothing written down. I've been stopped dozens of times, produce my Thai DL, off I go. I understand it is possible to be fined for having the side pegs out when one does not have a pillion passenger. As for a foreigner without a helmet - goodnight nurse.
  10. That's because with the level of sex education Thai women get here, they don't understand menopause is a natural event. I spent quite some time explaining the changes she was going through to my GF. I prefer older women, as long as they stay in shape. Can't remember the last time I used a condom. With the younger ones, only Buddha knows what they were doing the night before.
  11. At this point, it's both. If I had 1000 baht for every Thai woman I have met who asked me if I already had a GF or wife, I'd be driving the latest BMW. And it is not because I am hansum man. To a certain stratum of Thai women, farangs are much more desirable partners than Thai men. Given the treatment they get, I can't say I am surprised.
  12. You may be right. Relationships change with time. My GF was very shy at first, then became quite uninhibited once she realized I would never hurt her> As the sex has slowed down, there is more affection on display. It's also a matter of getting used to one another's quirks.
  13. My Thai GF is 23 years younger than me. It's a contract of mutual convenience, I give her what she wants, she gives me what I want. Admittedly the sex is slowing down considerably for both of us, which IMO doesn't matter to either of us. She is too old to think of getting some on the side. If I get 50% of the care she was giving her father as he was dying, I'll be well content. She will be provided for after I die, but it is in her interest to keep me alive for as long as possible. I am somewhat bemused by men who say they have been cheated out of their assets here, Thai family law compared to the West makes it easy to exercise self-preservation. As for having a Western or Thai woman the same age as me in my bed - no thanks.
  14. I suggest you go back further in history, the issue of the Donbass Russians was created by Russia, after they moved them in to replace the Ukrainians who starved to death in the Holomodor of 1931-32. On Stalin's orders. Permit me to doubt the minority you speak of are heroic in any way, after shooting down MH17.
  15. Check back on Neville Chamberlain if you want to see how well diplomacy works with dictators. NATO did not push eastwards, countries like the Baltic states begged to be admitted. They had had enough of Russian economic "co-operation". And the Warsaw Pact.
  16. I do wonder about Mac users, it's like Mercedes owners who buy them as a status symbol. Your previous PC's lasted 3 and 2.5 years, how do you know your new pride and joy will last longer? The Acer I am using to write this is about ten years old, perhaps you might consider a lighter touch on the keyboard.
  17. Correct. Having said that, the CCP is probably taking very careful note of what the international community is doing to Russia, and an invasion of Taiwan might be put on the back burner.
  18. The last two Songkhrans, when interprovincial travel was permitted, there was a surge of infections afterwards. That was starting from a fairly low infection base. This time around, the infection base is high, and very probably underestimated by the Government. That's because many people are self-testing and self-isolating to avoid official quarantine. I'd suggest either Anutin is hoping the Omicron variants don't present the same mortality rate as previous mutations, or he is smoking some serious <deleted>.
  19. IIRC, the last mass murder of civilians by the US military was in 1968, at My Lai. It was followed up by exhaustive legal action against the perpetrators. Permit me to doubt any Russian will ever be brought to justice for atrocities in Ukraine, the separatists who shot down MH17 are still at large. Having said that, Russia is now an international pariah. Putin has probably done as much damage to Russia as he has to Ukraine, albeit far less visibly. Thailand will do what it has always done best, sit on the fence.
  20. You may be right; however, more specifics please. For example, Germany produces 39.7 million tonnes of steel, and is ranked #7 in the world. Ukraine produces 32.4 million tonnes, and is ranked #10. That sounds about right to me.
  21. I get it, you are not a 24/7 propaganda troll, the US is a kleptocracy. Certainly there are benefits to the US in fuel sales; however, kindly remember it was Putin who started this war. You're trying to make it sound like the US orchestrated the invasion, hello conspiracy theorist. Was it not Putin who demanded 50% of every oligarch's assets, if they wanted to be free to enjoy the fruits of their kleptocracy? I don't need alcohol to express my opinion of Arabs, having had the misfortune of working with them many years ago.
  22. Considered moderate by whom? IIRC, it was Putin who raised the nuclear option, threatening to use it if Ukraine was declared a no-fly zone to Russian warplanes.
  23. Find a good mechanic, English-speaking, who can tell you what is wrong and how much it will cost to fix. Be prepared to walk away. Going back to the shop that sold you the dud is issuing an invitation to rip you off again. Having been burnt once, I would never buy a car that has been previously owned by an Asian again. Probably like tossing a coin as far as whether the vehicle was maintained at all. As for buying a car in that price range from a car shop, and getting a contract in Thai without being able to understand the gist - words fail me.
  24. It does sound to me as if different offices apply different rules. Did my 90 day report today, next due July 2. Close enough. I have noticed previously I have lost days if I report a week early.
  25. Thus far, you have failed to name the ones who are laughing all the way to the bank. Russia was actually doing OK, it was the main supplier of gas and oil to Europe, and had built up a sizeable foreign reserve. If anyone miscalculated it was Putin, uniting Europe, underestimating the Ukrainian will to fight, listening to yes-men, and dreaming of reviving the USSR. IMO not many people care if Arabs kill other Arabs, if it was not for the oil they sit on they would be irrelevant. High marks for look over there, though.
