  1. Thank you. Thai Red Cross keep the list of donors, for such a rare blood type it would be wonderful if you could get on it, it's health dependent, not age as far as I know. Thank you for the response. ????????
  2. Thai Red Cross arrange with donors it's a country-wide network. You would need to contact them as they keep the list of donors. Thank you for the response. ????????
  3. My wife urgently need a blood transfusion as her platelets are at danger level (low) also red cells in general. Bone marrow has been depleted due to heavy radiotherapy. A small brain bleed or other haemorrhage could quickly turn into a deadly one, and she's at risk until she can start to produce platelets at a healthier rate again. It seems she has a rare blood type A negative. Even Thai Red Cross say there is none at all in the country, and a top hospital (Bumrungrad) say the same. How should I go about making an appeal for donors? I hate being the centre of attention, but maybe would the media (newspapers, radio, etc.) help? We are not Thai speakers and are struggling to know what to do. Thanks for any kind advice.
  4. Completely ridiculous story. She's obviously too embarrassed to tell you how she really got scammed.
  5. When a poem's deemed a ditty, the world's a bit more sh.....
  6. Many replies here seem to ignore the simple fact that there some IOs who are just nasty, maybe they're racist, maybe theur going through a divorce, maybe they hate their job. Who knows? . Occasionally you can find one that makes the experience very unpleasant indeed. I never have in six years, but there is one senior IO in the local office now who has made a straightforward renewal very difficult indeed for someone I know. I haven't needed to renew since they moved to the customer-facing desk, so I can't speak from experience. Now, maybe all the IO apologists can stop beating up the OP without having all the information?
  7. Not really. The morality is the same, the difference in scale I refer to is the penalty exacted by society for different immoral acts. Stealing a million as against stealing a fiver. Chopping off a person's head as against deliberately stepping on a bug . Do you see now?
  8. More sadness. A lot of men are a waste of air.
  9. It's kinda sad to see the kind of bloke who refers to women as 'birds' coming to Thailand too. I hope they go home soon.... .
  10. A lot of people act like they have rabies when you start to talk about dogs....
  11. Aggressive like a rabid dog. Nice. I knew from the start your position was just hating/being scared of dogs in totality. Stick to your hamster, child. Geese can be pretty nasty too, be careful out there. ????????????
  12. I didn't say there wasn't a difference in scale, but the morality of killing a living entity is the same, particularly when one is supposed to have control over its decisions and the other obviously isn't. If you can't understand that then it's me who feels sorry for you.
  13. And bullet in the head for drunks who batter people for no reason? They can't control themselves. Same, right? Your comment lacks all good sense. Shame that others have approved it really. How about instead fining AND jailing the owner and sending the dogs for rehabilitation. But I can see you're brainwashed. And you're happy for illegal guns to be around if they can be used for your vigilantism. Yes, sad.
  14. These dogs are no different to other dogs originally bred for fighting instinct. If you want a perfect family pet get a terrier (Pitbull, Staffie, any terrier really) but get one direct from a small breeder who can show you their pedigree and whom you are comfortable breeds for temperament. I speak from my own experience and that of a couple of friends, as well as my son. All good, honestly.
  15. Who cares about that? What drives me freaking crazy is the way they stick the Thai sticker carefully and precisely on each packet over stuff like the cooking instructions. How stupid do you have to be to do that?
  16. O&A being a not so well known abbreviation for out and about? ???? Your life sounds fine, no need for excitement after a certain age. Breathing every day and a visit every year from my adult kids is enough for me. ???????? The downside of enjoying a longish and lazy life with my wife is that if she doesn't make it through her serious illness I'll not really see much future enjoyment in my mid 60s life. Taking up hobbies as a replacement? Hardly even comes close. ????????
  17. If I was as old as the vampire Lestat I'd still want to suck them all dry if they disturb my sleep. That's why I don't live in a Thai village.
  18. I agree with others who have said that it's disrespectful to refer to this ladyboy as 'him'. But there's no accounting for the many who don't care about the sensibilities of others. No-one's saying the deceased can read this, and no-one's saying they were actually biologically female, neither of these are the point. No need for knuckledraggers to reply, I'll be ignoring replies. ????
  19. Honesty should not be called out as being divisive, although yes I was being ironic. I know many more Thai women who have been beaten or otherwise assaulted by men than Western women back home. And that's just in 6 years living here. I feel sometimes that it seems almost accepted.
  20. Come on, he was only following local custom. What on earth difference does it make to label him foreigner in the headline other than to further ingrain divisions?
  21. I don't know why, but you're ignoring the fact that my comment was about foreign exchange. I'm not going chew over expats statistics. Crypto is a currency, as I said I won't go down a rabbit hole with you. Thanks.
  22. And I was talking about international purchases, which very many people now make, especially expats. I started at the very outset by talking about exchange. Not using the currency in the country in which it is issued. That was clear.
