  1. I just completed this quiz. My Score 0/100 My Time 201 seconds
  2. I just completed this quiz. My Score 40/100 My Time 73 seconds
  3. My latest online 90-day notification was just REJECTED by Chiang Mai immigration for the recent "screw the farangs" reason "For first-time requests of a 90-day notification in each country visit, in-person presentation at the immigration office is required." Will try to find the reasoning when visiting them.
  4. I will go to CM Immigration soon and I have an appointment for a retirement extension. Did you have to go to the "tent" first or "directed to window 2" in the main building's central information counter which distributes the appropriate queue number? There were previous reports of expats with appointments were redirected from the inside counter back to the "tent" for paperwork checks.
  5. Central Festival 3rd floor has a good variety of mobile phone shops. The name brand outlets are repetitive on the whole floor, but keep an eye on the small kiosks and counter stores in the middle of the floor. You might find a good deal at one.
  6. Kasikorn Bank warning primarily is for customers who want to conduct international money transfers which dictates increase security protocol.
  7. Good luck. The latest posts reveal one must still go to the "tent" before going to the central info desk in the immigration building.
  8. CMBob...What transpired when you went to the tent. Did you have to get a tent queue number, were your documents checked, did mentioning you had an appointment allowed you to jump the tent queue?
  9. A previous post several months ago informed an expat their appointment for business at immigration was waylaid denying service at the central counter within the building, had to go back outside to the "tent" for processing and obtain a queue number for the central counter. This was adversely contradicted to the privilege of securing an appointment date to "fast track" the service. Has anyone encounter this problem or was able to go directly to the counter claiming you was granted an appointment? Please limit your responses only if you had utilize the appointment system for Chiang Mai.
  10. LG has a service center in the moat city across from Siam TV next to a Kerry freight office. Sorry couldn't give a more detail but when my LG tv needed a replacement remote, the service center had the latest model on hand.
  11. What is your home state and where do you plan to live in America? Contact your Senators and state representatives for assistance. Ask any of your family to plead your situation. Don't give up hope...America supports their people.
  12. Be advised: The "surprise" when you visit CM immigration is if you have a sudden urge to relieve yourself, there are NO tissue papers to wipe your mess. There are bum guns, but how do you dry the wetness. 555.
  13. Buy a SIM card from a US provider...many options available to meet your needs. Suggest you have the LINE app on your mobile. It works from the US if you need to connect with your Thai contacts who must also have LINE.
  14. My approved renewal U.S. passport is expected soon, hopefully this week. Being in Chiang Mai, what to expect Thai immigration how will act when I request to have my stamps from the old passport to the new one without the embassy letter. There is also the Thai immigration form requesting the stamp transfers that needs to be submitted.
  15. The US embassy in BKK received my application for a passport renewal on March 9th. I am still waiting for my new passport. The State Department website to check the application status currently says "Application status not available". So, two or three, maybe four months. The government encouraged people to get/renew passports when COVID-19 restrictions eased, and now the passport agency is overwhelmed.
