My 5-year Thai d/l was due to expire last year while I was holidaying in Hua Hin. I got a residency cert (1000Bt) using the address of the guesthouse I was at. The following day (a Friday) I renewed my d/l and 3 days later, on Monday morning, I checked out and off I went.
Presumably you have to be in the same province as when you obtained your D/L?

For such a peaceful country Thailand has huge paranoia about the threat from foreigners.
Exactly

Maybe the tow truck got clipped by the large truck in front of the dark pick up which sent the tow truck into the dark pick up.

Did anyone really expect anything different, absolutely nothing in Thailand is free and fair is not in their vocabulary. All I know is we lost 2 Saturday nights in the bars for what ? that certainly wasn’t fair.
Exactly.

I live in Khon Kaen district in a large village outside the city. My wife and I have been married and lived in the village for 11 years, she was born in the village. She is very truthful and never lies to me
i i asked her has any one offered money etc to the villagers to vote. She said No Never. And I believe this to be true.
Maybe so in terms of cash............unrealistic offers of better facilities & public services in their specific location most probably are mentioned as in most elections.

If the rumors are true that people had to provide ID when taking bribe money, I can believe that quite a few would have for fear of retribution.
How come.............surely there is no traceable ID on a Thai ballot paper..........

Why did the ambulance not undertake to make progress if the issue was that critical?
Perhaps it did later in the video.

What happened to the Thai judicial system. I thought police are there to enforce the law not be judge and executioner. The cop fined her 500bht,or did he give an infringement notice for 500bht.? Big difference!
Good point - typically the courts assign the punishment not the police however it appears not so in Thailand.

How in heck can she hear or be bothered when he is on her mobile phone. The nerve of the ambulance.
I wonder if the police checked her phone record.

Can't smoke in the pub but no enforcement of the ban on burning in the countryside. Same in Lao and Burma I guess.

Typical Thai situation where all involved are idiots. The road designers, the road works people who setup the barrier, the drivers - all contribute to the problem. It's almost impossible to point the finger at any individual as they are all part of the same Thai Borg
Agreed.

How about extending the barrier so that it actually goes beyond the U-turn? Not so far as to affect the vehicles on the opposite side doing a U-turn but far enough to make it near on impossible for cars leaving Big-C to drive directly across the highway.
Exactly - poor road design basically. I am not sure why people are blaming the police.

Could go for the quick win and have the UK offer free access to Thai products if they offer free access to our pensioners. Huge saving for the NHS, less GOM in the UK and, if claims are correct, Isaan will be awash with money.
Good idea - have the NHS send folk to Thailand for cheap treatment & possibly burial.

So you have no faith in Sterling making a recovery post Brexit?

So Anders accepts there are too many dogs on the loose. I dont think we need to hear any more from him. A cull is in order in certain areas.
I recall in Baku the authorities announce when the strays are to be rounded up giving people a chance to capture & secure their pets before the strays are picked up. Unlike various other animals like cattle, goats & sheep the dogs are dealt with away from public view.

For re- entering Thailand with a retirement visa multiple entry you could potentially be asked to show your bank book proving that the 800K or 400K required is still available. If you cannot update your bank book after leaving the plane and before passing through immigration you could potentially have an issue.

fully uniformed officers from two different police departments showed up and began randomly approaching tourists and vendors.
The word "Police" is used for every conceivable body of law enforcers both in Thailand and elsewhere no doubt.
Why can't Thai media be more specific? Which departments were involved?
Higher profile policing is a must here - they need to be seen to get the crime rate down.
