What visa would they get in Thailand if they are young enough to be conscripted?

An upper age limit of 40 was scrapped, leaving no formal maximum age of enlistment in the mobilization for Ukraine

Ok good point but where is the evidence that Russians over 50 are 'fleeing' to get retirement visas here?  there is no data to support this, so far,  just noise. The photos with the articles are 20 or 30 somethings.

    Conscription.

The few that have fled can never go back because they will be arrested. It's true some have fled but not that many and certainly not ones like the pretty girls in this article.

What visa would they get in Thailand if they are young enough to be conscripted?  they would only get tourists visas then where will they go?  it's nonsense.

Russian tourists are fleeing to Thailand to escape the war in Ukraine or look to move to the Southeast Asian country.

Thailand has become a haven for Russian visitors who are looking to escape Moscow’s war in Ukraine that has now entered its second year.

Visitors are in Thailand but are they fleeing Russia too. Now thousands of Russians are looking for a new home, fearing economic woes in Russia and a military draft because of the Kremlin’s war in Ukraine.

Funny - fleeing the draft? you think they won't be arrested if they go back? and they have Thai long term visas if they are of draft age?  you need to think a bit before posting.

Slightly off topic but in my experience long term foreigners who profess to hate Thailand have only themselves to blame - whether having lost most of their money or chained to some unsuitable partner or isolated in some dull as ditch water Isaan village (or a combination of all three).

The other side of the coin are those who uncritically adore every aspect of Thailand and revile their home country. It's an attitude I prefer to that of the Thailand haters because it's more optimistic. But it's no closer to the truth.

The reality is that Thailand is a very attractive country with some deep seated problems - like anywhere else.I love it but recognize the issues. Those who claim to be uninterested in their home country seem not to realize they are simply confirming they didn't fit in - which is fine .But it's silly not to recognize that European countries are superbly livable - for the well educated, the better off and civilized.

I'm certainly glad I was born in Europe but just as glad I now live here in happy retirement.

Russians are desperate.  Thais are desperate.  Russians spend more money, plus envelopes.  They aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.   Wait until they can buy a Thai passport

Thais will want to keep the corruption for themselves for sure as for any envelopes it's a way of life here unfortunately. Hopefully it will begin to change when they vote out the dinosaurs in May.
