    I am not worried, i have a c-hr ?

i tought you bought the f150 raptor.. But i found out that it's the ranger raptor, smaller but still a big truck made for 4wheel drive in hard core paths.. For fun, not for going shopping at bigC... Just my opinion.

i know, if i don't like what you say i better not post here but why did you start that thread so ?

about the price ... The ford raptor is just the double price of ecosport, still logical decision ??.. I had fun on this post, thanks for the amazing people.

I'm almost certain to buy the raptor as it became apparent that none of the cars we discussed fitted what I wanted. The C-HR I don't like the 'Juke' style but it still topped the list.  As you know, because I mentioned it 3 times, i already own a Juke which i will use for shopping malls, city center etc.

I agree the raptor is really made for off-road etc. I don't do off-road but I do live outside the city and, as I mentioned, I like to go to large garden centers and buy shrubs etc. and I like to go to go buy art stuff etc. and a pick-up is much better for that. The ecosport, as mentioned by other posters, lacks power etc.

The Toyota is the only contender and I think you have a great car there. I just wish it didn't look like a copy of my Juke!  The ford raptor is NOT on sale in Thailand right now so I have time. September is the launch date I think.

Your one to talk she is proven in court to be guilty but your not agreeing. While proven in court and i can't speculate on a proven link between Thaksin and those companies. Come on please be a bit fair what your obviously not.

Your disagreeing with a court verdict while i am merely exposing known facts and ask if there is a connection.

The Court date was not for corruption it was for a 'made up' charge of negligence. An unheard of law.  Anyway it ALL failed and she's enjoying a well-earned holiday in USA.

I agree that the junta probably had something to do with her escape.. that or they are incompetent beyond belief. (though it might just be possible). I think the truth is somewhere in the middle between jailing politicians and letting them off. I don't like negligence and YL did cause 30 billion baht damages to the state by allowing it to happen, however it can't be proven she benefited from it. I am still not sure it was just incompetence or on purpose as the companies were linked to Thaksin. But it cant be proven.

I much rather see a difference in attitude how they go about real proven corruption here. Each and every time I read about it they never talk about jail-time or return of all the ill gotten gains. Just dismissal. This is something that needs to change and I much rather see a change here then YL in jail. It sickens me how easy those people get off. Rarely is jail time given for corruption. Steal from a shop and you can end up in jail.. steal millions from the government and you get dismissed.... Talk about disproportionate

Thank you. Yes it  'can't be proven' as there is NO BASIS for the accusation. I'll give you some more:

'It can't be proven'  that Obama did not get a kick back from the local Nunnery

'It can't be proven' that Elvis was really Santa Claus in disguise

'It can't be proven' that Prayut is not a Lizard  ( David Icke style)

So let's leave the 'It can't be proven's behind?   she was not charged, she was not arrested, she was not guilty and travels freely whilst the Mob holds this beautiful country to ransom whilst it enjoys  'dead people's' watches, vast land sales and 'connecting with the people' (although not politicking of course).

Thailand have never had a mature democracy. The number of coups since 1932 would indicate otherwise, as would the non existence of an independent, fair to all, unbiased robust justice system, complete with the necessary checks and balances which are enforced fairly, to all without any selectivity. A democracy isn't just about voting once every few years.

PTP and their opponents were in a headlong rush to get control. PTP contrived to get Thaksin an amnesty. First they cheated the parliamentary process, which they didn't have to as they had a majority lo! But they probably suspected the likely massive public outcry. Yingluck claimed all versions, and there were several, had been withdrawn. She lied. The one that benefited Thaksin hadn't been withdrawn when the senate voted against it. If PTP had kept power, either through not dissolving parliament or be gaining re-election then the bill would have returned to the lower house and been put into law, or re-introduced with a new mandate justification. That, together with the refusal to stop the attacks on protesters by their supporters was enough of an excuse for the coup, for which some had been itching.

The small group of people that vie for control and enjoy fabulous wealth included the  Shiniwattra family and the group that supports them as well as their opponents.

You don't think Prayut's 600m 'land sale' makes him 'fabulously wealthy'?  or Prawit's watches?  we are bored with this

'It's the Shins, it's the Shins'.

They have not been in power for FOUR YEARS aim your criticism at those in power NOW. And this thread is not about:

    Thaksin

    PTP

    or Yingluck

It is about this Junta trying to keep power for 20 more years by proxy. Do try to stay on track please.

And why are Trumps "performances" not horrible, when he does the same thing repeatedly? Do I detect a loss of objectivity here? Why is it liberal entitlement? He is just saying what most of us are feeling. He may not be using the F word in public, but he is using nearly every other insult possible. Does he have some sort of special dispensation, because he is president, and does DeNiro have less rights, because he is an actor? Trump is the master of the insult. He sure can dish it, but he cannot take it.

Man up Don. Grow some thick skin. Stop being such a pussy. Your lack of self esteem is embarrassing. Any man who has enough self love, does not get as offended as you do, for the slightest remark. You are a child, pretending to be a man. A man is anything but what you are.

I realize you have been brainwashed into thinking all actors are "liberal", and none have credibility. Had they supported Tiny Don, he would be heaping praise on them daily.

Yes many of Trumps gigs are horrible. You think the actor 'introducing' Bruce Springsteen for his award has the RIGHT to gain all the publicity for cheap and nasty F's?  I don't it was Bruce's moment but  DeNiro stole it and he obviously feels 'entitled' to it.

That award ceremony was NOTHING to do with Trump and it backfired. Do the liberals REALLY think that this type of grand standing helps get rid of the megalomaniac?  think again!

  8. Thanks to all for input. I've made a decision and it's none of the ones we discussed. All the info has been most enlightening and I've rejected all of them for varying reasons.

    Ecosport - underpowered

    Sabaru - servicing etc.

    MG - underpowered

Toyota (the very close near-winner) - I just can't live with the 'Juke' effect as I already have a Juke and don't like it much.

I've though long and hard and, as I enjoy going to craft markets and garden centers I'm going for a pick-up!  I know this thread was not about pick-ups but I just can't find the cross-over that was the right fit. I am getting a Ford Raptor in grey color (not silver). Great looks, 10 speed, 6 air bags, Navi and all that jazz. 1.699m a bit steep but within my budget. Glad to hear your views.

Your skipping so many of my questions and parts of my reply I do the same. Seems to be the norm here on Thaivisa so I go with the flow.

This was not a matter of making a mistake, this was pointed out to her that these fake G2G were there and she would investigate. That is just negligence or stupidity or its on purpose. She was convicted for negligence and I feel the might have messed up the investigation on purpose (they could not prove it but its hard to prove of course) because of her brothers links to the companies that helped in the fake G2G deals.

If we jailed PM's who made mistakes they would be far more careful with their job just imagine we would not have had an Irak war because data would have been properly checked.

Well... we agree to disagree. Luckily for her the whole world agrees and she is free to travel etc.  I wish her well, history will treat her more kindly than those that took over through guns.

Not talking about the program at all not giving a judgement on that one your not even reading what i post.

I am posting about the fake 30 billion baht G2G deals a case that ended in lengthy prison sentence for people and has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt.

YL either let it happen knowingly (because the companies were connected to Thaksin) or was so stupid she could not find out and was negligent.

I made no judgement on the program while I am against it, I am making judgement about the corruption in the program and YL her inability (on purpose or otherwise) to combat that corruption. 30 billion lost because of the fake trades allowing rice to be sold 2 times in the system.

I agree brother was corrupt but they all were (and are).  If we jailed all ex.PM's who make mistakes (Bush/Blair WMD?) then no one would want the job and the jail's would be full.  It's a nonsense and is why parliamentary privilege exists.

You skipped over the question about prosecuting Prayut and his gang who took over the WHOLE country with guns.

  11. Just now, robblok said:

YL was negligent let a 30 billion corruption scheme happen in her rice program after people pointed out there were fake G2G deals. She said she would investigate came back with.. no corruption. That is negligence, then if you know the companies that were involved with the fake G2G deals were friends of Thaksin you wonder if it was ONLY negligence or more.

Not at all. Far sighted in trying to help farmers she was a bit unlucky the market changed. She did nothing that other PM's do.  Name one other PM who has been prosecuted like that.  Obama?  Bush?  Cameron?  Blair?  Merkle?  all of those have blood on their hands (Iraq etc.) and are far more guilty than sh ever was.  PM's get protection from being hounded after their term in office but not here.  And WHO is afraid the most?  the Junta who, funnily enough, have given themselves amnesty.  Do you agree that Prayut should be tried for treason?  you don't think this crime is far, far worse than helping farmers?

They reinforce the role model that the very very corrupt can escape real punishment and become fabulously wealthy which is was keeps corruption an 'acceptable" of life here.

Brother was just part of a filthy system and Yingluck was not corrupt at all. All countries have rice supporting schemes as does the Junta. No one really believes the Junta lies about her and the 'fantastic escape' with house surrounded by Policemen. She was the innocent victim of an Army take-over who then wanted her OUT.

She (or he for that matter) would win by a LANDSLIDE if they were allowed back and that cannot happen.
