I have since 2010 gone to Koh Samet every year for 1 week in January.

Still very happy and will enjoy the Island again in January 2019.

Maybe I am not so fossy as I am living near Pattaya all winter, with poor beaches.

Ao Prao Resort the best beach and decent tourists  !

Are you lazy to go somewhere nicer and worth the price ?

I am in Thailand, but in the North East. In case you are in Bangkok I can recommend a top-of-the-notch coating shop which charges reasonable prices (+- 10,000 THB).

However, I think they are pretty booked full so if you don't mind the 1 month waiting list then .... ?

    Hello,

Can you tell me where to go and also PM me where you are located in north east ? As I plan a visit there, I could visit you ? thanks.

  3. hello,

What do you think about car glass coating (quartz coating or any other stupid name that they use) is worth paying as much or more than 30000+ when what is used to do it costs around 5000 thb ?

This is in my opinion pure scam for people who were not able to buy a nice car and have a to drive a cheap japanese car ?

OK, I understand that there is a prep to be done before coating, but since when 1 day work on a car costs 25000 thb in Thailand ? Especially done by farmers ?!

And for this price they pretend that they will re-coat your car in case the coating left, but this coating is not supposed to leave before 3 years, so they actually never re-coat anything.

But I could be wrong, please tell me, and not only what you saw in your dreams, but real facts when you have seen them re-coating your car before the end of the 3 years plan ? And not when they TOLD you that they did it, only when you have SEEN that they did it. Because most of the people I know keep repeating that they re-coat every time they visit the coating shop. What a BS ! But not surprised that Thai just believe.

Maybe more acceptable, some places do a 1 time coating for 10000 thb, which means something like 5000 labor for 1 day work, maybe more acceptable. Any experience ?

    Hello Everybody,

i am pretty new in here and just found this post.

As i am living on the darkside and loving pizzas the thin crispy style.

So, my favourite was former Tifosi on Khao Talo. It was taken over by an expat with his wife about 4 month ago and now being relocated to Soi Khao Noi.

It's called DEVILICIOUS now, has just reopened and, coming from the railway, it's about 400 meters on the left side(corner unit).

Has a patio and an airconroom also showing live sports and great music all the time.

For me it's the best pizza on darkside when not even in Pattaya.

If your around, just give it a try.

It seems that they are not so good at marketing, I drive there often and haven't seen the shop, maybe the next restaurant failure ?

So crazy that people do not understand that nobody cares that your food is good or not, the only important thing is MARKETING, online and offline.

So please post links and photos ?! And maybe add a better sign in front of the shop...

I know the Thais make things like hard drives, cars, and electronic parts, and produce a lot of rice, but they still rely heavily on tourism. Almost 20 percent according to some estimates. None of the above is cutting edge stuff. Thailand isn't poor but it's in the middle of Southeast Asia. It seems like Thailand has been like this for a long time so either they don't mind or they can't break their reliance on tourism.

Luckily Thai are not going to promote anything soon if even factory workers expect 15000 thb salary...

    Wishing them 10% unemployment.

The airport to Pattaya motorway is very confusing regarding what is the actual speed limit. There are at least 5 different types of signage with a whole range of differing speed limits. New ones have now allocated speeds to lanes. There’s even ones showing what your speed is - but I really don’t think it’s accurate and not out by a few km/hr, but 10-15 km/hr out.

    > 120 seems to be what the speed cameras are set to - but it’s anyomes guess. It’s fine they want to introduce speed cameras, but they’re going to have to make the limits a lot easier to understand. Not too mention are they targeting black spots or just generating revenue.

Totally true ! They manage road signage just like they manage their lives. It's messy and stupid.

Yes possible, as it looked like Spain.

Any idea about prices and if this could be considered as a reasonable investment for the rental market?

Point is that I have a considerable amount of cash sitting in the bank that earns Nada.

Same problem here, what to do with all the cash ?

I am even looking for investment abroad or just burn it with a new Porsche ?

You say internet sites do not accept debit cards, well you are 100% wrong, some sites do.

I no longer have any credit cards only use a debit card, it it has been accepted by internet sites.

I said Lazada does not accept international CREDIT CARDS. Please learn how to read before writing, especially when you know nothing.

New York Pizza 3rd road is my vote.

The greatest idiots in the pizza business who do not even allow to drink wine there...

If your Credit Card company is satisfied with your answer after contacting the supplier for their comment. Then they will refund you and take the money back off of the supplier through the international banking system. A Credit Card is a valuable insurance on anything over purchased over £100 in the UK.

But I am wondering what could try to do a Thai seller not happy to lose 20000 thb ?

It seems to be the reason why lazada does not accept some international credit cards ? Too easy to get refunded...

New York Pizza House on 2nd Rd (near the junction with Lengkee) has long been my favourite in Pattaya.

It has absolutely nothing special except for some US people who have no idea about how should be a real Italian pizza...
