  1. Maybe because yourself and KH have driven them away - this forum used to be informative but now it's just a lot of bickering. There are a lot of current topics that need addressing but it's difficult to get any serious discussion. An example: I stumbled on this little gem this morning -- this could impact all the Aged Pension Expats here. I got quizzed by my bank this morning. The declaration goes into Asian TIN's. "You will need to declare your tax residency when opening a new account or when requested by the bank". Collecting customer tax information - CommBank
  2. I thought you would know already -- didn't you reach out for help with the current President, Biden?
  3. You are projecting. Funnily, I thought you were the one avoiding the point and throwing insults, as has been your modus operandi here. Obviously, this is your last resort, as you have nothing else -- a subliminal acknowledgment of my superior intelligence. Bye I will be looking forward to Part Three.
  4. It’s becoming pretty clear you’re more interested in deflecting than actually addressing facts. Now, you’re switching from community to communism vs. collectivism -- save that for a new topic, maybe Part Three: The Return of the Bait-and-Switch. Your post here seems more like a collection of propaganda than a real debate, using tactics like Non Sequitur, Deflection, Question-Begging, and False Equivalence, rather than actual logic. You state your ultimate goal is to educate, yet you’re responding to my valid questions with more questions. Is that how an educator engages in a real debate -- or are you just trying to avoid addressing the core issue by paraphrasing and deflecting?
  5. If what you are saying is true that would suggest it's a fact--yet you have not posted a link, so it's only hypothetical.
  6. I afraid that proof is needed if your post is other than opinion.
  7. Genrikh Yagoda, you’ve conflated the terms "community" and "collectivism" while focusing on irrelevant historical figures like Bismarck to muddy the waters. Let’s cut to the chase: your ultimate goal here is a bait-and-switch attempt to deflect attention away from the rise of white nationalist and authoritarian movements now gaining power, and to falsely project their characteristics onto the opposing social democrats?
  8. Aren't you the one who is confused? In your OP, you state that 'all precepts of socialism are based on community.' Yet, in this subsequent reply, you claim, 'you confuse Socialism with Social Democracy.' This seems to be a 'non sequitur' logic error and contradictory. Social democracy doesn't seek to eliminate capitalism but to regulate it, unlike socialism, which often advocates for collective ownership and a more radical restructuring. If socialism is defined by community, how does that square with your distinction between the two ideologies?
  9. And the four you watched?
  10. I watched The Return (2024) starring Ralph Fiennes as Ulysses, last night. Watching paint dry would have been more enjoyable. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt19861162/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_8_nm_0_in_0_q_the%20return
  11. Right, unlike government leaders like Trump, who treated the Emoluments Clause as a suggestion and turned public office into his own VIP rewards program?
  12. Funny how your 'old-school liberal' values always seem to mirror far-right talking points.
  13. The Nazis used "socialism" only as a populist tool to gain support, but their core ideology was far-right: nationalism, authoritarianism, and anti-communism. Business leaders supported Hitler to maintain power, not out of love for capitalism or to prevent state control—they benefited from state contracts under fascist regulation. The idea that capitalism reduces wars is oversimplified; big business thrives in war economies, as seen with the Nazis. The NSDAP was not a "working-class nationalist" party but a far-right, authoritarian regime with a dangerous agenda.
  14. Right, so no evidence then!
  15. I suggest you submit the evidence first!
  16. I am using the one in the main city market in Khao Niwet. As I live in Kra Buri normally I only venture to shops on Phet Kasem Road and to IM when I have to. I never knew there was a Bangkok Bank 1 km further down the road from IM, never been on the ferries. Not many farang locals in Ranong. Thanks Have you been there recently, there's a branch shown on Google in Lotus but that's been closed down?
  17. I currently have 400k+ in Bangkok Bank and plan to transfer another 400k+ for my first renewal, due in June 2025. My branch is located in a very inconvenient area of Ranong with limited parking, so I’d like to move my IM requirements to SCB Bank, which is in a shopping center I frequent regularly and is far more convenient. Given that my Immigration Office can be arbitrarily pedantic, I’m seeking a simple way to make the switch. Also, are there any differences between the two banks in terms of obtaining statements, bank letters, or other required documents for immigration purposes? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  18. When I entered my details (inter alia age 77) into Roojai site for an insurance quote I was directed to this site : https://compare.mrkumka.com/#/?lang=en This is an insurance agent and was offered 3 very competitive choices including Alliance Ayudhya. Two had 5k excesses. Seems Roojai is an agency and also gives referrals to other agents. Also, in my case @ 77 buying a Toyota and having T-Connect is an unrealised bonus as it aligns with the new legislation as detailed above by @vinny41. https://www.carrushome.com/en/toyota-and-aioi-introduces-groundbreaking-first-class-insurance-toyota-care-pay-how-you-drive-phyd-to-create-good-driver-society-and-offer-more-savings/
  19. Funnily most smell something else. #TrumpSmells
  20. EDIT: Apologies I recently bought a new Toyota with included Roojai Aioi 1st Class, I'm 77. The policy is linked to Toyota's T-Connect which shows my driving habits.
  21. Hitler won the most votes in the 1932 Reichstag elections, leading to his appointment as Chancellor. How'd that work out for saving democracy?
  22. Who would have thought you're mistaken... Here's where you went wrong: Logic Flaws: False equivalence, strawman, cherry-picking. E. Jean Carroll’s case: U.S. Federal Law (18 U.S. Code § 2241 & § 2242) doesn’t apply—it wasn’t in federal jurisdiction. Tara Reade’s allegations: They were never tried in court. Biden: He is not advocating the death penalty for the offense, so there’s no irony in the Reade case.
