  1. US aims to show Trump's history of vote fraud claims at 2020 election trial "The defendant's false claims about the 2012 and 2016 elections are admissible because they demonstrate the defendant's common plan of falsely blaming fraud for election results he does not like, as well as his motive, intent and plan to obstruct the certification of the 2020 election results and illegitimately retain power'' noted Special Counsel Jack Smith's team. 2. Hitler did lead the far-right German Workers Party for a short time. When he became leader, he changed its name to the extreme right National Socialist German Workers’ Party, or Nazi Party. Both parties had nothing in common with left-wing ideas or policies. He also attempted to overthrow the democratic government of Germany in 1923, in a failed coup known as the Beer Hall Putsch. In his book Mein Kampf, which he wrote in 1925-1926 and in his speeches and propaganda he expressed his hatred for communists, socialists, liberals, LGBTQ, the disabled, and the Jews and other races. In fact, anyone he thought would pollute the Aryan race or would oppose him, and later would send them to concentration camps, ghettos, killing centers, and death camps. . It has been suggested from various sources that Trump admitted that he kept a copy of Hitler's Mein Kampf by his bedside for inspiration. It is obvious even to blind Freddy what will happen if Trump were ever to be elected again. MSNBC's Joe Scarborough Mocks Trump: 'Heard You Had Mein Kampf' by Bedside (newsweek.com)
  3. Last night, I watched The Professor and the Madman (2019) - IMDb 7.2/10. Quite an amazing story about the writing of the first edition of the Oxford English Dictionary, a task which took 70 years to complete. Stars Mel Gibson and Sean Penn were both outstanding in their roles.
  4. Get out the popcorn, maybe two.....3 hrs 28 mins. Killers of the Flower Moon (2023) - IMDb 8/10 is now available.
  5. Enjoying drama and thriller, A Murder at the End of the World (TV Mini Series 2023) - IMDb 7.5/10 at the moment, especially the scenes from Iceland.
  6. If you are referring to Biden, I suggest 'yellow' is preferrable to an orange one with bones spurs.
  7. I suggest most would be surprised if the sea at Pattaya was clean in any season.
  8. MAGA Mike has been accepting Russian money..... Mary Trump calls out 'MAGA Mike Johnson' for alleged Russian ties. 9. Hunter Biden has called the GOP's bluff..... Hunter requests public hearing instead of GOP's closed door. “We have seen you use closed-door sessions to manipulate, even distort the facts and misinform the public. We therefore propose opening the door,” (Hunter's lawyer) Lowell wrote in a letter to Comer on Tuesday. “If, as you claim, your efforts are important and involve issues that Americans should know about, then let the light shine on these proceedings.” Lowell noted that Comer has previously said that Hunter Biden is “more than welcome” before the committee. 10. I found BangkokDrugstore.com a very good supplier of most local and imported prescription medication. Their online store does not list all their medications. I would telephone (they speak excellent English) to make enquiries then email my requirements and they delivered usually the next day even when I was living in Ranong.
  11. Murdoch needs to come clean this week about his contribution to 'The Big Lie' or oops there goes another billion, in settlement to avoid lying under oath. This will no doubt have a 'knock on effect' and increase Murdoch's jeopardy with other cases like 'NYC pension funds (and other shareholders) vs Fox and directors' etc. Rupert Murdoch to be deposed in Smartmatic defamation case against Fox (msn.com)
  12. In 2019, Trump selected Rick Scott as his czar to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. This was paradoxical because Scott’s company had previously been fined $1.7 billion by the Department of Justice for defrauding government health care programs. Appointing Scott was akin to letting a fox guard the hen house, a move characteristic of Trump’s idiocratic and kleptocractic administration.
  13. Brings back fond memories, when I was in Luang Prabang, when I declined the opportunity to travel by fast boat to Chiang Rai via Huang Xai on the Mekong. There were no seats, so you sat on the bouncing hard floor with your knees under your chin for six hours. I understood there were no comfort stops though helmets were optional dual purpose.
  14. I find closed captions are helpful with some dialogue. At the moment, I am finding Hidden Assets Season 2 a bit of a struggle, the English is spoken with a mixture of Irish, Belgian and Spanish accents. Season 1 had CC's, on season 2 its missing.
  15. I feel the same about the Vietnam War but more so as it directly impacted my life and that of my family and friends.
  16. Looks very similar to Australia (2008), same era, director, actors etc but a series, with a better rating.
  17. Happy to oblige. If you need any more help just ask or PM :)

  19. I am amazed and astonished by the academic excellence of some of this thread, in particular the previously untapped esoteric book of knowledge of conspiracy theories.
  20. I had a girlfriend in Phitsanulok back in 2006 and with a friend on holiday from Australia we hired a car and drove around the area. We visited Sukhothai Historical Park and then drove through Tak to Mae Sot. The drive thru the mountains is quiet spectacular, as was the view from the restaurants above the Mae Sot valley. Evidently, the mountain drive from Tak to Mae Sot is the most dangerous in Thailand and the scene of many accidents, so I would take care. The highlight for my Australian friend was the historical park and the jewelry she bought from the Mae Sot markets down by the border with Myanmar. Evidently, the jewelry, which I thought was junk, when insured was valued at about 10 times what she paid for it. The only night action in the whole area was in the disco at the Topland Plaza Hotel disco in Phitlok. I had previously spent some time in Kamphaeng Phet at Songkran the year before and it was like any other small Thai city, boring.
  21. No, they don't. Thailand metricated like most of the world, except for the third world countries of Myanmar and Liberia, and of course the US.
  22. I would suggest that Zika can be a very 'DANGEROUS' disease for pregnant woman and their children. Maybe google 'photos of babies born with Zika'.
  23. DSI seize B2bn Phuket luxury villas in gambling network raid PHUKET: Department of Special Investigation (DSI) Director General Pol Maj Suriya Singhakamol led a team of officers to Phuket yesterday (Nov 22) to seize two luxury villas together worth an estimated B2 billion from the operators of an online gambling network that had a daily turnover of some B72 billion. 24. Perhaps to demonstrate the 'usefulness' of the topic here, perhaps we should start a thread: What did you have to resort to fill the gap during the week hiatus? I binged watched 47 episodes of Island of Bryan (TV Series 2019– ) - IMDb It was quite enjoyable, though maybe not everyone's cup of tea.
